At the same time, OD6 is quietly advancing a highly prospective copper VMS project at Gulf Creek in New South Wales, where historical high grades and recent drilling suggest potential for a standalone, company-making discovery. This conversation explores both sides of the OD6 story — a smarter REE flow sheet, and the search for a modern VMS discovery in an overlooked district. Rare Earths at Splinter Rock – Smarter Processing, Lower Capex, Better Product ✔ Heap Leach Breakthrough What started as a "just in case" test alongside traditional tank leach flowsheets has emerged as a breakthrough: heap leaching not only works — it offers higher recoveries, lower reagent use, and slashes capex. 75–80% recoveries from column testwork Removes the need for tanks, filters, tailings dams Simplifies the flowsheet and reduces environmental impact "Everyone expected heap leach to fail with clays. Instead, we found it performs better — less equipment, cheaper, and scalable." – Brett Hazelden ✔ Nanofiltration: A Technical Edge In August 2025, OD6 announced it had successfully trialled nanofiltration on its leach solutions — a key value unlock: Cuts acid use by 80–85% through recycling Reduces downstream plant size by 70% Enhances product purity and ESG credentials Nanofiltration acts like a REE-specific desalination process — separating heavier rare earths from light elements and allowing a high-quality EM-rich product to be recovered with minimal waste. ✔ Orebody Confidence – Consistency at Depth OD6's testwork has focused on the Inside Centre area of Splinter Rock: 120Mt @ ~1600ppm TREO (from a broader 680Mt JORC) Broad, flat geometry with 70–80m of mineralised clays Simple stratigraphy with consistent metallurgy Upcoming bulk column testing with ANSTO is validating how the ore performs across depth zones — the top 40m vs. the bottom 40m — to ensure no surprises in full-scale operations. OD6's Advantage in the Rare Earth Game OD6's rare earth mineralogy is distinct from hard rock monazite or apatite systems, allowing for ambient temperature leaching. Other projects require aggressive cracking at high temperatures — expensive and carbon-intensive. OD6's approach works at room temperature, using simpler, cheaper reagents. "You can't just apply heap leach to any rare earth project. Ours works because of our unique mineralogy — that gives us a genuine technical edge." Strategic Thinking: Beyond China, Beyond Hype OD6 is focused on developing a high-purity, globally marketable rare earth carbonate, and potentially refining it further into selective oxides (e.g., NdPr oxide). “The days of the old virtual bot type of experiences are slowly going away. End consumers will now experience a more personalized, human-touch type of interaction with AI,” said Chang Chang, Sr. Director of Product, Cloud CX Solutions at Webex. A highlight of the announcements was Webex AI Quality Management, a breakthrough that applies to both AI and human agents. “You can't scale quality management with humans listening to every call,” Chang said. “AI makes it possible to review 100% of interactions, score them, and recommend improvements—bridging a long-standing quality gap.” Chang also addressed broader themes of future-proofing, emphasizing Cisco's vision of Connected Intelligence that integrates AI at the edge, in the cloud, and in control systems to create seamless, secure, and scalable CX. BUFFALO, NY – August 15, 2025 – A new #research paper was #published in Volume 16 of Oncotarget on August 13, 2025, titled “Clinical and analytical validation of MI Cancer Seek®, a companion diagnostic whole exome and whole transcriptome sequencing-based comprehensive molecular profiling assay.” In this study, first authors Valeriy Domenyuk and Kasey Benson, along with corresponding author David Spetzler from Caris Life Sciences in Irving, Texas, introduce MI Cancer Seek, an FDA-approved test designed to deliver comprehensive tumor profiling. MI Cancer Seek demonstrated strong concordance with other FDA-approved companion diagnostics and serves as a powerful tool to guide treatment decisions in both adult and pediatric cancer patients. Cancer remains one of the most complex and diverse diseases to treat. With many targeted therapies currently FDA-approved, selecting the right one for a specific patient requires detailed genetic insights. MI Cancer Seek addresses this need by analyzing both DNA and RNA from a single tumor sample. The tool identifies key biomarkers linked to FDA-approved treatments for several major cancers, including breast, lung, colon, melanoma, and endometrial cancers. One of the most significant strengths of MI Cancer Seek is its ability to deliver accurate and reliable results from minimal tissue input (50 ng). Even when analyzing formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples, which are widely used but often degraded, the test maintained high levels of accuracy. It successfully detected important genetic alterations such as PIK3CA, EGFR, BRAF, and KRAS/NRAS mutations and measured tumor mutational burden (TMB) and microsatellite instability (MSI), both of which are key indicators for immunotherapy response. In clinical comparisons, the test achieved over 97% agreement with other FDA-approved diagnostic tools, confirming its reliability in detecting critical biomarkers. Notably, it showed near-perfect accuracy in identifying MSI status in colorectal and endometrial cancers. The researchers also demonstrated that the test maintains precision across different lab conditions and varying DNA input levels, confirming its robustness for routine clinical use. Beyond its role as a companion diagnostic, MI Cancer Seek incorporates additional features developed under its predecessor, MI Tumor Seek Hybrid. These include detection of homologous recombination deficiency, structural variants, and cancer-related viruses. It also includes advanced tools such as the Genomic Probability Score for identifying the tissue of origin in cancers of unknown primary, as well as a gene signature to guide first-line chemotherapy in colorectal cancer. “One limitation to be considered is the low PPA for ERBB2 CNA detection.” By offering deeper genetic insights from a single, small sample, MI Cancer Seek has the potential to streamline diagnostics, reduce testing costs, and connect patients to effective therapies more quickly. As precision medicine continues to expand, this assay stands out as a comprehensive and efficient solution for meeting the evolving needs of modern oncology. Preliminary findings from a recent MIT study in June in the US, concluded that people using just generative AI (Gen AI) tools such as ChatGPT, became lazier with each subsequent essay they wrote. The study, conducted in Boston, categorised three groups of test subjects aged 18 to 39 according to the tools that they used: ChatGPT, Google or no tools. The brain activity of these writers were scanned across 32 regions of their brain. The result found that ChatGPT users had the lowest brain activity, and “consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioural levels,” according to the study. But the way ChatGPT is used was critical, as the study found that test subjects who used ChatGPT only after writing the essays on their own, had significant increases in brain connectivity.
