Transitioning from physical realities to spiritual ones, we journey into the extraordinary life of Padre Pio, the Capuchin priest who bore the stigmata—Christ's wounds—as he lived a life of service to God and sinners. Padre Pio's tale, laden with divine gifts and miracles, deeply resonated with my own father. His story, and the lessons it holds, is not buried in the past but holds valuable teachings for today's youth. Be prepared for a deep reflection on the transformative power of prayer drawn from the encounter between Father Columban and Padre Pio. From Padre Pio's secret shoulder wound, considered the most painful by Christ himself, we learn the power of intense prayer in reshaping our lives and our relationship with God. We're reminded that every day, we stand before the tree of knowledge of good and evil, deciding to either embrace or reject God. As we close this episode, we meditate on the essence of fervent prayer, drawing inspiration from Padre Pio and Father Columban's transformative journey, and glimpse into the boundless reach of divine love.We need your support to expand our Parish out reach. Can our relationship with God be measured solely by our attendance at the synagogue? Or is it the daily nurturing of that bond that truly matters? This episode seeks to answer these questions and more, as we ponder the profound connection between us and the divine. Highlighting my grandfather's spiritual journey in Sweden, we explore how even without a congregation, a meaningful relationship with God can still be fostered. We also delve into the role of social media in creating a false sense of validation and how it impacts our understanding of our connection with the divine. We all know that blessings are abundant - health, eyesight, clothing, and more. But how often do we pause to truly appreciate them? In this episode, we look at how Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah offer us an opportunity to express gratitude and reinforce our relationship with God. We challenge the common misconception that success is solely defined by wealth, arguing that true success is rooted in our relationships with others. Finally, we take a closer look at righteousness and wickedness, exploring how these concepts impact our relationship with God. Our choices and actions, especially those made on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, play a significant role in this relationship. As we approach Yom Kippur, we reflect on the importance of creating a sacred space that allows us to feel closer to God. This episode is a journey of spiritual exploration and we wish you all a meaningful and spiritually uplifting Yom Kippur. Tune in and join us in this exploration of faith, connection, and spirituality.*****The Thinking Talmudist Podcast shares select teachings of Talmud in a fresh, insightful and meaningful way. Jesus answers as follows: "Is not this the reason you are wrong, that you know neither the Scriptures not the power of God? For when they rise from the dead, they take neither wife nor husband, but are like angels in heaven" (Mk 12:24-25). With audience #64 of St John Paul II's Theology of the Body" as their guide, Linda and Jack explore the third part of the triptych that paints a vivid picture of marriage as the image of God, and how it directs us to our ultimate union with God, our final destiny. We'll then take a leap back in history to the institution of the Pontifical Institute for Marriage and the Family under John Paul II and the assassination attempt on his life. And make no mistake, there's a prophesied battle over marriage and family raging between God and Satan, and you'll feel its tremors in our society and culture. Did you know that the advent of no-fault divorce in the 80s had a profound impact on family values? We'll connect the dots for you. Finally, we'll navigate the innate human desire for God, as espoused in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Listen as we dissect how this desire is being distorted in our culture today. This is audience 64 if you are following us in Pope John Paul II's masterful work; Man and Woman He Created Them, A Theology of the Body.We need your support to expand our Parish out reach. Thus says the Lord to the Prophet Ezekiel, "when you hear me say anything, you shall warn them for me. If I tell the wicked, "O wicked one, you shall surely die," and you do not speak out to dissuade the wicked from his way, the wicked shall die for his guilt, but I will hold you responsible for his death!" In this episode I peel back the veil to reveal a sinister reality we cannot ignore - the exploitation of children. Given the gravity of this issue, I felt compelled to share my experience of confronting those who attempted to stifle my public discourse on this troubling matter. As we explore this topic, we highlight our collective responsibility, echoing the teachings from the book of Ezekiel, to protect the innocent and stand firm against the forces of evil.Diving into this Sunday's scriptures, we examine the profound lessons from Ezekiel, the Psalms, and St. Paul...a call for us to defend the vulnerable starts by embracing the sacrifice of Christ, our yes, our Fiat... so as to win the battle of our own hearts! Our courage to stand for all that is true, good and beautiful flows from the water and blood of His pierced heart on the Cross. Finally we thank you for support! Embark on an enlightening journey as we unravel the profound impact of repentance on our personal lives and relationships. We promise, by the end of this episode, you'll have a deeper understanding of the transformative power of seeking forgiveness. We share the wisdom and insights of the Talmud, shedding light on how making amends with strained relationships not only brings us closer to the ones we love but can even contribute to our longevity. We dive headfirst into the challenges of seeking forgiveness, especially when the other party is unwilling or is no longer with us. We share the reassuring notion that a simple 'I'm sorry' can bring about immense healing and is even regarded as a remarkably good deed by the Almighty. Our conversation further delves into the concept of private repentance. Regardless of whether our sins are public or private, we can always lean on Hashem for forgiveness. Repentance, we points out, is so powerful it's akin to offering a sacrifice to the Almighty and can lead to a longer life. So join us in this enlightening discourse on navigating strained relationships, seeking forgiveness, and tapping into the life-changing power of repentance. This episode (#227) of the Jewish Inspiration Podcast by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe is dedicated in Honor of Dr. Leonard & June Goldberg!****To listen to other podcasts by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe: https://linktr.ee/ariwol Jewish Inspiration Podcast: https://inspiration.transistor.fm/episodes Parsha Review Podcast: https://parsha.transistor.fm/episodes Living Jewishly Podcast: https://jewishly.transistor.fm/episodes Thinking Talmudist Podcast: https://talmud.transistor.fm/episodes Unboxing Judaism Podcast: https://unboxing.transistor.fm/episodes Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe Podcast Collection: https://collection.transistor.fm/episodes Please send your questions, comments and even your stories to awolbe@torchweb.orgPlease visit www.torchweb.org to see a full listing of our Jewish outreach and educational resources available in the Greater Houston area and please consider sponsoring a podcast by making a donation to help support our global outreach at https://www.torchweb.org/donate. We're standing on the frontline of a battle waged against the very fabric of our society, a war ripping apart the sanctity of marriage, family, and faith. Our children's innocence, our freedom, our eternity, all hang in the balance as Neo Marxists strive to build their utopian society. Unraveling the threads of this complex narrative, we shine a spotlight on Catholic social teaching, and how it intersects with the challenges of our time. Ever wondered what really lies under the umbrella term LGBTQ, and its implications for our education system? We tackle queer theory head-on, dissecting its origins, its ideological framework, and the stark contrast it presents against lesbian and gay studies. This journey of enlightenment reveals the unsettling truth of a proposed drag pedagogy in our education system and an orchestrated effort to rewrite the innocence of childhood. The profound impact this has on the traditional nuclear family is something we can no longer ignore.Yet, in this seemingly desolate landscape, there is a beacon of hope. The power of Scripture, prayer, and sacraments; the promise of the New Evangelization. We lean into the wisdom of Jeremiah, Psalm 63, 1 Corinthians, and Matthew 16, drawing strength from their timeless teachings. Reflecting on Pope Benedict XVI's statement and Pope John Paul II's words to the young people, we explore the art of living through evangelizing Jesus Christ. It's time we embrace our call to kindness, unity, and most importantly, courage, for it's only by standing and speaking the gospel with love that we can push back against the forces of evil.References: Queer Education is Child Abuse, By Dr. James Lindsay As part of our mission to restore the sanctity of innocence, we announce the launch of "LoveED" and our 50-50 campaign, seeking 50 generous souls willing to partner with us for $50.00 a month to help us get this effort off the ground.
