Oasis were the biggest band on the planet for a moment. They famously warred with Britpop rivals Blur, and the Brothers Gallagher feuded with each other in public and came to blows numerous times behind closed doors. The success of their massively popular second album skyrocketed the band to international fame and brought unwanted, intense pressure from the British tabloids, causing frontman Liam Gallagher to slide into a drunken stupor that would threaten to break up the band and distract Noel Gallagher from doing what he did best: write songs. All of the dysfunction, humor, hedonism and hooliganism that is Oasis comes to a head in this, the second part of the Oasis saga. This episode was originally published on April 13, 2021. In Episode 256 of Outside The Round, host Matt Burrill catches up with rising country artist Tyler Nance for a powerful and personal conversation. Fresh off a wave of momentum from his breakout hit “Keeps Me Sane,” Tyler shares his journey navigating the Nashville scene, finding his voice as a songwriter, and staying grounded amidst rising attention. The two dive into Tyler's recent festival performances, the song's emotional roots, and how his former life as a welder influences his storytelling. With raw honesty, Tyler opens up about anxiety, mental health, and the importance of faith and redemption in both life and music. From small-town recognition to Nashville networking, he reflects on the challenges of the grind and the purpose behind the music. With his new project Midwest Memoir on the way, this episode is a window into the heart of a songwriter driven by authenticity, resilience, and connection. In today's Glossys, there are reports Liam and Noel Gallagher are the only ones with a free guest list on the Oasis reunion tour, while everyone else has to cough up for their plus-ones. Whoopi Goldberg’s London show is struggling so badly that tickets are being flogged at 90% off. The Trombone Corner Podcast is brought to you by Bob Reeves Brass and The Brass Ark. Join hosts Noah and John as they interview Paul the Trombonist. About Paul the Trombonist: Paul Nowell, widely recognized as "Paul The Trombonist," is a multi-talented artist rooted in Los Angeles, boasting roles as a music producer, songwriter, entrepreneur, performer, educator, YouTuber, and esteemed trombonist. His diverse skill set has led to private performances for a star-studded audience that includes names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, and Charlize Theron, among others. Garnering tens of millions of views, his original content videos stand testament to his growing acclaim. In his formative years, while performing in a jazz club in Cleveland with his ensemble, Paul caught the attention of Ron Ellington Shy — a notable figure linked to Duke Ellington and known for his involvement with the Drifters and Coasters. This chance encounter propelled him into collaborative projects with Ellington Shy. Not just that, his youth also witnessed a stint to perform with jazz icon Chico Hamilton's band, a worldwide tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and participation in the Tony-award-winning "best musical" "Memphis" written by Bon Jovi's keyboardist, David Bryan. His collaboration with the ten-time Grammy awardee Arturo Sandoval to create a series of online videos saw a meteoric rise to fame, captivating millions globally. The world of comedy has embraced Paul too, thanks to his collaborative performances with the renowned comedian Sinbad, amalgamating music and humor in an unprecedented style. His rich portfolio further extends to performances with soul music royalty Aretha Franklin, Seth MacFarlane — the brain behind Family Guy, the legendary Frankie Valli, and Noel Gallagher from Oasis. A proud alumnus of the Berklee College of Music, where he honed his skills under the guidance of trombone maestros including the illustrious Phil Wilson, Paul's journey came full circle when he reunited with Wilson to craft a successful video series, a project he cherishes dearly. This reunion bore the genesis of "Bone Masters," a pioneering internet show helmed by Paul, wherein he engages with living legends of the trombone world, orchestrating masterclasses and interviews, thereby creating the most expansive educational video library dedicated to the trombone. Paul's live performances are a league of their own, innovatively blending trombone with technology to forge sounds traversing Jazz, Pop, Hip-Hop, and Electronic genres. Leveraging modern technology and keyboards coupled with trombone improvisations, he crafts a transcendental musical experience. Apart from his musical endeavors, Paul is a well-recognized name in the online business arena, having secured numerous business accolades, including the prestigious 2 Comma Club awards on multiple occasions. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence are evident in every venture he undertakes, showcasing a multifaceted talent who continuously strives for greatness in the music industry and beyond. As a respected member of The Recording Academy, Paul contributes his vote annually at the Grammy Awards, holding a distinguished role in shaping the future of music.

Send us a textCrispian Mills was born into a family of actors, film producers and directors. He was exposed to a wide variety of music, but when he heard “You Really Got Me“ by The Kinks, it was an epiphany – he knew he wanted to play guitar. Through determination and practice, he became a great guitarist. He loved Deep Purple. He loved The Ramones. He played in bands including X-Ray Spex before forming Kula Shaker in 1996. Their debut album K was the fastest-selling debut since the self-titled first record by Elastica. Noel Gallagher, a fan of the band, invited them to open for Oasis at Knebworth. Their album, Peasants, Pigs & Astronauts, was recorded at David Gilmour's Astoria houseboat studio in London with production help from Bob Ezrin, Rick Rubin and George Drakoulias. Kula Shaker have continued to produce great psychedelic Brit-pop over the last couple decades. They released Natural Magick in 2024 as well as two recent singles, “Charge of the Light Brigade” and “Broke as Folk”. A tour with The Dandy Warhols kicks off this fall. Oasis legend Noel Gallagher joins Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent for an unmissable exclusive interview. Noel opens up about why he underestimated the impact of the band's reunion tour and shares insights into his relationship with his brother Liam, saying he's “proud of him.” He also discusses all things Manchester City, giving his views on the club's new-look squad and their chances this season. In 1997, Steve Lamacq thought he was interviewing Noel Gallagher live on Radio 1. So he was delighted when Liam turned up too. He knew the brothers could be unpredictable, but he didn't know that this interview would go down in Oasis history. Their alcohol-fulled, expletive-filled argument was both radio gold and every presenter's nightmare. Steve takes Alice Levine and Matt Forde inside that day. Paul Weller has just covered it on his new album. Morrissey played it to Noel Gallagher who took the idea and ran with it. What explains the enduring appeal of a record that stalled at number 22 all those years ago? Actor/musician Brian Protheroe doesn't know but he's certainly grateful that it's being reissued once again. His story takes us back to:…the days when young musicians hitch-hiked to London…the way the sun shone on the day “Sgt Pepper” came out…when Soho was a village and an out of work actor could afford to live in Covent Garden…when being dumped by a girl could inspire that actor to diarise his daily routine…when the jazzman who played the solo on the record couldn't remember it for “TOTP”…how it feels to take your grandson to Abbey Road to watch your album being remastered.Pre-order the Chrysalis Red reissue of the first Brian Protheroe album: https://brianprotheroe.lnk.to/PNBFind out more about how to help us to keep the conversation going: https://www.patreon.com/wordinyourear Hosted on Acast. Is “Let Forever Be” the most British song of the '90s? Diallo and LUXXURY take a closer look at this era-defining track from the Chemical Brothers, where big beat production meets Britpop swagger and Beatles-esque psychedelia. They reflect on their favorite moments from the duo's catalog, wade in Noel Gallagher's introspective lyrics, and explore how the song captures a culture in flux. For 15 years, (and up until recently) Oasis were officially not a band. In 2009, Noel quit just hours before they were set to play a festival in France. But back then, everyone just assumed Oasis would return the next week, hatchet buried, ready to pick up where they left off; If there’s one thing Oasis were known for it was regularly being on the brink of imploding. From the very start, Liam and Noel were always squabbling over something. Very public spats were just something they did. Fast forward to 2025, Oasis are back playing live shows again, heading across the world on a reunion tour that includes two shows in Toronto. Of course, Oasis were known for writing big rock anthems in the ‘90s and 2000s - but there is one song of theirs that was bigger than the rest: A ballad that has become customary to learn for everyone that owns an acoustic guitar. I’m talking about “Wonderwall,” a song Noel Gallagher wrote about his imaginary friend. This is the true story of Oasis's Wonderwall with newly unearthed audio from Noel and Liam Gallagher themselves. Written by Cam Lindsay for iHeartRadio.

The Oasis reunion at Wembley Stadium on July 25, 2025, was a night that will be long remembered by fans and music lovers alike. Anticipation buzzed through the air long before the doors opened, as generations of fans gathered under clear summer skies, transforming Wembley Way into a living tribute to Britpop's heyday. The event marked not just a concert, but a celebration—one capturing the spirit of an era and the enduring appeal of the Gallagher brothers' music. From the support acts to the final encore, the evening was a testament to Oasis's profound cultural footprint. Opening with spirited performances from Cast and Richard Ashcroft, the atmosphere only grew more electrifying as dusk settled. Vintage footage and iconic Manchester imagery set the stage, creating an immersive nostalgia trip that connected the audience with the band's roots and musical journey. When Liam and Noel Gallagher finally took the stage, any lingering doubts about their reunion vanished. The band launched into their signature hits, each song met with a stadium-sized chorus as 90,000 voices became one—belting out “Morning Glory,” “Supersonic,” and “Wonderwall” with raw energy. The sibling banter was on display, but so was a genuine affection, making the set both powerful and personal. Emotion reached its peak during “Don't Look Back in Anger” and a moving tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, moments that reminded everyone of the music's power to unite and heal. The closing fireworks during “Champagne Supernova” were more than spectacle—they marked the realization of countless fans' dreams, and a hopeful promise for the future of British rock. This episode isn't just a concert review; it's an invitation to relive a cultural milestone. From backstage anecdotes and crowd vibes to unexpected heartfelt moments on stage, listeners will feel as if they stood shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow fans, singing their hearts out and believing, however briefly, that glory days can return.

Oasis are not only the greatest band of all time but they're the most honest band ever. They always spoke their mind and they didn't try to hide that they loved to get all messed up and would often go on TV off their heads. The US tax and spending bill suggests that to subsidise electric vehicles and solar panels. President Donald Trump is also trying to encourage American allies in Europe and Asia to buy more US liquid natural gas and oil. But experts are arguing that this could allow China a free run at becoming the world's first electricity superpower. Tomorrow marks the official kickoff of the Oasis Reunion Tour, and Fitzy is absolutely PUMPED! Judging by some of the quotes that Noel Gallagher has dropped over the years it may be the greatest show ever. It’s always a treat when someone from the Nova family drops by, and we loved having Jonathon 'J.Mo' Moran on the show. He joined us to chat about his new book, Mental As Anyone: A Toolkit for Surviving and Thriving on the Chaotic Rollercoaster of Life. He opened up about his personal journey and shared some powerful coping strategies for navigating life’s ups and downs. Meanwhile, Wippa revealed the top three most toxic phrases you can use in a relationship (brace yourself), Chrissie fell deep into a Wikipedia rabbit hole and stumbled upon Wippa’s (probably self-authored) page, and Fitzy sparked a hot debate: should you ever meet your heroes?
