Doorstep delivery services boomed during the Covid-19 pandemic and they're still popular in many parts of the world: ordering hot meals, or groceries, via a mobile app to your door at the click of a button. For the customer, it's a fast and convenient service. For the rider, it's flexible work, but there's no guaranteed income, the work is physical and the hours are often antisocial - especially during major holidays like Christmas and New Year. Why, then, do so many people do it? We speak to riders in the US and UK about their experiences delivering food, drinks and other essentials to customers at all hours of the day.If you'd like to get in touch with the programme, you can send us an email to businessdaily@bbc.co.ukPresenter: David Harper Producer: Victoria Hastings(Picture: A delivery rider on a scooter, travelling through a city at night. What really happens when a nurse walks through a patient's front door instead of a hospital doorway? In this episode of Home Health Revealed, host Hannah Vale heads into the field with home health nurses in snowy Northeast Ohio and then sits down with leaders from Lorain County Community College and the Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice to unpack what she witnessed firsthand. You'll hear from: Christopher Hirschler, Dean of the Health and Wellness Science Division at Lorain County Community College Lisa Von Lemden, Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice Hannah DiVencenzo, Program Developer at Lorain County Community College Cynthia Kushner, Director of School, Workforce and Community partnerships Abigail Farabaugh, Career and Academic Advisement Professional Together, they share powerful stories from recent ride‑alongs: organizing overflowing baskets of medications, navigating homes transformed into care spaces, and supporting families through heartbreaking seasons with remarkable resilience. You'll also hear about those “oh no” moments—like expired blood tubes in the trunk—and how strong team backup turns solo visits into a true network of care. Listen in to learn: Why being invited into a patient's home is “sacred” work and how it reveals social determinants of health in real time, from housing quality to family support to mental health. How home health nurses flex between roles—clinician, educator, advocate, problem‑solver, even “therapist”—often in the same visit. What schedule flexibility, point‑based pay models, and documentation from home actually look like in a real nurse's day (including coffee breaks between visits). How AI and technology are changing preparation for visits, decision‑making, and mentorship for newer nurses entering home health. Why home care can be a smart career move for nurses who want autonomy, meaningful one‑on‑one time with patients, and strong earning potential—without punching a time clock. The episode also highlights new workforce and education partnerships, including a $2 million Department of Higher Education investment into the Center for Community Based Care to grow and support the next generation of home health and hospice clinicians across Ohio. Lorain County Community College shares how it is exposing students to home health early—through ride‑alongs, pathways content, and mentorship—so they can discover if this deeply relational kind of nursing is the right fit. If you're: A nursing student wondering what's beyond the ICU or med‑surg, A nurse craving more control over your time and deeper patient relationships, or An educator or leader trying to build stronger home health pathways… …this episode will challenge your assumptions about what nursing “has” to look like and show you what's possible when care comes to the couch instead of the bedside. Two Mormon missionaries knock on the wrong door in A24's psychological thriller Heretic, starring Hugh Grant as a man who traps them in his home for a deadly debate about religion. This episode digs into the film's exploration of faith, proselytizing, and the fine line between genuine discussion and manipulation. We examine how the movie humanizes its missionary protagonists while challenging both religious certainty and militant atheism. Hugh Grant's character mirrors the psychological control tactics religions have historically employed, creating a disturbing reflection that questions whether any side of the faith debate has clean hands.Questions We Discuss:Does the horror genre enhance or distract from the film's religious debate? Are the Mormon missionaries or Hugh Grant's character the real "sea lions" in this conversation? How does the film challenge both rigid faith and aggressive atheism? What does the ambiguous ending say about belief and proof? Can you maintain faith while acknowledging contradictions in your religion? Why does the film intentionally leave the supernatural elements unresolved?**************************************************************************This episode is a production of Superhero Ethics, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. Steve Bannon joins me on today's show to discuss everything happening on the world stage. As Scott Bessent's list of Fed Chair candidates dwindles away, he is only prolonging the inevitable, him being dual hatted as Fed Chair and Secretary of Treasury. China's recent stronghold of rare earth minerals has created more tension as Bessent rebuked the top Chinese trade negotiator calling him "very disrespectful." Bannon wants people to wake up as the economic war China is waging on the U.S. is the precursor to kinetic war between the two superpowers. At the sametime, President Zelensky is seeking U.S. tomahawk missiles to infiltrate Russia's mainland and end the assault on Ukraine. President Putin has already stated that this is the same as U.S. involvement in the ongoing conflict and he is ready to send two million more troops. Bannon says the rising tensions between these two countries have reached the most dangerous point in history. As the deepstate bides its time with President Trump's presidency, heavy prosecution must come down or else they will reclaim power as soon as he leaves office. The FBI is shutting down conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk's assassination but Bannon does not believe the official narrative at all. While having trust and faith in Kash Patel as FBI Director, he must bring the receipts that make the story and the timeline make sense. The Colossian churches had shifted their attention from Christ to calendrical matters, mediatorial figures, mystical visions, and philosophical notions. Paul is calling them to focus on Christ, who is the center and circumference of reality. In 2:9, Paul's language makes Christ's full deity unavoidable and unmistakeable. It explores the issues and potential solutions through the eyes of three food campaigners with firsthand experience of food poverty in urban communities, as well as others working to tackle the problem. Our message today is inspired by the Spencerville Church mission statement: "To know Jesus and make Him known,” and our vision statement: "To be a community of disciples ready to serve Jesus anytime, anywhere." We'll explore why simply stepping through a church door can be a supernatural act of God, and how understanding this can change our entire approach to church and how we see others who enter our doors! Sometimes, it only takes a simple "hello" to move someone from doorstep to disciple! We invite you to listen and worship with us as Pastor Chad Stuart shares our message, "From Doorstep to Disciple."

For this 3 part bonus mini series, hosts Jennifer Thomas and Patrick Mason are joined by Aaron Dorfman of A More Perfect Union to explore the experiences of Latter-day Saints as a minority community, especially in the wake of recent events that highlight the challenges faced by religious minorities. They reflect on the importance of understanding the dynamics of being part of a smaller faith community, particularly outside of Utah, and the varied relationships that can arise from this position. The discussion emphasizes the opportunity to learn from other communities, particularly the Jewish community, which has a long history of navigating religious minority status in often unfriendly societies. For this 3 part bonus mini series, hosts Jennifer Thomas and Patrick Mason engage in a thoughtful conversation with Paul Lambert from the Wheatley Institute. Together, they explore the complex emotions and tensions that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may experience when feeling attacked or judged. The discussion highlights three common responses: retreating inward, trying to correct misunderstandings, and defending one's beliefs. In this episode, Jay recounts a chilling childhood encounter in rural Virginia, where a massive, dog-like creature emerged from the woods, rose onto two legs, and vanished into his family's property. What followed was a terrifying night of unnatural growls and screams that left his family scrambling for safety and questioning reality. Now, decades later, Jay revisits the memory he once buried, tying it to other strange phenomena and the charged history of the land, convinced that what he saw was no ordinary animal. His story blurs the line between trauma, folklore, and the possibility of something far older stalking the woods. Please pray for Tony's wife, Lindsay, as she battles breast cancer.
