Dedicated to all things Derry City. With weekly round ups and previews and the ups downs and everything in betweens from the clubs history!
This week we want you to play a game of spot the Cliche. We discussed the draw in draw & had a very interesting chat about another quote-unquote conspiracy theory as well as addressing the nonsense in weavers park. Of course we had your predictions & as always a lovely trip down Poetry Corner way
Six goals, new stand, brass neck politicians & unprofessionalism feature heavily in this episode of Skint Hill as well as a lung bursting return to Poetry Corner with Adrian Kerr, aged 42. Apologies for the first 7 minutes of sound quality, its rectified not long in to the episode I promise x
What a wanker. We discussed with disgust the performance of the man in the middle on Friday night past as well as the actual game itself. Predictions, craic, harps hilarity, Felix Healys moustache and its involvement in the Derry City curse & a few trips back in time in between our usual trip to Poetry Corner with the sumptuous Adrian Kerr, aged 42.
Doom. Gloom. All the usual suspects of a skint hill episode after an unfavourable result. Mark seems to think its all over, I'm not giving up the ghost just yet! Plenty of chat in this episode of the last two games we played & a couple of returns, including a very heartfelt emotional trip, to poetry corner! FUCK GRAHAM BURKE.
We're back from another (unexpected) hiatus with a bumper episode! We tactically analyse the Bohs & Dundalk games with plenty of our usual shitetalk and sidetracks! Also included in this episode we chat about Watergate - the more important & well known Watergate surrounding the new stand & of course a return of your predictions which wouldn't be complete without our Resident Poet in poetry corner, Adrian Kerr aged 42.
After a bit of a hiatus over the European games thankfully the conflicting scheduling is now over & normal service has resumed. Unfortunately, the constant disappointment that was the old Derry City reared its ugly head again but surely its only a minor blip.... Poetry corner makes a few appearances with the highly talented and insatiable Adrian Kerr, aged 42.
That was bad for the nerves. There's been a slight format change this week, we didn't put an episode out post KuPS home so we could put out a double episode for the tie overall, we'll be repeating that format for the next tie also. Do you remember the League of Ireland? we don't! Plenty of chat about the UECL games previous and ahead as well as a return to Poetry corner & all the other predictions
This week is another bumper episode apologies for how long it is, we discussed the ECL home game against HB....eventually, as well as a quick look at the Athlone game, the rest of the FAI cup fixtures and draw and a wee look forward to KuPS at home. Predictions make a return, SORRY ADRIAN!
Technical difficulties aplenty this last week, with the live episode not going to plan, the rag from Belfast making a dick of themselves & us not doing the job out there, we just about squeezed in an episode! apologies but back to normality this coming week!
This week we had the pleasure to chat about another not so great performance against Shelbourne, then just when you think things aren't getting any worse, WHAM. Ruaidhri Higgins is the frontrunner to take over Barnsley. Christ the night! Your predictions and another beautifully worded poem by our resident predictor; Adrian Kerr! age 41
before addressing the elephant in the room this week, we gave our two cents on the performances against Cork City & Shamrock. We got all your predictions including not one, but TWO trips to Adrian's Poetry Corner. Then we addressed the rumours doing the rounds both transfer and not so transferry. 1:10:00 roughly to hear the story.
Unfortunately, we had to discuss another couple of absolutely disgraceful decisions by the referee. I'll only upset myself again whilst writing this description so on a more cheerier note, we discussed ours as well as your best ever Derry City XI
this week we were depressed once again by the performances on the field and we had a special guest on to discuss the off the field matters in terms of atmosphere. Unfortunately before that though, we had to discuss the Shels & Pats games that we didn't fare out too well in. Hopefully Friday (today) brings about a bit of hope heading into the first of two breaks.
This week had us chatting about almost everything except the match. We got sidetracked on and off the pitch this week, off the pitch was to be expected but I don't think anyone predicted what was going to happen in the Sligo Showgrounds. We also very very briefly previewed the upcoming games v $h€ls & paaaaaaaats.
In between the many statements issued by multiple sources, we played UCD and went back on top of the league. Naturally we discussed that as well as delve into the statements but before we made it to statementgate, we had a very informative chat with this weeks guest from the Ryan McBride foundation, Paul O'Donnell. A good episode if I do say so myself!
Due to unforeseen technological issues, the episode went out a day later than expected. We had a good long chat about the two wins in 72 hours the tough battle in dalymount and the expected tough battle in the Brandywell (on the pitch against Dundalk not between 69-98) that turned out to be an easy win with some serious contenders for Goal of the Season. We had a brief chat about the upcoming game against the UCD 'scum' as Mark lovingly refers to them as well as a return from the one and only Adrian Kerr with the rest of your predictions included.
Sure we only went and lifted Marks' May curse on Friday past against drogheda at hunky dorys O2 head in the game weavers united park - They've nearly more names than cork city. We reviewed a Maher masterclass as well as add fuel to marks conspiracy theory fire while previewing the upcoming games against Bohs & Dundalk with added miscellaneous bits and pieces.
**Listener discretion** Please be advised that this episode contains plenty of moaning, a lot of hot takes, extreme annoyance and dour hoors. Which is purely what can be expected from ourselves given the events in the Brandywell over the 'May Day' bank holiday. It started off so well, but like most things involving us, turned to absolute dog shite. We knew we'd never maintain winning at home anyway..... listen in for plenty of complaining, some accurate enough predictions and two absolute corkers from our resident 'mystic meg', Adrian Kerr!
Mark & Me talked about the win this day last week down in cork, have we begun to turn the corner? is the ship steadied again? time will tell but we picked the game apart regardless in a lot less detail than previous weeks. We also got sidetracked by the comments on the Facebook post this week & another instalment of Adrians predictions kept us entertained before previewing the two upcoming games over the mayday bank holiday.
This one is a long match review be advised! We had plenty to say about the draw with Dundalk on Sunday past, as well as that we discussed the potential appointment of an assistant manager & speculations about the possible summer transfer of one player in particular away from the club. It's a cracker if I say so myself....
we had a good long chat about the back to back Brandywell defeats over the easter period. Plenty to chat about in the way of decisions made by referees, unimaginative performances and just all round dread. Stick around, it'll be delightful!
We discussed the water polo game in Tolka park baths on Friday night past that seen us back to winning ways despite a wee tiny bit of controversy & yet another belter of a quote from the bluffman. In between Mark drying out we also spoke about losing the legend that is Alan 'Renny' Reynolds, who will replace him ft Fabrizio Rormano & looked forward to yet another Two games in Three days!
We had a very interesting chat about the international break as boring as that sounds, Mark came up with a brilliant idea of naming an international xi of players who could've represented a country outside Ireland/the uk & played for us in our time of going to the brandy. Some dubious omissions but we'll definitely have a look at players from yesteryear in the next international break & rectify that. Something to keep you going while we wait for proper football to return. Speaking of which, we done a very brief preview and prediction of the upcoming game against $h€l$
We were joined by a very special guest this week in James O'Toole, an absolute legend of the Dublin SC and he's also done other things like say...producing MNS/Soccer Republic & the live coverage we experience through RTE & the first professional streaming platform the league ever had in WatchLOI through the pandemic. We had a very good chat about the Sligo game & plenty more on top of it while Kathleen cleaned in the background
We picked apart the draw against Dundalk and looked forward to the St. Patricks day mayhem inbetween getting sidetracked this week as well as having a very interesting and thought provoking chat about our favourite away jerseys. Get on the Facebook page and give us your thoughts on your own!
Myself an Mark were joined by Dan this week for a good chat about beating rovers in Tallaght for the first time since 2017 and followed it up by beating UCD in the Colm Whelan Derby. apologies if you can hear the breathing
we took a brief look back at Fridays fixture and our first home league game against Cork before getting sidetracked and rambling as per!
We're joined this week by transfer rumour merchant Fabrizio Rormano for a good chat about the late draw in Inchicore, the somewhat contentious club statement & of course Rorys Rumours! unfortunately we had to forego the predictions for this week due to a technical fault. Technically we forgot, that was a fault. back next week!
Bombscares, gobshites in attendance & lots of moaning....and that's just us three. Myself, Mark & Keeeeees had a good long chat about the presidents cup, the ongoings off the pitch & a look forward to Fridays game - the first of the season away to paaaaaaats.
Myself, Mark & a special guest appearance from Dan look ahead to the 2023 Season, the Presidents cup & some transfers from around the league
Darren forgot to upload this…twice! We'll put it down to his advanced age now.
A point against Rovers in a game where we deserved so much more
We're back after our summer holidays unpacking a mixed few weeks for City and discussing the appalling heavy handed treatment of our supporters by An Garda Síochána in Dundalk.
We have a guest in chatting about UCD, Riga & our lack of activity or rumours in the transfer market
Were joined with an extended panel for a look at the season so far and a good laugh throughout!
We should have more to show from Friday and this last run of games, but there's a lot of football still to play!
Four big points dropped and now Friday Is Massive... P.S We know it was jumping a bit again but we sorted that at the end and from now on that's the set up we use!
Derry City destroy St Pats 4-0 and we love it. Sound goes from about 18 mins we apologise in advance and hope this is the last dodgy episode!
Our lead at the top shrinks but our confidence returns with 7 past the students!
We're back after a technical hiatus and were 6 points clear at the summit!
Last minute winners are becoming a bit of a speciality
