Maclean's journalist Claire Gagne looks at what that means for both the young adults stuck in their childhood bedrooms, and their parents' hopes and dreams for retirement — and perhaps an empty nest.

Parenting with the End in Mind: One day, your child is not going to be a child. They'll be an adult. They'll pay their bills and hopefully be responsible. And they'll come to your house to visit for the Holidays. They might need to take a call from work, and you'll see them put their work hat on. You'll see them in relationship with their spouse and watch how they parent. Perhaps they'll go to church with you and you'll see their faith in action. And you will love them no matter what because they are still your baby. But will you like them? Will you like your children if they're just like you? JFD is back to help you ease into November and this month we pay tribute to Teri Garr by taking a look at three of the goofiest entries in her filmography. Up first, OG SNL writer Tom Schiller directs a short for Cinemax Comedy Experiment in 1988 titled Flapjack Floozie starring Teri Garr as a turn-of-the-century singer with and addiction for pancakes that almost spells her demise. Then, the director of License to Drive and the writers of Bill and Ted tell the tale of a boring middle-aged suburban couple (the disgraced Jeffrey Jones and the wonderful Teri Garr) who are kidnapped by an alien dictator (Jon Lovitz) in the visually impressive Mom and Dad Save the World from 1992. And finally, Teri Garr plays the mother of a young boy played by Ben Savage who befriends an alien played by Sinbad, who he finds in a box of cereal and helps him defeat an intergalactic threat in the made-for-TV movie Aliens for Breakfast from 1995. All this plus Thanksgiving food rankings, partying with Metal gods, adventures at the drive-in, blu-rays to get you in the holiday spirit and so much more!LISTEN NOW!:MP3 Direct DonloydAlso, if you like the show, please take a minute and subscribe and/or comment on us on iTunes, Stitcher, Blubrry or Podfeed.net. Jon Casbohm, Executive Director of SkyView Ranch and Camp Patmos joins host Steve Anderson for a conversation about their experiences in engaging a younger generation pursuing ministry who's biggest hurdle is their parent's encouragement to "Prepare for the real world." or "Get a real job." I couldn't believe it. My mom and dad got divorced. I was left feeling even more confused than before. At the same time, I felt a sense of relief because the constant battles were over, but I also felt empty. It was like being abandoned by a parent who's still alive because of things that just happened. I felt powerless, and everything seemed out of my control. Going to my dad's house felt really good, but when it was time to go back to mom's house, I felt an unsettling, often nauseous sensation in my stomach, like butterflies but more intense and persistent
