In this third sermon of Jeremiah we are reminded that to obey is better than sacrifice and Christian liberty is not freedom to live as you please or by the old adage, its easier to get forgiveness than it is forgiveness.
Jeremiah was called to serve in a political climate much like today.
God's design is for the woman to honor and the husband to cherish in the same way that Jesus loved the church and gave Himself for it.
The touch and timing of the Lord are required to serve Him. You cannot serve in your own strength or on your own timing.
Don't leave the cross in the shadows but live out the resurrection of Jesus.

How gloriously adapted is Christianity for human society in all conditions! In relation to our gov't, obey for wrath's sake you don't want to spend the night in jail, obey for consciencesake because your relationship to God will make you a better citizen, a better person, obey for love's sake because that helps keep America's standing in the world and finally, obey for Jesus's sake who loves you, gave Himself for you, died and was buried, and is coming again John 14:3 to receive you unto Himself; that where He is, there ye may be also.
When your vertical relationship is right with the Lord then your horizontal relationships will find order (Mt.6:33). When you're out of sorts with others, its a symptom of your relationship with God.

Paul prayed for the salvation of Israel who were religiously zealous but far from God. The law can only ever work the righteousness of man and never the righteousness of God.
Be careful about trying to over-explain the sovereignty of God. Leave some room for the mystery of God. God never makes anyone stubborn beyond their own rebellious heart. We all start from a position of lost.
What more can be said? If God has done so much to save us, will He not now care for us? Verse 34 gives the 4-fold work of Christ: Crucifixion, Resurrection, Exaltation, and Intercession.
Some call this the ascending order of salvation. These verses are the purpose to which God has called us in v.28. We know God can provide our need because He knows our need.
