The long sprint weekend at Spa is in the books, and while the rain delayed the start by 90 minutes, the racing action eventually delivered—mostly. We break down all the key storylines from Belgium, including one of Lewis Hamilton's worst-performing weekends in recent memory—but credit where it's due, the recovery drive on Sunday showed flashes of the old magic. McLaren dominated yet again, locking out P2 and P3 in the Sprint, then storming to a 1-2 finish in the GP. Oscar Piastri took center stage with a bold, lap-one move in the wet that set him up for a gritty and well-deserved first win of the season. Charles Leclerc snuck back onto the podium, while Aston Martin suffered a weekend to forget, showing no pace and no progress. Despite some drama, the race itself veered dangerously close to dull—thanks to weather delays and processional racing once the track dried out. Grab a coffee (or a waffle), and let's debrief Spa.

Heroes are made for conflict. Conflict makes heroes. Avoid stupid conflicts. Avoid the things which take time and attention, but don't bring good or glory. Stories only work with conflict. The better the conflict, the better the hero who faces them. It forces the character of a protagonist to the surface. Weak conflicts create weak stories. Boring. Dull. Do not finish. Crafting the perfect conflict to bring the best from your story and characters is a necessity of good writing. Pick at the thing which makes your protagonist groan, suffer and strive against. It makes for gripping reading if they choose to be heroic. Embrace the conflicts for good purpose. They don't need to manufactured. You don't need to look for them. They will come to you. The Taproot Therapy Podcast - https://www.GetTherapyBirmingham.com
How therapy became a computer program and lost its soul 1973: A researcher walks into a psychiatric hospital claiming to hear voices saying "empty, hollow, thud." He's immediately diagnosed with schizophrenia and held for weeks. The twist? He's perfectly sane. It's all an experiment to prove psychiatric diagnosis is fiction. Those three words - empty, hollow, thud - would become the perfect description of what American therapy was about to become. This episode exposes how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy conquered psychology by promising scientific precision while secretly throwing out everything that makes therapy work. The computer metaphor for mind created treatments that were measurable, billable, and completely ineffective. https://gettherapybirmingham.com/the-weird-history-of-psychotherapy-part-4-empty-hollow-thud-or-cbt-and-the-satanic-panic/ You'll discover: How Aaron Beck's computer metaphor reduced humans to software Why the "evidence-based" revolution was built on falsified research The hidden truth: effective CBT therapists are doing depth work in disguise How the Satanic Panic destroyed trust in memory and trauma Why America's most "rational" era believed in underground demon cults The replication crisis that proved the "gold standard" was fool's gold
In this eye-opening episode of Better Buildings for Humans, host Joe Menchefski sits down with Dr. Sandra Dedesko—engineer, indoor air expert, and healthy buildings researcher—for a compelling dive into how the air we breathe indoors is shaping our minds. From her work with Harvard's COGFX studies to her current research in Switzerland, Sandra unpacks how even low levels of CO₂ can subtly impair cognitive function—especially creativity. She shares how indoor air acts as an invisible performance driver, and why better ventilation might be the most underrated upgrade in our built environment. They also explore low-carbon ventilation strategies, wildfire smoke protection, and the powerful role of moisture in building performance. A must-listen for anyone who thinks clearer spaces start with clearer air.More About Sandra Dedesko:Sandra works at the intersection of engineering and public health to help improve the health and sustainability impacts of buildings. With a background in civil engineering and building design, Sandra elected to pursue a PhD in public health to better incorporate health into her future work. She recently completed her PhD at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health where her dissertation research focused on the link between buildings and cognitive performance. She's recently started as a scientist at EPFL in Switzerland where she continues to pursue her transdisciplinary research, passion for outdoor sports, and proficiency in French.CONTACT:https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandra-dedesko-835b6657/ https://x.com/sdedeskoWhere To Find Us:https://bbfhpod.advancedglazings.com/www.advancedglazings.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/company/better-buildings-for-humans-podcastwww.linkedin.com/in/advanced-glazings-ltd-848b4625https://twitter.com/bbfhpodhttps://twitter.com/Solera_Daylighthttps://www.instagram.com/bbfhpod/https://www.instagram.com/advancedglazingsltdhttps://www.facebook.com/AdvancedGlazingsltd
It was a busy week in the golf world this week and it began with Ben Griffin getting his first solo PGA Tour win at the Colonial Country Club. Griffin was able to hang on down the stretch for a one-stroke victory and crept closer to a possible Ryder Cup spot with the win. It is major week in women's golf as the best players in the world head to Wisconsin and Erin Hills for the U.S. Open. Mike and Tim have played Erin Hills and give a little insight into the golf course. Marc Dull stamped his name into USGA four-ball lore last week when he won a match at the amateur four-ball championship by himself. After his partner had to leave, Dull managed to win a match and then pushed his next match deep into the round until bowing out. The improbability is crazy and we are here to talk about it. We had the PGA Tour changing the tour championship, Charlie Woods with a psycho scorecard, Will Zalatoris with another back injury and the podcast guys discuss the one-man scramble they played in this week on episode 141 of the Break80 Podcast. Host Richard Cracknell is joined by Spurs Stadium Singer Tim Winstone, George Achillea and Marlon Via Spurs Kings TV as West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur traded first-half goals and settled for a stodgy 1-1 draw on Sunday that will leave neither particularly thrilled or disappointed — at least it wasn't another loss. Spurs went ahead in the 15th minute after Max Kilman got himself into all kinds of trouble and lost the ball to Mathys Tel deep in his own half. Tel quickly played it across the penalty area and found Wilson Odobert, who settled and fired past Alphonse Areola for his first Premier League goal with the club. It was 1-0 until the 28th minute, as Jarrod Bowen raced in behind Spurs' defense and shot between Guglielmo Vicario's legs from near the end line to reach double-digit PL goals for the third time in four seasons. With the draw, Spurs (38 points) remain 16th in the PL table, still a point and a place above West Ham (37 points). Suffice to say, the (league) season can't end soon enough for either side. Spurs, of course, still cling to the hope of winning the Europa League. They lead Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt 3-1 after their semifinal home leg on Thursday. When we see the glory of God in his word, we know for sure and we rejoice forever. Glory persuades and pleases, gives certainty and satisfaction.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- From the Oval Office, President Donald Trump noted that in 2024 “the Biden Administration saw a loss of more than 110k manufacturing jobs.” However, Trump declared that after just one full month in office, his administration “stopped the manufacturing collapse” and has achieved “major gains.” 3:10pm- According to a recent court filing, Hunter Biden revealed that over the past several years he has sold 27 paintings for an average price of $54,000—but recently he has only sold one piece of art for just $36,000. Hmm. I wonder what changed? This certainly couldn't have anything to do with his father, former President Joe Biden, leaving office…right? 3:20pm- While taking questions from the press, President Donald Trump said of Ukraine: “we are trying to help them” but that they need to be more receptive to ending the war with Russia. Adding, “I am finding it more difficult, frankly, to deal with Ukraine.” 3:30pm- After interrupting President Donald Trump's address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night and ultimately being removed, Rep. Al Green (D-TX) continues to suggest he will bring articles of impeachment against the president. In honor of the stupidity, Rich plays a flashback—when Rep. Green spoke from the floor of the House and declared that President Trump is guilty of “dastardly deeds.”
