Oscar: I really have no preference. We don't even have to have a party. Michael: No, hey, hey. Don't be ridiculous. Of course we are going to have a party. A celebration of Oscar. Oscar night. And I want it to be Oscar-specific. Order some Thai food and uncork that Spanish red—this week is all about Oscar! Well, multiple Oscars. Well, both Oscar Martinez and the 2025 Oscars to be specific. We start the episode by discussing the news that Oscar Nuñez will be reprising the character of Oscar Martinez on ‘The Paper' releasing later this year. We talk about our expectations and give some predictions and ideas about his role in the show. And then we move on to this year's Oscars awards, talking about some best and worst moments, our favorite jokes from Conan's monologue, and one incredibly long acceptance speech. And to close it out we talk more generally about some movies we watched this, including Challengers, Nosferatu, and more. Support our show and become a member of Scott's Tots on Patreon! Consider yourself warned and bear in mind the images in question have not been officially released and are in their very nature, conceptual, so everything discussed should be considered with a healthy amount of scrutiny and discernment. On the same coin, if the leaks are to be taken seriously, the pieces potentially reveal major plot points and crucial information. Potential spoilers in 3, 2, 1…HBO celebrated and announced the commencing of production on its Lanterns series last week by revealing our first look at stars Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler, as Jon Stewart and Hal Jordan, respectively. This podcast covers New Girl Season 3, Episode 23, Cruise, which originally aired on May 6, 2014 and was directed by Elizabeth Meriwether and written by Luvh Rakhe and Rob Rosell. Here's a quick recap of the episode:The loft goes on a cruise together while Nick and Jess continue to deal with the awkwardness of their break up. We discuss Pop Culture References such as:“Shame, shame I know your name” / The Goonies - Winston said the phrase “Shame, shame I know your name” to Schmidt and Cece at different times in the episode, calling them out for liking the other. We also shared that Josh Gad reunited the cast of The Goonies in his Reunited Apart series on YouTube.Additional Pop Culture References such as:“Amazing Grace” - When Coach is scared during the cruise safety training, the trainer, Doug, starts singing “Amazing Grace”, which is a Christian hymn published in 1779. Words for the song were originally written by English Anglican clergyman and poet John Newton. In the United States, the song is very popular and is used for both religious and secular purposes. On this episode's Most Likely To we see who is more likely to make the most of the money they've already spent, make their own rosé, plan an intervention for their friends, and go on a cruise. We also cover the moment where Schmidt cued up the violinist for his big moment with Cece as our “Schmidtism”. For “Not in the 2020s” we highlight the return of the fat shaming and how Coach felt that if he showed his fear of boats it would make him less of a man. For “Yes in the 2020s” we discuss Schmidt prioritizing Cece over himself and the loft coming together for Nick and Jess. We give a brief look into Kerri Kenney (Captain Jan Nortis) and Oscar Nuñez (Doug), the guest stars we feature in this episode. Also in this episode were the following guest stars who we do not discuss in the podcast: Jessica Gardner (Yoga Instructor), Gabriela Fresquez (Ship Employee), Nick Armstrong (Stranger), Amber Friendly (Masseuse), Dalton Grant (Photographer), Ray Reinebach (Violinist), and Kelly Bacon (Cruise Guest).Additionally, we discuss the different parts of a boat and many different articles of trivia, linked below. We did not find the bear in this episode. What New Girl's Season Finale Got Right and Wrong About CruisingAV Club's Episode RecapVulture Episode RecapWhile not discussed in the podcast, we noted other references in this episode including:Skee-Ball - Nick asks Winston to cash in his Skee-Ball tickets as he didn't want to go to the other side of the boat. Skee-Ball is an arcade game where a person throws a ball up an incline, with the hopes of getting it into a group of rings of different sizes, which account for different points.PG-13 - When Nick and Jess were given the Grand Romance Package, they asked to have a PG-13 package instead. PG-13 denotes “Parental Guidance: Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13 to 15.” and is used in the United States, Singapore, Jamaica, the UAE, and Thailand as a movie and TV rating system. This episode got an 8/10 rating from Kritika and 7.5/10 from Kelly and we both had the same favorite character: Winston! Thanks for listening and stay tuned for our Season 3 Recap!Music: "Hotshot” by scottholmesmusic.comFollow us on Twitter, Instagram or email us at whosthatgirlpod@gmail.com!Website: https://smallscreenchatter.com/

In this episode, Lynnette interviews her friend Ursula Whittaker, who identifies as an actress, writer, manager of her husband's corporation, and lead parent to their daughter. She is born and raised in Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband, Oscar and 6 year old daughter, August. Her husband also happens to be Oscar Nuñez, the actor from "The Office," "The Proposal," and most recently from the "State Farm" campaign that runs through the NBA season. Ursula shares how she was pretty close to deciding she didn't want to give her independence for motherhood, why she thought being asked to share her dream version of motherhood was stupid, and what it's like to be experiencing perimenopause while parenting a young child. She also describes what it's like when their family is out together and a fan recognizes Oscar.
Episode 7! Oscar Nuñez from The Office visits Gary and Elliot on a Sunday morning and Elliot makes him the show's first non-alcoholic cocktail. Hint: it involves pickle brine. This episode's featured drink by Elliot: Mr. MacGregor's Martini This is a savory cocktail featuring cucumber and basil-infused vodka, which is easy to make: just chop up some cucumber and throw it in a jar with a handful of basil leaves and 6 oz. of vodka. Let it rest overnight, then strain and refrigerate. For a non-alcoholic version of the drink, muddle some cucumber and basil in pickle brine for about an hour and strain before using. 2 oz. cucumber and basil-infused vodka .5 oz. Dolin Dry Vermouth .5 oz. organic 100% carrot juice (I used Trader Joe's, but if you have a juicer, have at it!) 6 grape tomatoes pinch of kosher salt 1 dash Bitter End Celery Bitters Place 6 grape tomatoes in the bottom of a mixing glass with a pinch of kosher salt, and crush them up completely. Dump into a mesh strainer and press through to extract the juice; you want to get 1/2 ounce of thick tomato juice. Add the tomato juice to a cocktail shaker with carrot juice, vermouth, vodka, bitters, and ice, and shake until cold. Strain into a cocktail glass (I like a coupe) and garnish with two cornichons on a pick, and a pinch of Maldon sea salt. You might be wondering, why so much salt? With a savory cocktail, I want it to be nicely seasoned. If you want it a little spicy, add some black pepper to the mix. But with the tomato, carrot, cucumber, and basil, this tastes like a garden in a glass. Very fresh. Like the sound of that drink? This recipe and plenty more like it can be found in Elliot's book Create 100 Cocktails, available right now in print on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/dp/1791870589 Also available as an ebook on on Gumroad: https://gum.co/aWfNX

Chatting With Sherri welcomes author and playwright; Gregg Oppenheimer! Gregg is the son of “I Love Lucy” creator-producer-head writer Jess Oppenheimer. He got his start in comedy at the tender age of four, when his father introduced him to Lucille Ball on the set of “I Love Lucy.” Kneeling down, a smiling Lucy asked Gregg, “Where did you get those big brown eyes?” Gregg's deadpan reply: "They came with the face." Lucy nearly fell over laughing. And now Gregg has written a new play. That book, which went through eight printings, From 2000 to 2007, he produced the award-winning “I Love Lucy” DVD Series for CBS and Paramount.
