We kick off with a quick bit of admin: NZ Mardi Gras ≠ Sydney's Mardi Gras — this one's the mountain music blowout at Ruapehu. Then it's straight into Caamzie's guest questions: ball-grooming misadventures (the “nut-cutter 2000s” versus a careful no-guard trim), what he'd buy first with a billion (spoiler: box of piss, drift track, houses for the crew, and an open chequebook for mates with real business plans), and his biggest screw-up — flipping a freshly bought Surf in a park donut session with a cabin full of mates, engine screaming in a diesel runaway while he's hanging upside down by the belt and booting at the window. Everyone walked away; the truck didn't. We round it out with teen firsts, most-famous run-ins (Nyjah & Yelawolf), a one-punch dust-up that turned into a dance-floor melee, and the crucial closer: any animal as a pet? Give the man a dragon (or Appa). It's rough, raw, and very, very Caamzie.#propertrueyarn Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
There's a lot of popular ideas out there about body hair removal. Shave too much and the hair becomes thicker. Wax, and it will gradually start thinning out. It can be hard to know who or what to believe. Both women and men increasingly spend a lot of their time and money removing body hair, even though it acts as a barrier to bacteria, and sexually transmitted diseases in the case of pubic hair. Shaving with a razor, using an electric epilator and waxing all have their own pros and cons. But let's take a moment to consider the rarely discussed topic of whether any of them pose health risks. Shaving for example is perhaps the most popular hair removal method due to how quick, easy and cheap it is. Using a razor is actually quite harsh on the skin though, and tends to dry it out in the long run. Depilatory creams are a gentler alternative, but they also contain certain hair-softening chemicals which can irritate the skin or worse, trigger an allergic reaction. Are there any risks associated with waxing? It is said that bikini waxing can be particularly harmful. Is that true? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! TALK TO ME, TEXT ITHeadlines screamed about a flashy gambling scandal, but we weren't buying the outrage. Instead, we turned the mic toward something personal and practical: the day we chose to stop hiding hair loss and start living bald on purpose. From the last clumps in the shower to a no-nonsense barbershop shave and an unremarkable lunch in public, this is a grounded look at confidence, not a self-help monologue. No melodrama, no pity—just honest steps, clean lines, and a lighter head.We share why empty scandal bait fails to earn our attention, especially when bigger harms deserve the spotlight. Then we walk through the real decision points of alopecia: taking hard photos, trusting instincts, picking a barber who executes, and discovering that strangers mostly don't care—liberating proof that much of the fear is a mirror-made story. Wigs get a reset, too: wear them for joy, not survival. That spirit launched The Bald Icon, a space to normalize bald beauty without turning it into a crisis. If you're teetering between one more cover-up and a fresh start, you'll find practical tips, hard-won perspective, and a few laughs about expectations versus reality. We close with a simple prompt to get you talking and remembering the journeys that shaped you. Hit play, share with someone who needs a nudge toward self-trust, and tell us your take. Agriculture plays a part in everything we do. Recently, I was surprised to learn that agriculture even has a role in tattoo art. Graham Cassellius joins us from his 34-acre farm named Cassell Hollow Farm in Vernon County. When he bought the farm more than a decade ago, he inherited about 3,500 hazelnut trees. It took a few years for him to decide that it was time to start making something with those hazelnuts. It took him into a niche market of helping people maintain their fresh ink. But it wasn't easy -- growing a unique specialty crop in Wisconsin comes with challenges. Luckily, he had help from the Upper Midwest Hazelnut Development Initiative. Now, his valuable hazelnut skin oils will be featured at the Madison Tattoo Festival, September 12-14.A little rain today depending on where you are in Wisconsin, but the good news - warmer weather's on the way. Stu Muck explains the outlook in our Compeer Financial ag weather update.Just before the harvest lies the sweet spot for some farm equipment sales. Ashley Huhn with the Steffes Group explains to Pam Jahnke that sometimes farms want to go into the harvest with a little "insurance" in the form of back-up equipment. That can make for some robust auction prices. He explains in this week's Steffes Group update. Paid for by the Steffes Group.Markets reflect the near ideal weather the crop's enjoyed and the international challenges some grains are running into. Wisconsin's crop progress update shows a slight decline in the soybean readings, but the corn harvest has surpassed 10%. Meanwhile the state's potato growers can pace themselves with the harvest as long as the weather stays cool and dry. Pam Jahnke updates where numbers stand.Wisconsin’s wine grape harvest is underway, and at Bailey’s Run Vineyard in New Glarus, manager Aimee Arrigoni is watching the weather closely. She oversees six acres and 3,000 vines. The early Edelweiss has already been picked, but later-ripening reds are still waiting on September warmth. Recent swings between hot and unusually cool temperatures have stalled sugar levels, raising the risk of fruit damage from birds, bees, and disease. Despite the challenges, Arrigoni says yields are strong and quality is high, with promising reds like Marquette and Petite Pearl set for harvest later this month into early October.Shave them to save them. The phrase isn’t talking about beards and moustaches in this scenario, but rather a program run by the livestock conservancy to save our sheep. Ben Jarboe visits with Jeanette Baranger, the senior program manager for the livestock conservancy which has been in existence for about 7 years. She says one element they're promoting is how shaving the animal can actually help save them. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Send us a textThis month we sit down with Richard Marlar, a physician and president of the Navajo-Churro Sheep Association to talk about heritage livestock breeds - specifically the Navajo-Churro - which have been integral to the settlement and development of the US. Richard also discusses Split Upper Eyelid Disorder (SUED), a developmental disorder that affects four-horned sheep such as the Navajo-Churro. Dr. Marlar explains how he and his wife worked with their veterinarian as well as human physicians to develop a hypothesis about the cause of this disease based on similar diseases that affect humans. This collaboration also helped the Marlars devise a prevention plan by improving their animals' nutrition, especially around breeding and during gestation which has eliminated the incidence of SUED in their flock. Richard provides unique insight for producers and veterinarians about collaborating across medical specialties to develop hypotheses and carryout their own mini-research trials to address challenges that they face within their operation and beyond. This episode highlights the importance of a One Health approach to veterinary challenges and the important role that a veterinarian can play in advocating for their clients through collaboration with university connections, extension programs, and human medical experts when novel challenges are identified. The difference between hitting your goal time and missing it often comes down to what you consume, not just how you train. If you're a runner who wants to train smarter, not just harder, this episode is packed with practical, science-backed strategies to fuel better, recover faster, and race stronger. I break down key tools and tactics that go way beyond just eating carbs and drinking water. You'll learn what actually works, why timing and consistency matter more than hype, and how small tweaks to your diet and supplement routine can lead to big performance gains. Whether you're prepping for your next race or trying to stay consistent in training, this is your roadmap to making informed, effective choices without the guesswork.Key TakeawaysSmart fueling boosts performance: Fueling your body with the right nutrients and supplements can significantly improve endurance and recovery, especially during long-distance running.Timing and balance are key: Some supplements work best right before a race (like caffeine), while others (like creatine) need daily use. Hydration and electrolytes should be constant.Experiment carefully: Not every supplement works for everyone. Start small, track how your body reacts, and adjust to avoid stomach issues or wasted effort.Timestamps[00:13] What You'll learn[32:10] Caffeine[02:03] Hydration & Electrolytes[05:08] Get Your Free 8-Week Race Day Toolkit Training & Habits Plan[06:06] Nutrition[08:54] Creatine[11:59] Tart Cherry Juice[14:18] Beetroot Juice[17:33] Cordyceps Mushroom[19:26] Spirulina[20:31] Beta Alanine[23:03] Acetyl L-Carnitine[24:41] CBD Oil[26:43] Bicarb/Baking Soda[31:27] End: CTALinks & Learnings

Daily Halacha Podcast - Daily Halacha By Rabbi Eli J. Mansour
The custom among Ashkenazim is to refrain from shaving and haircutting throughout the three-week period of Ben Ha'mesarim, from Shiba Asar Be'Tammuz through Tisha B'Ab. Sepharadim, by contrast, observe this practice only during the week of Tisha B'Ab, from the Shabbat immediately preceding Tisha B'Ab until the 10 th of Ab. If a Sephardic boy is studying in an Ashkenazic yeshiva, where the majority of the students are refraining from shaving and haircutting already from Shiba Asar Be'Tammuz, he is nevertheless allowed to shave and take a haircut, until the week of Tisha B'Ab. However, it is preferable that he avoid doing so in order not to stand out. Hacham Ovadia Yosef writes about one who is stringent in this regard, "Tabo Alav Beracha" – he is worthy of special blessing. If a Sephardic student in an Ashkenazic institution has been accustomed to acting stringently, refraining from shaving and haircutting already from Shiba Asar Be'Tammuz, and now wishes to change his practice, he may perform Hatarat Nedarim (the annulment of vows). His acceptance of this practice constitutes a "vow," assuming he never explicitly said that he was taking on this practice "Beli Neder" – without making a formal vow. Thus, if he wishes to change his practice so he can shave or take a haircut during the Three Weeks (until the week of Tisha B'Ab), he should conduct Hatarat Nedarim in front of a Bet Din to have his commitment annulled. However, Hatarat Nedarim is required only if the student knew that this stringency was not strictly required by Halacha, and he had followed this practice as an additional measure of piety. If, however, he mistakenly thought that he must refrain from shaving and haircutting already from Shiba Asar Be'Tammuz, and he then learned that this is not required, then he may drop this stringent practice even without Hatarat Nedarim. Since this "vow" was taken on a faulty premise, as he erroneously assumed that Halacha requires him to refrain from shaving and haircutting, the "vow" is not binding, and he may therefore change his practice even without annulling his vow. Summary: Sephardic practice is to refrain from shaving and haircutting during the week of Tisha B'Ab. A Sephardic student studying in an institution where the majority of students are Ashkenazim – who refrain from shaving and haircutting already from Shiba Asar Be'Tammuz – may shave and take a haircut until the week of Tisha B'Ab, even though the other students refrain from doing so. Nevertheless, it is preferable him to refrain in deference to the Ashkenazic students. If he had observed this stringency and now wishes to act leniently, he may perform Hatarat Nedarim. If he had observed this stringency because he mistakenly thought it was Halachically required, then he does not need Hatarat Nedarim.
