About Marnie WillsFor years, I was the entrepreneur who outsourced anything remotely technical. As the founder of SportyMinis (an early years physical education business) and an health and fitness business called SportsFit, I built successful companies despite—not because of—technology. I was convinced that tech just wasn't my thing, and frankly, I was okay with that. Then February 2023 happened. On a recommendation, I reluctantly tried Jasper AI for some ad copy. What I expected was rubbish copy, super generic and cost an arm and a leg. Instead, it was completely different—cheap as chips and I actually loved going back and forth chatting with Jasper about what I wanted. It really was a moment of clarity. For the first time, I didn't need to be technical to leverage powerful technology. I was thriving with confidence and felt so productive.https://www.linkedin.com/in/marnie-wills-entrepreneur/https://businesswithaistrategist.com/---------------------------------About Miriam SchulmanMiriam Schulman | Artpreneur Coach | Creative Flow Catalyst | Spiritual TechnologistMiriam Schulman is a creative entrepreneur, best-selling author, and soulful business mentor whose work lives at the intersection of art, artificial intelligence, and authentic expression. Early in her career, she struggled to hit her first six figures, battling the same limiting beliefs that hold many entrepreneurs back—believing she had to work harder to deserve success, that big money was only for "other people," and that she simply wasn't wired for exponential growth. But when she discovered Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and began shifting her beliefs, everything changed. She went from struggling to scaling, eventually creating $100,000 months and teaching others to do the same.Today, as the founder of Ursula Inc., a five-time bestselling author, and a sought-after speaker, she has helped thousands of business owners double or triple their revenue while working less. The secondhand clothing market isn't equipped for textile recycling. So when your donated clothes don't sell, where do they end up?With the rise of overconsumption and fast fashion, clothes have piled up in thrift stores, landfills, and incinerators around the world. Countries like Ghana and Chile are dealing with fashion waste from countries like the U.S., UK, and China, and the impacts are vast. Mountains of clothes lead to fires, polluted waterways, dying ocean life, and lost livelihoods. So how do we stop the cycle? How can we donate with purpose and dignity, and get fashion brands to actually take accountability for the full lifecycle of their clothes?Listen to hear what our community does with their used clothes, how a new law could force companies to clean up their act, and how Los Angeles's Suay Sew Shop is dealing with the untenable amount of clothing donations from wildfire relief. ➡️ If you want to support Suay Sew Shop, you can browse their site here and contribute to their Textiles Aren't Trash fire relief campaign. After a rather innocuous fall, resulting in a broken spine, 3 prolapsed discs and a dislocated pelvis, doctors discovered she had a severe degenerative disc disease and was told she would never be able to do any form of high impact or heavy load exercise again. So she focussed instead on yoga, meditation and her mindset. Within a few months it became apparent that the benefits she gained from practising yoga would not just be physical, but mental. Within 6 months, Alex was stronger physically and mentally than ever before.  While she now still endures pain, it is manageable, predominantly, she feels, as a result of having a new positive relationship with her body. She went on to train as a teacher in India and has since travelled the world teaching yoga in some wonderful places. She has also written and created 6 top selling beginners yoga dvds, and reached #1 on the Amazon UK fitness charts.Alex is also a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and combines her love and knowledge of the holistic world with psychotherapy. Welcome to The Vancouver Life Podcast! In this episode, we dive into the forces shaping the future of Vancouver's real estate market with Josh White, the General Manager of Planning, Urban Design, and Sustainability for the City of Vancouver. Josh brings a wealth of experience from his time as Director of City and Regional Planning and Co-Chief Planner at the City of Calgary, and now leads Vancouver's planning efforts at a time when housing supply, affordability, and urban development are more critical than ever. We discuss the lessons he's learned from his time in Calgary and brought to Vancouver, and how the city is tackling some of its biggest affordability challenges. We dig into the complexities of Vancouver's permitting process, why timelines under the City's ambitious 3-3-3-1 Plan have been difficult to meet, and whether hiring more staff is really the solution. Josh sheds light on the city's plan to streamline over 1,800 pages of policy documents into just 100 pages and what that will mean for builders and homeowners. We also explore upcoming system changes that could cut permit times in half by allowing Development Permits and Building Permits to be processed in parallel. Josh shares his take on Bill 47 and how transit-oriented development is shaping the future. We tackle the long and often frustrating process developers face to rezone and build towers, why Vancouver's city fees are among the highest in Canada, and how Development Cost Levies impact affordability and cash flow. We ask where these funds are being spent, whether there's accountability in how they're used, and discuss the city's evolving stance on banning natural gas in new homes. Josh also weighs in on Bob Rennie's recent proposal to allow foreign buyers to participate in pre-sales with long-term rental commitments, and we talk about changes to REDMA that give developers more breathing room in today's challenging market. Lastly, Josh shares his vision for housing in Vancouver, how builders can help streamline processes at City Hall, the conversations happening around affordability, and how sustainability is built into every decision the city makes for the future. This is an in-depth conversation you won't want to miss if you care about the future of housing in Vancouver.Josh White joined the City of Vancouver in May of 2024, coming from Calgary where most recently he was Director, City and Regional Planning and Co-Chief Planner at the City of Calgary. There, he stewarded the adoption of a new housing strategy in collaboration with partners and led the creation of a simpler and more effective planning policy and regulation. During a period of extraordinary population growth for the city, Josh also oversaw strategic growth, growth funding and financing, and infrastructure planning for the municipality. In his tenure at the City of Calgary, he also initiated and led the significant transformation of the development approvals system, which resulted in improved planning outcomes, benchmarked as among the most efficient in Canada. He holds a master's degree in urban and regional planning from Queen's University, and began his career in the private sector, serving a variety of private and public sector clients as a consultant with Urban Strategies in Toronto. 7 Ways to Be More Mindful with Your Money

When I first start working with my money coaching clients, I set the expectation that the first month of our budgeting and tracking together is more about mindfulness than control. I'm not focused on how well they can control their spending right off the bat. I'm more focused on how mindful and intentional they are. Are they aware of what they're doing with their money, or is it mindless behavior? Before any positive change can happen, awareness is the first step. You can't fix a problem you don't know exists. In this episode, I'm sharing 7 ways to be more mindful with your money. Build that awareness of your money habits, patterns and decisions. Then, make changes where you see fit.   Here's a glance at this episode: [02:23] If your total monthly income doesn't cover your monthly expenses and spending, you need to find additional means of income. [05:31] It's not enough to just create your budget. We need to close the loop by tracking your spending to make sure you're sticking to the budget. [09:08] We only have so many resources when it comes to our income. We can only dedicate so much to goals. Focusing on 1-2 goals at a time is a great starting point. [14:33] Some examples of values people can align their spending to include family, friendships, time freedom, and working for yourself. [18:24] Consume better things for your mind. Mindfulness isn't just effective in money – it is extremely effective in our overall lives as well.   Rate, Review, & Follow: Did you love this episode?
