Hey hey everyone, Thank you for tuning in to another episode of me time; we are so happy to have you here with us
Hello hello! Welcome back to another episode of me time and thank you so much for tuning in. In this week's episode, we were joined by Zara Guppy from @aspoonofpeanutbutter to bring you this discussion all about social media. From the good to the bad, such as online friendships and diet culture, we focus on what it's really like having a (relatively) large following on Instagram. It was a really interesting conversation and we can't wait for you to share it with us
Hello lovely listeners!! Welcome back to a brand new episode of me time - this week featuring another fantastic guest, Hannah Smith. Hannah is a fellow UoE student as well as a one of Emma's best friends from school and she also happens to be half German, half Aussie. In this episode we dived right into discussions about identity and the impact bilingualism can have on it. We also went into the themes of inclusion vs exclusion, belonging, where "home " is and much more. So pop in some headphones, get outside, and enjoy a bit of me time. Thank you again to Hannah for coming on and sharing her personal experiences with us
Hello again lovely listeners! We are so excited to bring you this week's episode all about fictional representations of women - from literature to film and TV. Our guest, Sofia, is a budding writer, musician, founder of OCCSO, feminist, fellow UoE student and, most important all, Maya's BFF
Hey hey lovely listeners, We hope you're all well :) We are back after a mini hiatus with another brand new episode of me time and, although we always say it, it's a good one. This week we welcomed Karishma Balasubramanian onto the podcast, a fellow UoE student and part of the lifestyle section of The Student. She is also a member of FemSoc and this sparked some great discussions about the patriarchy, internalised misogyny, intersectionality, our personal definitions of and relationship to feminism... and so much more. So get yourself a pair of headphones and enjoy a bit of me time
Hey hey lovely listeners, We are both back this week with a brand new episode all about Hot Girl Summer. WTF even is it? For starters, we speak about the origin of the concept, moving onto how and why it may have deviated from this to something with slightly less positive connotations. Or maybe it hasn't - we don't want to take a light-hearted concept too seriously, after all. This episode is a bit of a more relaxed chat about our opinions on and plans for summer, be it "hot girl" edition or not. We also share some of our favourite ways to fight the heat, stay healthy and, most importantly, happy. We hope you enjoy this summery instalment of me time and have a wonderful week
Hello wonderful listeners, Happy bank holiday Monday! In celebration of my 21st birthday, on today's episode I am joined with my sister, Florence (@florencemsargent). What started as a drafted episode to discuss some of our favourite memories, merged into conversations about youth activism, the upcoming G7 Summit which is coincidentally being held in our town and so much more. Florrie is our youngest guest we have had on 'Me Time' so it was fascinating to hear from a younger perspective, from someone who is experiencing an entirely different environment in college life in Cornwall. We wanted to use the space to dive into Florrie's experiences involving the G7 and her ideas to connect younger generations in Cornwall with these big political events; in hopes of encouraging engagement and interaction between generations within a county that is so heavily divided in age brackets. We also had to talk about some of our favourite memories growing up, so we hope you enjoy those and find them as funny as we did when reminiscing! Unfortunately Em couldn't join us today, we really missed her but she'll be back next week, I promise! Have a wonderful week. Lots of love, Maya xxxxx Mentioned: Django Unchained (Film) Accidents Happen by Louise Millar (Book) We're On Our Way Now by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (Song) Follow us: @metime_podcast @mayasargent @fruitsandroutes
Hello lovely listeners, We are back with another episode this week which we are really excited to share with you. Unfortunately, Em and I are back recording remotely so we thought we would touch base and reflect on how are feeling as lockdown restrictions are easing, restaurants and pubs are opening for indoor seating and there seems to be a general shift of positivity in the air. As cinemas are also now open, we were inspired to reminisce about some of our favourite and least favourite film and TV adaptations, with some suggestions from you guys as well. If you want to join in with our community, you can follow us on @metime_podcast! Also, as inspired by a segment from one of our favourite magazines, Grazia, it seemed fitting to included some tips on how we decompress after busy days now that they seem more regular! We hope you enjoy

Hi lovely listeners! Welcome back to another episode of ME time, we're so happy to have you here. Today's episode is a juicy one that hit really close to home for both of us because it's all about people pleasing - something that we are both guilty of. We're opening up about the effects of toxic positivity, our fear of rejection, the link between people pleasing and patriarchy, the struggle to say "no" and the overuse of "sorry" in conversation. So put your headphones in, get some fresh air, and enjoy a bit of ME time
