After a sweet visit and a lesson about the bronze serpent, Willie falls asleep and dreams he is in the Israelite camp, bitten by a snake. His friends race him through the crowded tents to look at the serpent on the pole. Willie chooses to trust God, looks up in faith, and is healed. He wakes to find his fever lower and learns with Mom why some people would not believe and how God's love invites us to trust Him. A gentle story that helps kids understand “look and live” and how Jesus heals those who believe. Unfortunately, this is not the best time, when shrouded by loss and grief, to be making snap decisions on inclusions that will shape the way your person is farewelled, and remembered. So what we are saying to you is this - get educated. Know what your choices are before you are in this situation. And, if possible, know what your loved ones - your parents, spouse or partner, siblings and kids would want for their final sendoff, long before those decisions need to be acted upon.We mention the Natural Death Care Centre in this pod, so as promised, here is the link: www.naturaldeathcarecentre.orgWe hope you enjoy this pod. Moses blamed the people: “Because of you…” But the truth is, God was holding him accountable for his own choices. In this message, Pastor Garrett Marks shows how our view of people can justify disobedience, turn our hearts against God, and even cause us to miss out on victory.Drawing from Deuteronomy 1, Numbers 20, and personal stories, this sermon challenges us to love God, love people, and link shields together in the battle of faith.
Abraham refused discount destiny. In Genesis 23 he pays full price for a burial field, establishing legal dominion in the Promised Land. Send us a textAfter years in the desert, the Israelites grumble again when water runs out. Moses loses his patience and strikes the rock instead of speaking to it, and God sadly tells him he will not lead the people into Canaan. Later, as the people complain, poisonous snakes sweep through the camp. God gives a surprising rescue plan. Moses lifts a bronze snake on a pole, and everyone who looks in faith is healed. This story points to Jesus, who would be lifted up on the cross so that everyone who believes in Him can live forever. Moses prays and tells everyone to bring bowls of incense so God can show whom He has chosen. Isaiah 54 calls barren hearts and barren churches to sing, enlarge, and expect. In this opening conference message, Pastor Chris Aulson casts vision for a “spiritual baby boom”: fruit that remains, disciples raised, and churches planted to the ends of the earth. Learn how God often allows our limits to surface so His power can be seen, why faith sings before it sees, and what it practically means to “lengthen cords and strengthen stakes.” The service concludes with targeted prayer for fruitfulness and for couples believing for a miracle.https://TakingTheLandPodcast.comSUBSCRIBE TO PREMIUM FOR MORE:• Subscribe for only $3/month on Supercast: https://taking-the-land.supercast.com/• Subscribe for only $3.99/month on Spotify: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/taking-the-land/subscribe• Subscribe for only $4.99/month on Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/3vy1s5b

A call to reject “Gospel Lite” and become a generation God can interrupt. From Jonah 1:1–3, we see how comfort and plans collide with God's mission. Examples from Pastor Wayman Mitchell and Pastor Joe Campbell show how yielded lives gain weight and anointing. Jesus models a life that is fully focused yet instantly interruptible (John 5). The call touches the whole home like Abraham and Isaac (Genesis 22). A Himalayan rescue story shows why carrying a burden keeps you alive. While Strength&Solidarity is on a break we're taking the chance to re-up some favourite episodes.Last April, in Episode 51, I talked with Negin Shiraghaei, founder of Azadi Network, about her work to build a network for Iranians in the diaspora – as a common space for advancing human rights and democracy at home. She talked about the complexity of the task, and the value of embracing lessons from failure. Here's the orginal show notes:In the quarter century since Iran's Islamic revolution, thousands of Iranians have left their home to live in exile. Although they all have a country in common, that diaspora is hugely diverse – coming from different generations and with a wide range of origin stories, political allegiances and views about the change they would like to see in Iran. When in 2022 a young woman in Iran was beaten and killed by the morality police for wearing her hijab incorrectly, anger across the exile community suggested favorable conditions for a diaspora movement for rights in Iran to emerge. But what form should such a movement take? The founder and co-director of Azadi Network, Negin Shiraghaei, reflects on the choices she and other organizers faced as they took up that challenge. And in the Coda, Turkish eco-activist Burcu Meltem Arik shares a poem by Nazim Hikmet reminding us of what nature can teach us about resilience. "How to Be Free”TaHa 70-72Surat TaHa famously illustrates themes of liberation from slavery. How does that apply to us in our modern context? In this thought-provoking episode, we delve into the profound concepts of liberation and detachment from Dunya illustrated by the magicians' martyrdom in the story of Musa (s). You will learn:

While they wash dishes, Mom shares a story from long ago about neighbors who brought food when their pantry was empty. Their kindness led the family to church and closer to God. Years later, Mom helps run a soup kitchen and shelter, showing God's love in action. The governor noticed, but the best reward is serving others. After the offering (skip to 12:50), Pastor Brown preaches “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” from Exodus 28:1–2,12. We are not self-made. God designs leaders and believers to carry names on our shoulders and on our hearts—with affection and responsibility.Key movements: Abraham's intercession for Lot, Israel blessed “for the fathers' sake,” Aaron bearing Israel's names, foundations with the apostles, our fellowship's promise, supporting tired leaders like Moses, honoring modern giants, rescuing giants like David, Paul's lonely burden, and God's memorials—Cornelius' prayers, fragrant giving, and Mordecai remembered.Call to action: become a “hiding place” (Isaiah 32:2). Put real names on your shoulders in prayer, service, and sacrificial giving. God remembers the carriers.Scriptures referenced: Exodus 28; Genesis 19; Deuteronomy 9; Revelation 21:14; Isaiah 58:12; Matthew 23:4; Galatians 6:2; Exodus 17; 2 Samuel 21; 2 Corinthians 11:28; 2 Timothy 4:16; Acts 10; Philippians 4:18–19; Matthew 25:35–40; Esther 2,6; Isaiah 32:2.Chapters12:50 Standing on Shoulders • Text: Exodus 28; Newton quote15:20 Giants and Intercession • Abraham rescues Lot18:40 Not Our Righteousness • Fathers and foundations22:10 Names on the Priest • Carried before the Lord25:30 Shoulders and Heart • Affection + responsibility28:45 The Weight Leaders Carry • COVID lesson31:30 Blessed to Bless • Carry across tribes34:50 Hold Up Moses' Hands • Supporting elders38:00 Honoring Giants Today • Campbell example40:30 When Giants Need Help • Abishai saves David42:40 Paul's Burden and Loneliness45:00 Memorial Before God • Cornelius, aroma of giving47:20 “Least of These” • Esther & Mordecai remembered50:00 Be a Hiding Place • Isaiah 32:252:30 Prayer for Weary Pastors • Altar responseShow NotesALL PROCEEDS GO TO WORLD EVANGELISMLocate a CFM Church near you: https://cfmmap.orgWe need five-star reviews! Send us a textWhen God's special tent was finished, He chose helpers to care for it. Moses called the people together and showed that Aaron would be the high priest, with special clothes that jingled with tiny bells and a shining breastplate with twelve jewels. The Levites would pack, carry, and set up the tent wherever God led. Aaron's sons lit sweet incense from God's holy fire, reminding everyone of His promise to send Jesus to save us. But two sons disobeyed and used their own fire, teaching the people the wrong lesson about God's holiness. God wants loving obedience because His work is special, and He keeps His promise to rescue us through Jesus. It can sometimes seem as though fighting for queer rights in a hostile society is an unwinnable project. All too often, punitive laws, state violence, economic exclusion and social hostility are stacked against a community that is isolated and excluded. That's certainly true in Tunisia and other North African countries. But in this episode, queer Tunisian activist Assala Mdawkhy tells host Akwe Amosu that creating safe spaces and building a movement for LGBTQI rights should be taken as indicators of staying power and eventual success.
