Today we had the opportunity to interview the World Bank Chief Economist for the Africa Region— Albert Zeufack! He explained what his role is at the World Bank, along with the vast inequalities present in many regions in Africa. He also highlighted how climate change has greatly affected the poverty rates in developing countries. It's been a while! This episode was recorded last year for the annual NPR Podcast Competition. The whole podcast team got together to record a special episode for the NPR Podcast Competition. Together, we discussed the difficulties and struggles that immigrants coming to the United States go through. One of our members of our podcast team is a foreign exchange student from China and was able to share her experiences with her friend who is also a foreign-exchange student from China. All of the members of this club have at least one parent who is an immigrant from another country. While listening to this episode, you will hear about unique stories from various countries including Peru, China, Taiwan, Nicaragua, and Lebanon. We hope you guys enjoy!
In today's episode Kathy, Amy, and Christina discuss ways they are being productive during quarantine, a stressful and anxious time for many. They talk about things ranging from the importance of journaling to propagating plants. Remember, this does not need to be a time to do everything and be super productive. Personally, the three of us definitely have not been completely consistent with doing the things we discussed. Be kind to yourself and remember that relaxing and enjoying free time is a perfect things to do!
