Jay and Kristen dive deep with Steve about the rampant abuse that can occur in an isolated missionary community and how Steve's experience with his  Muslim friends in Kazhakstan changed his perspective.  In the years after 9/11, Slocum watched with concern as Muslims were misrepresented and feared. He authored a book – “Why Do They Hate Us? Making Peace with the Muslim World” – to set the record straight on the peaceful mainstream of Islam.
