Today I take a look at three great resources that I use for tips and tricks on helping me live a more sustainable and eco friendly life. Maybe it might help you. The first is Kailash eco village, when in 2007 Ole and Maitri Ersson bought the rundown Cabana apartment complex in the city and turned the paved parking space into what it is today which is a huge permaculture co-living space and urban food forest. The Kailash Ecovillage has 55 residents who all help farm where there was once pavement, grass, a swimming pool, and an overgrown weed patch. https://www.kailashecovillage.org/ the second is The EcoVillage at Ithaca, which was established in 1991 and has become a mature communal village with three neighbourhoods developed on 10% of the land with 90% of the land devoted to farmland and natural areas. https://ecovillageithaca.org/ And lastly we have Rob Greenfield, who believes that our actions really do matter and that as individuals, and communities we have the power to improve the world around us. Rob donates 100% of his media earnings to grassroots nonprofits and has committed to living simply and responsibly for life. https://www.robgreenfield.org/

Todays episode was inspired by one of our colleagues Marc who gave a speech about being your own coach. key book referred to is - Atomic Habits by James Clear some key take aways: change your habits, change your life 1% better every day Noticing / something that is Obvious eg too much plastic being baught - so make my own snacks = energy balls Wanting / Easy —> desirable 4 ingredients no baking or equipment needed Doing / Attractive —> 2min or less do it know, quantity over quality - one picture v 100, optimize for the STARTING LINE Liking / Satisfying —> like it stick to it…reward now in the moment teach next generation Motivation or Plan - when, where, how (gives Clarity) Keep few steps between good behaviour Put many steps between bad behaviour Habit stacking brushing teeth (old habit) add flossing (new habit) mobile phone in bag away from me or delete apps on phone. Actions you take provide evidence - become a runner, become a reader, become a writer
