Serenity S'rae is a 19-year old actress, writer, and performer from Atlanta, Georgia in her second year in Boston University’s BFA Theatre Arts Program. Serenity wrote her first play last semester and is now directing, producing, and devising a play that pays homage to Ntozake Shange, the author of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf, called "Somebody Anybody Sing a Black Girl Song." She has often found herself being the black woman in the room and fights to cultivate spaces for black women to thrive in and safely express themselves artistically.
