Season 14, Episode 382 reviews chapters 4–7 of Think and Grow Rich for Sales, showing how autosuggestion, specialized knowledge, imagination, and organized planning transform inner belief into consistent sales results. This episode explains practical steps to program confidence, build authority, paint future outcomes for buyers, and design repeatable sales systems that create certainty and close deals more naturally. Today EP 382 PART 2 of our Think and Grow Rich for Sales Series, we will cover: ✔ Chapter 4: Autosuggestion: How Your Inner Script Becomes Your Outer Results Sales Application (Practical Use) Pre-call priming: Speak your outcome out loud before every call (“I bring clarity and certainty to this conversation.”) Language audit: Eliminate soft phrases (“I think,” “hopefully,” “maybe”) from your sales vocabulary. Repetition builds belief: Read your sales goals twice daily as if already achieved. Emotion matters: Read goals with feeling—belief is emotional, not intellectual. Interrupt negative mindsets: Replace “They won't buy” with “I help people make confident decisions.” Consistency over intensity: Daily repetition beats occasional motivation. Key Insight: Belief is built deliberately, not accidentally. ✔ Chapter 5: Specialized Knowledge: From Information to Authority 5 Sales Application Tips Organize your expertise into simple frameworks buyers can easily follow. Know their world better than they do—pain points, language, pressures, timing. Stop overloading: Say less, but say it with authority. Borrow brilliance: Use mentors, subject experts, and masterminds to extend your knowledge. Teach while you sell: Authority grows when you help buyers understand, not when you impress them. Key Insight: You are not selling information. You are selling guidance. ✔ Chapter 6: Imagination: Where Sales Innovation Is Born 7 Sales Application Tips Paint the “after” picture: Describe life, work, or outcomes post-solution. Use sensory language: Help them see, feel, and experience the result. Rehearse success aloud: Walk the buyer through implementation as if it's already happening. Normalize the decision: Familiarity reduces fear and resistance. Tell transformation stories: Stories activate imagination faster than facts. Slow the moment down: Imagination needs space—don't rush the close. Anchor certainty visually: “Imagine six months from now…” becomes a mental commitment. Key Insight: People don't buy solutions. They buy who they become after the solution. ✔ Chapter 7: Organized Planning: Putting Desire Into Action 6 Sales Application Tips Create a repeatable sales process you trust and follow consistently. Plan the work—then work the plan, even when results lag. Refine the plan, not the goal when setbacks occur. Prepare for objections before they arise—confidence comes from readiness. Track behaviors, not just outcomes (calls, follow-ups, conversations). Use structure to eliminate emotion-based decisions during the sales cycle. Key Insight: A plan creates certainty. Certainty creates momentum. Welcome back to our final series of SEASON 14 of The Neuroscience Meets Social and Emotional Learning Podcast, where we connect the science-based evidence behind social and emotional learning and emotional intelligence training for improved well-being, achievement, productivity and results—using what I saw as the missing link (since we weren't taught this when we were growing up in school), the application of practical neuroscience. I'm Andrea Samadi, and seven years ago, launched this podcast with a question I had never truly asked myself before: (and that is) If productivity and results matter to us—and they do now more than ever—how exactly are we using our brain to make them happen? Most of us were never taught how to apply neuroscience to improve productivity, results, or well-being. About a decade ago, I became fascinated by the mind-brain-results connection—and how science can be applied to our everyday lives. That's why I've made it my mission to bring you the world's top experts—so together, we can explore the intersection of science and social-emotional learning. We'll break down complex ideas and turn them into practical strategies we can use every day for predictable, science-backed results. Connecting Back to Our 6-Part Think and Grow Rich Series (2022) For today's EP 382, we continue with PART 2 of our Review of Think and Grow Rich for Sales, connecting back to our 6-PART Series from 2022[i]. Back in 2022, we didn't just read Think and Grow Rich—we lived inside it as we launched our year. Over a 6-part series that began the beginning of January 2022, we walked through this book chapter by chapter, not as theory, but as a personal operating system for growth, performance, and results. At the time, the focus of our 6 PART Series was broad. We covered: Personal development Mindset mastery Vision, purpose, and belief We covered the BASICS of this book that my mentor, Bob Proctor studied for his entire lifetime (over 50 years) that can be applied to whatever it is that you want to create with our life. Today, we are going to look at this timeless piece of knowledge, through a new lens. What we're covering today—PART 2 of our Study of Think and Grow Rich for Sales—is not new material. It's the application of this series, towards a specific discipline. You could apply this book to any discipline, but this one, I have wanted to cover for a very long time. How the 6-Part Series Maps DIRECTLY to Sales Mastery Here's the reframe that matters: Every principle we covered in 2022 becomes a sales advantage when applied correctly. Each of the 10 chapters explains how to further improve our inner state, and then we walk through how to make this change occur in our outer world, connecting each principal for the salesperson. And just a reminder that you don't need to be in sales for these principles to work for us. Think and Grow Rich for Sales How Inner Mastery Becomes Sales Results Inspired by Think and Grow Rich Through a modern neuroscience + sales lens Chapter IV: Autosuggestion The Inner Script Behind Every Sales Call Core Idea: Your subconscious mind is always selling—either for you or against you. Sales Application: Language patterns that leak doubt Why we program confidence before the call Why tone matters more than technique Listener Takeaway: The buyer responds to your energy, not your words. Chapter IV — Autosuggestion How Your Inner Script Becomes Your Outer Results Autosuggestion is the bridge between what you think and what you experience. I first learned this concept while working with Bob Proctor in the seminar industry, and it fundamentally changed the way I understand my own personal results—both in life and in sales. At its core, autosuggestion is about creating order in the mind, (first) so your inner script consistently produces your outer results. The visual model that explains this in one simple view is the stickperson diagram, originally developed by Dr. Thurman Fleet in 1934. You'll see this image in the show notes, labeled A, B, and C. Here is what this diagram means. The Three Parts of the Mind IMAGE IDEA: From Dr. Thurman Fleet 1937 with his idea of Concept Therapy. A — Conscious Mind (Thinking Mind) This is the part of your mind you use when you are actively thinking: reading studying learning solving problems consciously making decisions This is where logic lives. B — Non-Conscious Mind (Emotional Mind) This is the most powerful part of the mind—and the most misunderstood. The non-conscious mind: accepts whatever enters it does not judge truth from falsehood operates primarily through repetition and emotion This is why: who you surround yourself with matters what you listen to matters what you repeatedly tell yourself matters Your non-conscious mind becomes the program that runs your behavior. C — Body The body is the instrument of the mind. Your body inherits what your mind expresses: thoughts affect emotions emotions affect physiology physiology affects behavior and results This is why mindset impacts: health energy confidence performance And why our thoughts, feelings and actions ultimately determine our results. They create our conditions, our circumstances and our environment. Why Autosuggestion Matters (Real Life Example) Because I learned this before I had children, I became extremely intentional about what was playing in the background of our home. News, negativity, and fear-based messaging go straight into the non-conscious mind—especially when the mind is in a submissive state, such as: early childhood (when your mind is wide open) right before sleep also while eating when relaxed or emotionally open This state of mind doesn't just affect children. It affects adults too. What we repeatedly hear becomes how we feel—and eventually how we act. This is why autosuggestion is not wishful thinking. It is mental conditioning. Autosuggestion and Alignment (Praxis) When your thoughts, feelings and emotions are aligned, you enter a state called praxis—the point where belief and behavior match. How do we enter this state? By: writing your goals reading them aloud repeating them twice daily you gradually impress belief onto the non-conscious mind. Over time: belief strengthens faith develops behavior shifts automatically Eventually, you don't have to force confidence. It becomes natural. Beyond the Five Senses: The Higher Faculties Before moving into Chapter V — Specialized Knowledge, it's important to introduce one of the most overlooked ideas Napoleon Hill emphasized: It's the 6 higher faculties of the mind. If you revisit Episode #67[ii], I explain how living only through our five senses can limit results. Our five senses are connected to the conscious mind. But beyond them lie six higher faculties, including: imagination intuition perception will reason memory Hill believed intuition and imagination were so powerful that he devoted entire chapters to them. These faculties allow us to: access deeper insight perceive what others miss gain a competitive advantage Intuition: A Sales Superpower If I had to choose three higher faculties most useful in sales for us to develop, they would be: intuition perception will Let's focus on intuition. Intuition is the mental tool that allows you to feel truth: a gut sense an inner knowing a subtle emotional signal It develops with practice—and trust. Putting Intuition Into Action (Sales) When you're presenting to someone, intuition answers questions like: Are they engaged, but holding a question? Do they need more information—or less? Is it time to continue… or time to ask for the decision? Highly intuitive sales professionals can sense: certainty hesitation trust resistance —even without being in the same room with this person. Sales at Its Highest Level This brings us back to Paul Martinelli's reminder: “Sales at its highest level is the transference of emotion. And the primary emotion is certainty.” When intuition is developed, you know: when certainty has been transferred when the buyer is ready when the close is natural Eventually, as your higher faculties become conditioned through autosuggestion, you access them automatically—without effort or overthinking. Closing Thought — Chapter IV: Autosuggestion Autosuggestion is not about forcing belief. It's about training alignment. When your thoughts, emotions, and actions match: confidence becomes automatic intuition sharpens results follow naturally Your inner script always becomes your outer results. And that's why autosuggestion is not optional. It's foundational. Chapter V: Specialized Knowledge Why Authority Always Outsells Enthusiasm Core Idea: Knowledge only becomes power when it's organized and applied. Sales Application: Moving from “presenter” to trusted expert Leading the conversation instead of reacting Why winging it destroys certainty Listener Takeaway: Mastery creates calm authority. Chapter V — Specialized Knowledge Why Expertise—Not Information—Creates Sales Success To further refine what we want to achieve, Chapter 5 of Think and Grow Rich introduces a critical distinction: not all knowledge is created equally. Napoleon Hill explains that it is specialized knowledge—not general knowledge—that separates you from everyone else and makes you valuable. Knowledge alone, Hill reminds us, is only potential power. “Knowledge (general or specialized) must be organized and intelligently directed, and is only potential power. It becomes power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action and directed to a definite end.” (Chapter V, p. 79, TAGR) In other words: Information does nothing on its own. Application is everything. Why This Matters (Education vs. Application) This becomes clear when we think about formal education. Much of what we learn in school is general knowledge—useful only if we apply it in a specific way. Hill calls this the missing link in education: “The failure of educational institutions is that it fails to teach students HOW TO ORGANIZE AND USE KNOWLEDGE after they acquire it.” (Chapter V, p. 80, TAGR) This insight alone explains why so many intelligent people struggle to produce results—especially in sales. They know a lot, but they haven't organized that knowledge into a repeatable system of action. Henry Ford and the Myth of ‘Not Being Educated' Henry Ford is Hill's perfect example. Ford famously said he had a row of buttons on his desk—buttons he could press to access any knowledge he needed. He didn't need to personally possess all information. He needed to know: where to get it who to ask how to apply it Hill wrote: “Any person is educated who knows where to get knowledge when needed, and how to organize that knowledge into definite plans of action.” (Chapter V, p. 81, TAGR) Through his Master Mind, Ford had access to all the specialized knowledge required to become one of the wealthiest men in America. This is a critical lesson for sales professionals: You do not need to know everything. You need to know what matters most, and how to apply it. Why Some Ideas Succeed and Others Don't This principle explains why some books—and businesses—succeed at extraordinary levels while others, though insightful, fall short. Take Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Its impact wasn't just the ideas—it was the framework. Covey gave readers clear steps for how to apply each habit in real life. Contrast that with Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now. An incredible book, (I love this book- I own it-and it's on my bookshelf). It's rich in insight—but for many readers, it's difficult to apply without additional guidance or structure. The difference is not wisdom. It's organized, specialized knowledge. “Knowledge is not power until it is organized into definite plans of action.” (Chapter V, p. 80, TAGR) What ‘Educated' Really Means Hill reminds us that education does not mean memorization or credentials. The word educate comes from the Latin educo, meaning: to draw out to develop from within An educated person is not someone with the most information—but someone who has developed the faculties of their mind to acquire, apply, and direct knowledge effectively. This is where Specialized Knowledge intersects with: imagination intuition perception will —faculties we explored earlier in the series. Chapter V Specialized Knowledge Applied to Sales In sales, Specialized Knowledge looks like this: Knowing your customer's world, not just your product Understanding patterns in their world that match with yours, not scripts that lack meaning Being able to simplify complexity for the buyer Organizing your knowledge into a repeatable sales process This is what creates authority. When something comes naturally to you—but amazes others—you are operating in specialized knowledge. That's where confidence comes from. That's where trust is built. That's where sales success compounds. How to Use Specialized Knowledge to Reach New Heights (Sales Tips) 1. Identify What You Do Naturally Well Ask yourself: What do people come to me for? What feels obvious to me but confusing to others? That's your starting point for specialization. 2. Organize Your Knowledge into a Framework Turn what you know into: a process a checklist a conversation flow Frameworks build confidence—for you and the buyer where you can point to them clearly where they are in the process, showing them how to move to where they want to go. 3. Learn Continuously—but Selectively Don't collect information. Acquire purposeful knowledge aligned to your goal. Ask: Does this help me serve better? Does this help my buyer decide? 4. Use a Master Mind No top performer succeeds alone. Surround yourself with: mentors peers coaches Borrow knowledge, insight, and certainty with every action that you take. 5. Apply, Review, Refine Specialized knowledge compounds only when used. Apply what you learn. Review results. Refine your approach. This is how expertise is built. Final Insight — Chapter V: Specialized Knowledge Sales success does not come from knowing more. It comes from knowing what matters, organizing it into action, and applying it consistently. When Specialized Knowledge is combined with Imagination, it creates something powerful: A unique and successful business. And this brings us naturally to the next chapters—where imagination, planning, and decision transform knowledge into results. Chapter VI: Imagination Selling the Future Before the Close Core Idea: People buy future identity, not features. Sales Application: Painting the “after” state Emotional buy-in before logical justification Don't quit when you are at “3 Feet from Gold” (Chapter 1, TAGR, Page 5). Listener Takeaway People don't buy solutions. They buy who they become after the solution. And it is the salesperson's role to activate the buyer's imagination—to help them see themselves on the other side of the decision. This brings us back to Paul Martinelli's reminder: “Sales at its highest level is the transference of emotion. And the primary emotion is certainty.” Imagination is what creates that certainty. Before a buyer can feel certain, they must first imagine the outcome: life after their problem is solved success after the decision is made themselves operating at a higher level When imagination is engaged, certainty follows. And when certainty is present, the decision becomes natural. Can you see how all of these success principles tie into each other? Like the colors of the rainbow. Chapter VI: Imagination Review of Chapter VI — Our Imagination “Imagination is everything,” according to American author and radio speaker Earl Nightingale, who devoted much of his work to human character development, motivation, and the pursuit of a meaningful life. Every great invention is created in two places: first in the mind of the inventor, and then in the physical world when the idea is brought into form. Our lives reflect how effectively we use our imagination. When we reach a plateau of success, it is not effort alone that takes us to the next level—it is imagination. Imagination allows us to see beyond our current circumstances and envision what is possible next. This is why creating a crystal-clear vision is so important. When we write and read our vision twice a day, we intentionally activate our imagination. Writing and reading that vision in detail stimulates recognition centers in the brain. What may initially feel unrealistic or even like a “pipe dream” begins to feel familiar. Over time, the brain accepts it as something possible—something achievable. Eventually, what once felt distant becomes something you can see yourself doing. And then, one day, what you imagined becomes your reality. When you look at the world through this lens, it's remarkable to consider how much has changed in just the last 50 years—and how quickly that pace is accelerating. These new innovations began in someone's mind first. The most recent leap forward is with artificial intelligence, but it follows the same pattern as every major breakthrough before it. Someone first imagined a world where: Amazon would dominate retail while owning almost no physical stores Uber would transform transportation while owning almost no cars Facebook would scale globally while creating no content Airbnb would become a hospitality giant while owning no real estate Netflix would redefine entertainment without being a TV channel Bitcoin would create value without physical coins Each of these began as an idea before evidence—a vision before execution. The same principle applies to our goals, our careers, and our success. Everything we create begins with imagination. When imagination is paired with belief, intention, and action, it becomes a powerful force that shapes not only individual outcomes, but the direction of the world itself. Closing Thought — Chapter VI Imagination is not fantasy. It is the starting point of all progress. What you are able to imagine clearly today is what you are capable of creating tomorrow. How to Use Imagination for Sales Success Turning Possibility into Certainty 1. Understand the Role of Imagination in Sales Imagination is not fantasy. In sales, imagination is pre-decision certainty. Before a buyer can decide, they must first: see a different future feel themselves in it believe it is attainable Your job as the salesperson is to guide that mental rehearsal. People don't buy products. They buy the future version of themselves (with the certainty that you paint for them). 2. Imagine the Outcome Before the Buyer Does Top sales professionals do not start with features. They start with vision. Before the call, ask yourself: Who does my buyer become after the purchase? What changes in their day-to-day life? What problem is no longer taking up mental space? How you can support and guide them in this process. If you cannot imagine the outcome clearly, your buyer won't either.
The Strangest Secret That Explains Why Most Men Never Succeed is the message that made Earl Nightingale famous. In this livestream, I read it in full and break down why it still applies to men today. This episode explores why so many men work hard, stay busy, and still end up frustrated with their results. Nightingale's core idea centers on thought, intention, and purpose, and how those quietly shape income, direction, and fulfillment over decades. This reading is especially relevant for men who feel stuck, uncertain about their future, or disappointed by how life has unfolded despite years of effort. The principles discussed are simple but uncomfortable, which is often why they are ignored. If you have ever wondered why discipline alone is not enough, why motivation fades, or why most people never reach independence, this message explains it in a way few modern voices do. Listen closely and decide what you want your thinking to build next.

So welcome to It's Not Rocket Science. Five questions over coffee. I'm here with Kyle Bentley Beltly. Sorry, I'm gonna, I'm gonna get that wrong. Kyle. Apologies. Kyle Beltley.Stuart Webb [00:00:22]:Kyle is the owner of ProActive CPA. Kyle is going to talk to us about some really interesting things about how we manage our finances, manage tax, etc. Carl, welcome to It's Not Rocket Science. Five questions over coffee. I hope you've got your coffee in front of you today.Kyle Beltle [00:00:38]:Ready to go.Stuart Webb [00:00:39]:Terrific mug, terrific mug. Let's, let's talk briefly about how you're, who is, who is the person you're trying to help? What's the problem they've got? So that we can sort of, as we were listening to you describe this, we begin to get a sense of is this me that Kyle is talking about?Kyle Beltle [00:01:00]:Sure, sure. So my clients are professional coaches and consultants running businesses that are generating high six figures of sales and they're people who are looking to buy back their time. I would say that the primary issue that people come to me with and I help them solve, it's kind of a twofold. It's first off, it's what I like to call tax fomo, fear of missing out, and it's analysis paralysis. So with the tax fomo, we are inundated with social media posts on tax tips, our neighbors giving us tax tips, our crazy uncle at the family dinner is giving us. And there's this fear that I'm missing out on these deductions that everybody else knows about. But where do I even, where do I even get started? You know, this, this analysis paralysis. And a great example of this is I just started working with a client there and as we were getting ready for our kickoff meeting, he said, I hope you don't mind, I just jotted down a few thoughts.Kyle Beltle [00:02:10]:Well, so Stewart, this guy had composed this entire Google Doc of just all the things that he'd been coming across. And you know, does this apply to me? Where do I start? And so what I do with my clients is distill all that into a crystal clear tax strategy plan for them where they know, a, this applies to me, B, this is how to take advantage of it, and C, here's the savings I'm going to get from it.Stuart Webb [00:02:38]:So let's just, let's try and explore a little bit then on what are the things. I mean, that guy obviously had ideas about what he wanted to do, the problems that he knew had. He Tried anything. What were the things he tried to do to overcome this problem before turning to Kyle and say, carl, can you help me?Kyle Beltle [00:02:57]:So fortunately he hadn't tried anything and sadly that's not always the case. I had a client, I'll call Ian, who just started working with me the beginning of this year and he had heard, real estate's a great investment. I'm going to get into real estate. And he ended up purchasing a rental house that was out of state. So now he's preparing a multi state return and he has to set up a rental property. He was using an over the counter online tax product there. And you know the saying, garbage in, garbage out. Well, the data that he was putting into the software was not correct.Kyle Beltle [00:03:47]:He ended up missing out on a lot of deductions around that rental property. And so when we first started working together this year, I went back, took a look under the hood of the return last year and was able to help him get that rental property set up properly. And the savings, the actual tax savings that he experienced as a result of that were twice what I was charging him there. And so, you know, I have a colleague, Rajo Jose, who likes to say premium guidance cost a lot less than premium mistakes. And so certainly don't, don't try to DIY things when you're working with a complex tax situation.Stuart Webb [00:04:39]:I'm going to have to agree with you, Carla. I know one of the early lessons I was taught when I was a very young business owner was people forget the price long after they've forgotten the lack of quality, so long after they've remembered the lack of quality. So you know, the, the problem that we all try and think of is this may or may not take me a lot of time, but you're not dealing with, you're not dealing with something which, which is, you know, so much time based, are you? Although they are paying for your time, they're paying for the years of experience which you bought into the, you've used as your education and your experience in order to come back and go, this is how much it's valid, the value is to you. This is not about me taking 15 minutes over this. This is 15 years of my life that's taught me how to do this for you.Kyle Beltle [00:05:25]:100%. 100%. And that's not even mentioning the time that they would need to take away from their core business.Stuart Webb [00:05:33]:Absolutely.Kyle Beltle [00:05:34]:To try to learn this or to even, even to execute it.Stuart Webb [00:05:38]:Absolutely. So I think, Carl, you've been very kind to the audience. You have Got a giveaway. And this will be something which is in the vault that we have, which is the systemized me free stuff. So describe what this is, a PDF, I think, which is going to be a great asset to a lot of people. Tell us what's in this PDF and how it benefit them.Kyle Beltle [00:06:04]:So, as I said at the top, one of the issues that so many of my prospects and so many of my clients come to me with is just saying, where do I even begin? So I put together a handout here of my six favorite tax strategies that most people can take advantage of. And so I would download that there and take it with you next time you're meeting with your tax professional to see which one of these can we put into play to maximize my savings.Stuart Webb [00:06:34]:And I would, I'd hate to, to prejudice this, but if somebody comes along and finds they're only using five of the six, they may need to have a word with you anyway.Kyle Beltle [00:06:43]:Yes, absolutely, absolutely.Stuart Webb [00:06:46]:Okay, terrific. That's a brilliant. And I, I'll just repeat, if you go to systemize me free hyphen stuff, you will find that immediately. You can go and download that now and go get that from, from that vault and, and you will be able to get hold of Kyle's top six strategies. Have a feeling he may have more than six in his bank. But that's, that's the top.Kyle Beltle [00:07:09]:There may be a bonus. There may be a bonus one.Stuart Webb [00:07:12]:I love it. I love it. I love it. Kyle, tell us a little bit. You know, how did you become the, the expert that you are on tax? This doesn't happen overnight. It certainly doesn't happen unless you, you set out intentionally to understand these things.Kyle Beltle [00:07:28]:Yeah.Stuart Webb [00:07:28]:Is there a book, a course or something like that that took you to this, this place? That's.Kyle Beltle [00:07:34]:That is a great question, Stuart. And I love when you ask your guests this because you're always, always finding great books, great programs through this, and I've read a lot of books over the years and just trying to think distill it down to one. Ah, it's really tough. But if I had to choose, I would say that the most impactful program in my life has been Earl Nightingale's the Strangest Secret. Are you familiar with it by any chance?Stuart Webb [00:08:05]:It's not one I know. It's not one I know.Kyle Beltle [00:08:08]:So I encourage everyone out there, go look it up on YouTube. The strangest secret. It's originally, I believe it was a radio broadcast that Earl gave. It's only about 30 minutes. It's very concise. Very to the point. And spoiler alert. The strangest secret is that we become what we think about most of the time.Kyle Beltle [00:08:34]:Oh, and, you know, certainly that is by, you know, no means new to any of your listeners, I'm sure. But for me, I came across this early in my career. It was one of the first times I was really ever exposed to the power of being intentional with your thoughts and setting goals there. And so even to this day, I still find it as a great reset any. Anytime I'm stuck to listen to Earl Nightingale's the Strangest Secret.Stuart Webb [00:09:06]:That is a great, great tip, Carl. I thank you for that one because you're absolutely right. Too often we are, we're not intentional with our businesses, are we? We are distracted. I often see business owners, and I deal with business owners most of my day, and I find myself saying, well, why are you doing it that way? And the answer is sometimes it's sort of like, well, I just can't stop thinking about this. And unfortunately you go, well, you're missing out on a bunch of other things which actually you should be focused on and this should not be even in your thing. So you, you tend to end up doing it because you've just got locked in a cycle of focus that is the wrong one. And to switch the focus to what you should be focused on is much more important.Kyle Beltle [00:09:53]:Yeah. If you're just reacting to the latest email, the latest text message that comes across your inbox there. Yeah, you're absolutely right. You're going to get stuck in a cycle that is not productive and not product. You know, really building up your business to the best that it can be.Stuart Webb [00:10:12]:And this is where you have to start thinking a little bit about, like the, the future of your business by focus on those tax strategies which actually enable you to free up the cash, free up the investment that you might need in order to move the business forward.Kyle Beltle [00:10:26]:Yeah, yeah, absolutely. May feel like you're taking some time, some invaluable time out of your schedule to invest one, two, maybe even three hours to sit down with your tax pro and really map out the upcoming year, what you can take advantage of, what you can't. But the clarity that I have seen that give to my clients is worth its weight in gold and more than comes back to them in time savings.Stuart Webb [00:10:57]:Yeah, I'm gonna, I'll tell a small story here. It's one that's rather specific to the. But I came across a business just recently. The business had hit a real problem. They had a real cash flow problem. And I sort of said, what's the real reason for the cash flow problem? Wasn't very obvious from the discussion. They went, we forgot a VAT bill, value added tax bill. We forgot this tax bill was coming in.Stuart Webb [00:11:20]:We completely missed swiped our cash flow. We're now in deep trouble because we had no idea that it was coming in. And I looked at them and I basically said these bills are paid once every quarter. It's like Christmas. It's going to be on the same day, same time every year. What happened? We didn't have a plan. A one or two hour meeting with an attacked professional to just work out where that was would have solved a whole heap of problems for that business.Kyle Beltle [00:11:52]:Yeah, absolutely, absolutely not. Not to mention just the fact that they could have set up a very simple system to, to remind them about that or to automate it there.Stuart Webb [00:12:04]:Yeah, absolutely brilliant, Kyle, I guess we're getting towards the end of this and I'm going to let you go so you can get back to helping other tax professional people get their taxes in order. Professionals get their taxes in order. Carl, there must be a question that you're thinking, well, he still hasn't asked me the real killer one and obviously I might, I might think of it and probably I'm not going to because I'm a person of very little brain. So what's the one question that I should by now have asked you? And as you know what that question is, you better answer it for us as well.Kyle Beltle [00:12:38]:Yeah, absolutely. Well, one of the questions that I was waiting for was what is one tax strategy in particular that could be a quick win for someone today?Stuart Webb [00:12:50]:I am so glad I didn't ask that question because that is such a good question.Kyle Beltle [00:12:55]:And I got to tell you, Stuart, I'll preface this, I know this, this answer, it's not exciting, it's not revolutionary here, but it is, it truly is powerful. And that is for the listeners here in the US to max out your 401k retirement plan there. Now most people, Stewart, very familiar with having some money taken out of their, their paychecks there to put in the 401k and that's great and that everyone should be doing that. However, I'm always surprised that more business owners don't know about the profit sharing options that most for 1k plans have. And the reason that the profit sharing is so powerful, Stuart, is that it is money that the business elects to put into their employees 401k plans. And it's powerful because if the owner owns a company that's taxed as an S corp here in the US that owner will be on payroll and they'll be able to put additional money into their personal 401 while the business gets a tax deduction for it. It's also a great way for employers to reward their employees by giving them a little bit of a bonus that they don't have to pay payroll taxes on. The employees don't have to pay income taxes on there.Kyle Beltle [00:14:26]:So using the profit sharing component of your 401k to really max it out is a very powerful tax strategy that a lot of businesses will will be able to implement this year and get a quick win.Stuart Webb [00:14:40]:Carl, it will not surprise you to learn that is not a strategy that is just related to the US that is also many other countries. Optimizing and maximizing the amount of money you put into a pension is often the best way of saving tax for the business, but also, as you just said, allowing the employee, even if the employee is the chief executive, to get ready for a time when they need to step away from the business anyway and have still got the money coming in that they should have.Kyle Beltle [00:15:11]:Yeah, absolutely, Stuart. You know, as I said, it's not a particularly exciting strategy, but it's, it's been my experience as a professional that oftentimes it's the simple disciplines.Stuart Webb [00:15:23]:Yeah.Kyle Beltle [00:15:23]:Simple steps that we repeat day after day within our businesses that in the long run provide the biggest wins for us.Stuart Webb [00:15:32]:Kyle, that is a great message to end on because I think it is a universal truth. Business is actually really simple. If you boil it down, it's about making a customer and keeping that customer happy. And hey, what could you do better than doing that with your employees by giving them tax breaks and money for when they retire as well. Absolutely brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Kyle, thank you so much for spending a few minutes.Kyle Beltle [00:15:56]:Thank you, Stuart. It's been a blast.Stuart Webb [00:15:58]:I'm. I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna encourage people. Ready to stop living by default? Take the free Rich Mind Assessment at richmind.co to discover your current thinking persona and get a personalized 3-step action plan. You've read the books. You've listened to the gurus. You've tried to work harder on yourself. So, why are you still struggling? Why do you feel like you're stuck on a hamster wheel of self-sabotage? In this pivotal episode, Randy Wilson argues it's not a lack of intelligence or discipline. It's because you were never taught how to think. Randy introduces the core philosophy that will drive the Rich Mind Podcast moving forward: The Gap Thinking Framework. Sharing his own painful journey from losing his career in the 2008 crash to discovering the patterns that kept him stuck, Randy reveals the missing link to success: "The GAP." The GAP is the critical 5-second window between a trigger and your automatic reaction. Most people live with a narrow gap, operating on reactive autopilot. To design the life you desire, you must learn to widen The GAP, move from reactive to responsive, and consciously choose your actions based on the universal law of cause and effect. This episode sets the stage for a powerful new series that will introduce tools like the BS Buster (Beliefs and Stories) and the P.A.C.E. Protocol to help you master this critical space. Mentioned in this episode: Personal development trap, self-sabotage, The GAP, Gap Thinking Framework, reactive vs. responsive mindset, law of cause and effect, decision-making, triggers, thinking patterns. Key Takeaways: You can consume all the personal development content in the world and still be stuck if you don't learn how to think. The key to change is not intelligence or discipline; it's controlling a critical 5-second window Randy calls "The GAP." The GAP is the space between a trigger (stimulus) and your reaction. Most people live with a narrow, reactive gap. To design your life, you must learn to widen The GAP and move from being reactive to being responsive. Your results are governed by the law of cause and effect. By consciously choosing your response in The GAP, you become the cause of your new reality. The greatest gift you have is your ability to choose. Being indecisive is still a choice. This episode introduces the upcoming Gap Thinking Framework, which includes tools like the BS Buster and the PACE Protocol. Questions Answered in This Episode: Why am I still struggling despite reading all the personal development books? What is "The GAP" and why is it the key to changing my life? What is the difference between reacting and responding to a trigger? How can I stop self-sabotaging my own success? What is the law of cause and effect and how does it apply to my thoughts? How do I start to become aware of my own thinking patterns? What is the Gap Thinking Framework and what will it cover? Key People, Concepts, & Terms: People: Randy Wilson, Jim Rohn, Earl Nightingale, Tony Robbins, David Neagle. Concepts: The GAP, Gap Thinking Framework, Reactive vs. Responsive, Law of Cause and Effect, Self-Sabotage, Triggers, Patterns, BS Buster (Beliefs & Stories), PACE Protocol, Rich Mind Assessment. Send us a textIn this episode, I dive deep into one of the most powerful journeys a person can take — the journey of discovering who they really are. Jonathan is a founder, investor, quant, and co-founder of Superior, with an impressive track record of building 16 companies from scratch and authoring the bestselling book Unlimited Influence on ethical persuasion. Here's a sneak peek into our conversation that you won't want to miss:
Beloved, Most people spend their entire lives trying to accomplish something impossible: locking down security in a physical world. Meanwhile, the real power—the power you cannot see and the words that you speak—is running your life. It's time to attunee that - for liberation. The physical plane of your life will never reflect abundance until you become aware and in love with your spiritual identity.Heaven on earth is a matter of a axis point - of revelation. To give it a visual…..I explain the power of language and our use of our words - is much like a PRISM OF LIGHT:* its vertical axis reveals divine light (origins vibrational truth), * while its horizontal axis reflects human agendas (distorted narratives through looking back at history in linear time). It's only when you sit in stillness with yourself that you begin to transmute the lower frequencies of lack and stagnation into clarity and conviction that crossed the threshold of the unknown.BE STILLThat stillness clears space in your field, allowing you to go deeper and reconnect with the divine energy you've always had access to.This process of dismantling the tower allows you to do one essential thing:Redefine your relationship to the inner soul.If reality is a mirror, then the way you define it… is through the words you use.Language dictates your reality. This is where it starts to get mind-bending.The specific set of definitions and verbiage you use to describe:-who you are, -what you've experienced, and -what you're experiencing right now… are dictating the results you're living. It's similar to what Earl Nightingale said:“A man is what he thinks about all day long.”But to take it deeper, you don't actually know what reality is. No one does.Humans are meaning-making machines. We assign meaning to every experience as we try to understand what's going on so that we can survive. And here's where it gets hypnotic (from a real hypnotherapist). The language you use isn't even yours, it was programmed into you. FOR EXAMPLE. Take a phone and it's mechanics. The word “phone” is just a made-up term we all use to describe a device that makes calls, scrolls social media, sends texts, and so on.Instead of describing all that every time, we shortcut it by labeling it “phone.”It's a collective agreement. We all know what you mean, but make no mistake, it's just a label.Someone, somewhere, decided that was the word, and we all went along with it.Now take this deeper: words actually limit your understanding of reality.Humans are telepathic, energetic beings, just like the universe is energetic in nature. But because we adopted words as our main method of communication, our multidimensionality has atrophied over time. You think in words. You read and write in words. You speak in words. And that limitation shrinks the universe you can experience, because the universe itself can't be fully comprehended through words alone. It's far more expansive and infinite than words could ever capture.Go back to the phone example. You now see it's just a label. Now extrapolate that to everything you know.“The sky” isn't sky, it's a word.“Blue” isn't blue, it's a label for a frequency of light. All just labels. Why does this matter for spiritual mastery?Because you only know something in relation to something else. You only know who you are because you're not someone else. You only know the sky is blue because blue isn't red, or green, or black. At the highest levels of spiritual understanding, everything is made up.Every label, every definition, every story is created through collective agreement. So what does that mean, practically? It means reality only contains the meaning you decide to give it.By reclaiming sovereignty over your language, and therefore over your definitions and stories, you start playing your own game of reality instead of the one you inherited. You begin to control the experiences you derive from this game by walking away from the old definitions.Your subconscious mind controls 99% of your perception of reality.Your conscious mind controls just 1%.Right now, you're being bombarded with 11 million bits of information per second. But your conscious mind, what you can presently focus on, can only process about 40–50 bits per second.Masive difference.Think about it, the difference between $50 and $11 million.Fifty bucks barely gets you dinner… but $11 million could retire you for life. The window of perception your conscious mind sees is determined entirely by your subconscious programming.Until you redefine your past experiences, until you change the definitions, stories, and meanings you've attached to them, your conscious mind will keep locking onto those 40–50 bits that confirm your limitations. That's how deep this goes. The real work of spiritual alignment is reprogramming your subconscious mind to feel, believe, and know that reality is supporting you at the highest level, even in moments that once felt painful.Because somewhere inside those 11 million bits per second, there's a positive meaning waiting to be discovered, one that will help you build a tower far greater and more expansive than you can currently imagine. This is where everything shifts. When you start assigning meanings and lessons learned to everything you've experienced. Every trauma, every failure, every heartbreak, you rewrite the code of your life. You literally rewrite history itself. This is how you change the past.Redefine your definitions. It becomes impossible to lose when you're playing your own game.xo KassandraPS: If you're seeking deeper guidance in moments of uncertainty….upgrade to the monthly subscription to receive a weekly word we use in everyday language - that can either give or steal our power for just $7/mo. In the Thomas Evangelical the Lord said: the sheep that leaves the flock is for me more precious than the entire flock. This means we should follow our own light/ wisdom or intuition we receive from the Lord, regardless of what other people think about that. And that is surrender… Just to follow the media is more or less stupidness… The Journalists have a small income (so they are so corrupt) and the editor will censor the manuscript and the same will do the news channels. What remains on trueness? So farer you are away and so less you can check the news so more is the probability that the news is wrong! And just to follow the mass doesn't require wisdom or braveness…Beside that, Earl Nightingale said the mass is always wrong… If you have the choice to follow a big group or small group you rather make no mistake in your entire life to follow the small group…For instance, why are owning less than 10% of the population nearly 90% of the wealth? Because the mass is always right? Every inventor had the bones to go through the night to discover and explore the uncovered things… Because of his faith and regardless of any distraction, he invented something new….Faith without braveness is no faith at all… We have to trust our own light, wisdom and intuition regardless of how scary it is… The biggest problem is that we don't know what is our intuition or light…And for this we have to look inside of us and to learn to discriminate between our madness, ego, distraction and our true self… We should watch our madness, fears, ego, anger, sadness… and not condemn that.We never should suppress our negativity. Because often we have to change our path.We get doubts and then evidence when we are on the wrong or right path…For instance, when I trek through unknown terrariums, I am a master in losing the path… Guess, if I would not have my doubts, I would never reach my target… Fanatics are people that follow stupid ideas and never look if the ideas are always true!We have all the time to adjust our ideas until they become true!Otherwise we would become a fanatic…There is no straight path in nature. We have to check and rectify our thoughts and ideas… to find the best path.I am always ready to hear the opposite opinion of myself. And that is not a distraction for me, it is rather a more fine tuning…We can hear the Lord in every being, just open up … My Video: Faith, cowardice and stupidness https://youtu.be/pYuQmoY3ZHEMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast1/Faith-cowardice-and-stupidness.mp3
Episode Summary: This episode of the Rich Mind Podcast tackles one of the biggest hidden sources of unhappiness: our expectations. Randy and Greg explore the "happiness gap"—the space between our current reality and the future we expect—and how this gap dictates our level of satisfaction in life. They discuss the two primary forms of toxic expectations: those we place on others (often leading to disappointment) and the unrealistic, self-imposed expectations we place on ourselves (often leading to burnout and self-sabotage). Drawing on wisdom from Jim Rohn and Earl Nightingale, this conversation is a guide to letting go of rigid outcomes, practicing gratitude for the present, and cultivating a healthy sense of expectancy for a great future without being attached to the details. Key Takeaways: Your level of happiness is determined by the size of the gap between your expectations and your current reality. Placing rigid expectations on other people is a setup for disappointment, as you cannot control their actions. We often carry childhood disappointments (like Randy's Trans Am story) into our adult lives, creating a paradigm of expecting the worst. There is a crucial difference between having high standards and having unrealistic, self-sabotaging expectations of yourself. You can't force inspiration or progress; sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is give yourself grace and relax. A powerful framework for a happy life, from Earl Nightingale, is to combine daily gratitude for what you have with a positive expectancy for what's to come. A great journal prompt to uncover hidden frustrations is: "What expectation is driving my frustration right now?" Questions Answered in This Episode: How do our expectations directly affect our happiness? Why is placing expectations on other people a recipe for disappointment? How can you stop setting unrealistic expectations for yourself? What is the difference between healthy expectancy and toxic expectations? How can you give yourself grace without losing your drive to achieve? What did Earl Nightingale mean by "gratitude and expectancy"? How can journaling help you identify and manage your expectations? Inspired to change his mindset, he launched a small cleaning business that rapidly grew into a six-figure success and soon joined Earl Nightingale's Nightingale-Conant organization, rising through the ranks and honing the ideas that would define his career. In 1984, Proctor published You Were Born Rich, a book that distilled his philosophy of harnessing mental paradigms to create abundance. He became a leading voice in the personal-development movement, creating seminars, coaching programs, and multimedia trainings that reached audiences around the world. His influence skyrocketed in 2006 when he appeared as one of the featured teachers in The Secret, bringing concepts like the Law of Attraction and the Law of Vibration to millions.Together with partner Sandy Gallagher, Proctor co-founded the Proctor Gallagher Institute, which continues to teach his principles of mindset, visualization, and goal setting. Over decades, he helped countless people reshape their self-image and achieve personal and financial growth, always emphasizing that lasting success comes from changing deep-seated paradigms. Bob Proctor passed away on February 3, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving a legacy as one of the most recognized and enduring figures in the field of human potential. Hosted on Acast. How to Turn Self-Focus Into Unstoppable Confidence This episode of the Rich Mind Podcast challenges a common belief by exploring why being more selfish is a crucial ingredient for success. Inspired by the wisdom of Jim Rohn and Earl Nightingale, Randy and Greg discuss why "working harder on yourself than you do on your job" is the ultimate form of productive selfishness. They break down the difference between healthy self-focus and negative arrogance, emphasizing that building your internal world—your attitude, confidence, and habits—is the foundation for all external achievement. This conversation is a guide to taking radical responsibility for your own personal development, learning to love yourself, and showing up in the world with a confidence that naturally attracts opportunities. Key Takeaways: Being "selfish" in the context of personal development means prioritizing your own internal growth, attitude, and habits. Jim Rohn's philosophy, "To have more, you must become more," requires a self-centered focus on improving yourself first. There is a clear distinction between confidence (which is earned through competence) and arrogance (which is not backed by action). Your attitude is a "magic word" that dictates how the world responds to you and the opportunities you attract. A lack of self-love and self-compassion is often the root cause of a lack of confidence. You are the only person you have 100% control over; trying to change others is a futile effort that drains your energy. Every small, daily interaction is an opportunity to practice a positive attitude and potentially attract your next big opportunity. Questions Answered in This Episode: Why is being more "selfish" actually a key to success? What did Jim Rohn mean by "work harder on yourself than you do on your job"? What is the difference between being confident and being arrogant? How does your attitude directly impact the opportunities you attract? How can you start practicing more self-love and self-compassion today? Why is trying to change other people a waste of your energy? How can a simple conversation with a stranger lead to a life-changing opportunity? What are the basic, foundational habits you can focus on to improve your life? Key People, Concepts, & Terms: People: Randy Wilson, Greg Junge, Jim Rohn, Earl Nightingale, Matthew McConaughey. In a world that floods the mind with distraction and noise, Bhakti Yoga teaches a sacred alternative: reclaim the inner world through smarana—the practice of intentional, emotionally infused remembrance. In this episode, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore how what we think about—over and over again—shapes who we become. Drawing from the Bhagavad Gita, the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and a quote from self-help pioneer Earl Nightingale, they examine how the bhakti tradition trains the mind through focused repetition and deep feeling. With reflections on Mother Yaśodā's love for Krishna, and the esoteric path of Rāgānuga Bhakti, this episode opens the door to a meditation practice unlike any other. Episode Summary: This episode tackles the universal fear of an unknown future, anchored by a powerful quote from Steve Jobs: "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards." Randy and Greg explore why this uncertainty often paralyzes us, preventing us from taking the first step towards our goals. They discuss the importance of setting a crystal-clear vision, as taught by Earl Nightingale, and trusting that the necessary steps—the "dots"—will reveal themselves along the way. Listeners will learn why "failing fast" is a powerful strategy, how to leverage an inner circle for unbiased advice, and why your small, everyday decisions have a massive impact on your future. This conversation is a masterclass in learning to trust the process, even when you can't see the full path ahead. Key Takeaways: You don't need to see the entire path to your goal; you only need to take the next logical step with faith. Setting a crystal-clear goal is the most crucial first step, as it activates your mind to recognize opportunities and ideas that will help you achieve it. Overthinking and procrastination are often symptoms of wanting the security of a guaranteed outcome, which is impossible. "Failing fast" is an effective strategy to quickly learn if you are on the right path, rather than spending years on the wrong one. Your small, seemingly mundane daily decisions are the "dots" that create the full picture of your life in the future. Leveraging a trusted inner circle for advice is critical because they can offer a logical perspective free from the emotional attachment you have to your own situation. You must trust yourself and the process. Your past experiences don't dictate your future, but your decisions today do. Questions Answered in This Episode: What did Steve Jobs mean when he said you can only connect the dots looking backward? How do you move forward on a goal when you don't know all the steps involved? What is the first and most important step to take when pursuing a big goal? Why is it so hard to make decisions when the future is uncertain? How can the "fail fast" mentality help you achieve success more quickly? Why is it important to get an outside perspective from friends or mentors when making big decisions? How do your small, everyday choices impact your long-term future? What is the best way to handle the fear and self-doubt that come with chasing a big dream? Key People, Concepts, & Terms: People: Randy Wilson, Greg Junge, Steve Jobs, Earl Nightingale. Concepts: Connecting the Dots, Trusting the Process, Goal Setting, Clarity, Failing Fast, The Strangest Secret, Overthinking, Limiting Beliefs, Inner Circle/Mastermind, Personal Development. Are You Winning a Game You Secretly Hate? This episode confronts a fear greater than failure: the fear of achieving success in a life you don't actually want. Anchored by a philosopher's poignant quote, Randy and Greg dissect the "wrong ladder" syndrome—the common trap of chasing societal or familial expectations at the expense of personal fulfillment and joy. They share deeply personal stories about climbing the corporate ladder, parental influence, and the courage it takes to pivot. Listeners will learn the importance of self-awareness, defining their own version of success, and practical, actionable steps to transition from a life of regret to one of purpose and time freedom. Key Takeaways: The greatest fear isn't failure, but succeeding at a game you never wanted to play. It takes immense courage to first recognize you're on the wrong ladder, and even more to choose a different one. Parental influence, whether direct or indirect, can unknowingly set you on a path that isn't true to yourself. True success often lies in consistency and enjoying the process, not just in the speed of achievement. Acceptance of your current situation is not giving up; it's establishing the necessary starting point for a meaningful pivot. A practical 3-step plan for leaving a life you don't want involves: 1) Focusing on personal development, 2) Getting your finances in order, and 3) Setting a firm date to make a change. Gratitude for what you've already accomplished can alleviate the anxiety of constantly striving for more Questions Answered in This Episode: What is the one fear that is more important than the fear of failure? How do you recognize if you are "climbing the wrong ladder" in your career or life? What are the consequences of chasing a version of success that isn't your own? How can parental expectations influence your life path without you realizing it? What practical steps can you take today to start leaving a job or life you're unhappy with? Why is "acceptance" a powerful tool for change, not a sign of giving up? What is the true secret to long-term success if it isn't just about speed? How can gratitude help manage the anxiety of needing to achieve more? Key People, Concepts, & Terms: People: Randy Wilson, Greg Junge, Bronnie Ware, Gary Vaynerchuk, Jim Rohn, Earl Nightingale, Steve Jobs. Daily Boost Podcast Show Notes The Strangest Secret: 7 Simple Rules May 30, 2025 | Episode 5105 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description I had a rough week getting lectured by my dentist and dermatologist, but let's end on a high note! Today, I'm sharing Earl Nightingale's timeless wisdom from “The Strangest Secret”–the inspiration that got me into this business. These seven simple principles can transform your life, but only if you apply them. Earl Nightingale did over 5,000 radio programs; his insights are just as relevant today as they were decades ago. Featured Story Scott shares the fascinating origin story of Earl Nightingale's “The Strangest Secret.” Created to motivate insurance salesmen while Nightingale was out of town. This spoken-word recording accidentally became the first gold record of its kind. What started as a simple motivational tool for his sales team launched Nightingale's entire career and inspired countless people, including Scott himself. Important Points You become what you think, so focus your mental energy on what you want, not what you're stuck in. Success requires paying the price through time, discipline, and investment — nothing worthwhile comes without effort. Controlling your thoughts is neuroscience in action; let thoughts come and go without dwelling on them. Memorable Quotes “You become what you think. Whatever's going on inside your mind right now is what you will become.” “To get success that's not earned will never last. You must earn it.” “The secrets of success are indeed strange, and if you take the hype out of it, it comes down to the real basics of life.” Scott's Three-Step Approach Control your thoughts by acknowledging them without dwelling on negative patterns. Set clearly defined goals that are specific enough to know exactly what you're accomplishing. Act promptly when your path becomes clear instead of waiting for the “perfect” time.
