This podcast covers all the great things to do in Spartanburg, SC. We talk about music, culture, recreation, dining, local organizations, and anything to help you get out and enjoy the Hub City.The creator and host for Go! Spartanburg is Mike Miller. Mike is a native of Spartanburg and has lived here longer than he likes to admit. He has been involved in many local civic and cultural organizations over the years, including the Spartanburg Jaycees, Community Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Little Theatre. He is the founder of two musical groups - the Sparkle City Brass Quintet and the Upstate Brass Band. He has been known to ride a mountain bike all over Camp Croft, albeit somewhat slowly.

    Foothills Trail Conservancy with Andrew Gleason

The Foothills Trail is a 75 mile hiking trail that goes from Table Rock State Park to Oconee State Park. Thousands of people hike it every year, including many who through-hike the entire distance.     On this week's episode, we speak with Linda Powell from the Glenn Springs Preservation Society. The GSPS has worked for over 15 years to restore and preserve the history of the Glenn Springs area of Spartanburg County, which was once home to a world class resort hotel where people came to drink the mineral water. The hotel was open for over 100 years, from the 1830's to the early 1940's. They also bottled the water and shipped it all over the country and even the world.     Motown Memories with James Reese

    James Reese is an institution in Spartanburg's music scene.  He spent much of the 60's and 70's touring with such Motown acts at Stevie Wonder and the Temptations. He taught music in Spartanburg District 2 and was the orchestra director at the Evangel Cathedral. James was also the music director for the MLK celebration at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium for many years.
