GAW Text Dear WLS or Reviews +1 743 500 2171 Public Show Titles Dear WLS Question from Ben B from Kansas Ben B (TLDR from last week: Bought a Bergara B14-HMR that wouldn't group and had a crooked-looking scope. After replacing the rail, rings, and checking the scope, a gunsmith finally discovered the rifle's mounting holes were drilled at a 45° angle from the factory. The manufacturing defect that made proper alignment impossible.)Continuation of the story from where it cut off last week- We looked in there and about half the threaded hole in the receiver was visible through the rail. Well shit… We tried a different rail and it was the same. I decided to contact Bergara to see if they would fix it. I started a warranty case with them and they sent an RMA form and asked me to ship the rifle to them. I sent it over and assumed that everything would be straightened out. After several weeks with zero updates, I called and asked for some kind of information. I even gave them exact instructions on how to replicate the problem. They said they would update me when they got it into their system and when they got started on the inspections. After they had it for a month they finally shipped it back and their conclusion was that the rifle was in spec. About a million emails later and both sides being stubborn, I gave up. Obviously they weren't going to fix it and I was at my wit's end. I brought it back to the gunsmith and had him drill and re tap the receiver holes to a big enough size to line it up. In spec my ass. Ever since then the Bergara name has left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not really on social media and don't know how to get through how bad of an experience I had with them because I think people need to know. I am sorry for the long story but I already left a lot of details out. Question from Peter J from WA Peter J from WA, Dear WLS, I'm interested in either buying a factory ported pistol or having one I own custom ported. Is it really worth the hype? Im debating on either getting a CZ ported P10c or getting my CZ P10F ported. Use case would be more for range but would carry the ported p10c since I carry a non ported one currently. I more than with do what Jeremy or Nick tell me what to do. Thanks Question from eTexNerd from Texas Dear wls, from eTexNerdFirst a big Ole howdy from the upper east side of Texas to Tom Bowers! Question: once Bowers group is running production in Texas, won't I be able to buy his suppressors without federal redtape?
Roses have a reputation for being high-maintenance, but the best rose breeders are chasing a different future: roses that bloom for months, shrug off disease, and succeed for everyday gardeners. We sit down with Dr. David Zlesak, a master rosarian and rose breeder, to unpack how roses went from ancient treasures traded across regions to the modern plants you see at big box stores and independent nurseries. We dig into the deep history of cultivated roses, including how genetics is rewriting origin stories and how repeat-bloom traits from historic Chinese roses helped shape today's garden varieties. Then we zoom into what buyers want now, from cut-rose goals like longer shelf life, fewer thorns, and more fragrance, to shifting tastes in flower form influenced by everything from rose shows to English-style, old-fashioned blooms. The conversation turns practical and science-forward: black spot disease resistance, why multiple races make durability hard, and how stacking resistance genes and developing useful genetic markers can speed up breeding progress. We also explore environmental stress, including heat tolerance and winter hardiness, and how the American Rose Trials for Sustainability (ARTS) tests roses regionally to identify truly tough, low-input performers. Finally, David shares how the rose business has changed, why Knock Out roses reset the market's expectations, and the career mindset that keeps him moving: ask what if, focus on market-limiting traits, and build a community of collaborators. If you love gardening, plant breeding, or sustainable horticulture, subscribe for more conversations like this, share the episode with a fellow rose grower, and leave a review so more listeners can find Plants, People, Science.Read more from David Zlesak - Plant Science Students' Thinking Styles and Multiple Intelligences Based on Major, Gender, and CourseThe Effects of Short-term Drying on Seed Germination in RosaNorthern Accents® ‘Lena', ‘Ole', ‘Sigrid', and ‘Sven': Four Cold-hardy Polyantha Rose Cultivars from the University of Minnesota Woody Landscape Plant Breeding ProgramSend us Fan MailLearn more about the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) at https://ashs.org/.HortTechnology, HortScience and the Journal of the American Society for Horticultural Science are all open-access and peer-reviewed journals, published by the American Society of Horticultural Science (ASHS).

Jason Cotta didn't take the classic corporate route to the boardroom. He left school at 16 with almost no qualifications and started on the very lowest rung of the retail ladder. Today, he is the CEO of Arcturus Group overseeing iconic hospitality brands like Pho, Rosa's Thai, and Mowgli. In this episode, Jason shares his fascinating perspective as an "unlikely CEO", breaking down why your career isn't a linear ladder, how he handled massive commercial crises, and why real leaders always pull the next generation up behind them. You'll Learn Why: Linear progression is a myth, and navigating sideways moves can actually make you a much broader, more resilient leader. Overcoming an internal "impostor syndrome" about formal education can unlock a deeper, more strategic intellectual confidence. Successful leaders have a responsibility to actively lift others up the ladder and help them realise their full potential. Finding a corporate culture where you can bring your whole, authentic self to work completely transforms your leadership energy. This episode is living proof that no matter where you're starting from — or what life throws at you — it's never too late to be brave, bold, and unlock your inner brilliant.
What if the only thing standing between your current business and your next major breakthrough isn't a strategy, but a subconscious setting? In this episode, host Doug sits down with Olly Hill, widely recognized as Australia's top hypnotist for wealth, health, and relationships. Olly shares his incredible journey from a childhood crippled by social anxiety to helping six- and seven-figure entrepreneurs smash through their glass ceilings. They dive deep into the mechanics of the conscious vs. subconscious mind, the true power of intuition, and why it's actually harder to stay stuck and miserable than it is to let go of your problems and succeed. Whether you're looking to scale your business, conquer deep-seated confidence issues, or figure out why your "subconscious air conditioner" keeps cooling down your wins, this conversation provides the ultimate roadmap to flipping the switch on your highest potential. ### Mentioned in this Episode • The CHEK Institute (Paul Chek Holistic Lifestyle Coaching) • Marcel Klein (Hypnosis Training based in Los Angeles) • Alex Hormozi (Referenced business frameworks and success traits) • Joseph Campbell (The Hero's Journey and the Archetype framework) • The Art of War by Sun Tzu • Ancient Poetry by Rumi Connect with the Guest - Ole Hill Instagram: instagram.com/summithypnosis Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@summit-hypnosis Website: summithypnosis.net/about Connect with Doug Beitz: Email: info@dougbeitz.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dougbeitz/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dougbeitz/ Website: https://buymeacoffee.com/dougbeitz Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6mQ258nugC3lyw3SpvYuoK?si=7cec409527d34438 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/intuitive-conversations-with-doug/id1593172364 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/doug-beitz-472a4b338/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dougbeitz178

A kid gets asked to “play a scale” by one of the greatest cellists who ever lived and has no idea what a scale is. That moment could have ended in embarrassment and retreat, but for Ole Akahoshi it became the beginning of a lifelong education in craft, taste, and what it really means to make the cello sing. The Cello Sherpa Podcast Host, Joel Dallow, sits down with Ole Akahoshi, cellist and faculty at the Yale School of Music and Manhattan School of Music Prep Division, to trace his path from a music-filled childhood in Germany to studying with Pierre Fournier in Geneva. Ole shares what Fournier was like in lessons, what got written into his parts, and why those markings still matter. We also talk about the voice behind tone production, how phrasing and “good taste” shape interpretation, and why some technical ideas only click years later. From there, we shift into Ole's teaching world at Yale, including how the undergraduate studio fits into Yale's unique setup, and what he listens for when a student is chasing speed and flash. Ole lays out practical fundamentals like breathing, balance, and tension and release, plus a teaching philosophy built around curiosity and better questions. We also get his honest take on competitions, judging, confidence, and a pair of career-defining prompts he asks every freshman: who are you, and what do you want?If you enjoyed this conversation, subscribe, share it with a cellist or teacher, and leave a review so more musicians can find the show. What's one foundation you want to rebuild in your playing? For more information on Ole: https://music.yale.edu/people/ole-akahoshiIf you are looking for in person/virtual cello lessons, or orchestral repertoire audition coachings, check out www.theCelloSherpa.com

Covenant AI had used Bittensor subnets 3, 39, and 89 before its abrupt and controversial decision to depart for other digital shores.Gareth Howells, a co-founder of Vidaio (Bittensor Subnet 85), joined Jason and Alex to share the community perspective regarding Covenant's decision to leave Bittensor, a choice that was especially bitter given that its recently-released Covenant-72B model trained using the network's decentralized capabilities was hailed at the time as a demonstration of the crypto-AI hybrid's potential.
