Periods. The menstrual cycle. Sex. Relationships. Reproductive Health. This show explores the intersection of these topics and how they are key to achieving optimal health, stronger relationships, empowerment, and true life fulfillment. That may sound far-fetched, but understanding the menstrual cycle--whether you have one or just care about someone who does--is a roadmap to living your best life. The reason so many of us are unhealthy, unfulfilled, and settling for less than we deserve in relationships and in life is because we’re so disconnected from our cyclical nature and the insights it has for us. Tune back into your nature by tuning in each week for unapologetic, honest, and truthful conversations about periods, female reproductive health, relationships, and sexual empowerment. It’s everything you never learned in sex ed (and were afraid to ask!). Periods need better PR and this is where it all begins!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: your menstrual cycle is about SO MUCH MORE than your period! In fact, the main event of your menstrual cycle is really what happens mid-cycle, approximately 2-3 weeks before you bleed--ovulation. It doesn't get the props it deserves, but ovulation is an integral piece of the healthy menstrual cycle puzzle and is actually a sign of overall health in and of itself. In today's episode, I'll be sharing with you 1) why it's so important to ensure that you're ovulating every single cycle; 2) what regular ovulation reveals about your overall health AS WELL AS how it predicts your future health; 3) some common reasons why you may not be ovulating; and 4) how to determine if you've ovulated and if not, what you can do about it.   Connect with Hilary: @hilaryglaus on IG Connect with Point Blank Period podcast:  @pointblankperiod_podcast on IG Point Blank Period podcast on YouTube

Are you connected with your sexual self?  The idea for this week's episode came about as I am struggling with a crisis of identity of sorts. Lately, my thoughts have been preoccupied with questions like: "What do I want more of in my life?" "What type of content am I looking for, what speaks to me?" "How do I want to feel?" I realized that my rational brain and my feeling brain are on totally parallel tracks, which has completely cut me off from my intuition.  In an effort to restore the connection between the two, I realized that this is not the only link that's been severed--the connection to my potent sexual energy has been disrupted, too.  In this episode, we explore the energy of arousal and how it is a pathway to feel how you want to feel and achieve what you want to achieve. When we're turned on, we're tuned in and we can't HELP but manifest whatever we desire!   Mentioned in the show/addt'l resources: Agreement of Self-Reported and Genital Measures of Sexual Arousal in Men and Women: A Meta-Analysis (Meredith L. In this inaugural episode of Point Blank Period, we're talking about sex...education, and of course, periods. Hilary shares her sex ed experience and how it left much to be desired, as well as what she learned (or didn't) about periods as a young person. She shares how the problem with sex ed (or lack thereof) is two-fold: it's sex ed itself, but it's also how boys and girls are separated from one another at such a crucial age and the impact this has on their self-esteem and ability to connect on an intimate level with prospective future partners. She discusses how the lack of openness around sex, periods, and menstrual health discourages curiosity and healthy sexual exploration in kids and contributes to the toxic "men ain't s**t, women ain't s**t" battles raging today that get in the way of meaningful connection.
