Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, sources tell The Athletic. The 33-year-old forward, who just completed his third year with the Nets, is under contract through the 2025-26 season after signing a four-year, $198 million extension in 2021. The former league MVP (2014) averaged 29.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game last season. Durant's request comes hours before the start of free agency and three days after teammate Kyrie Irving opted into his player option for the 2022-23 season. Durant was monitoring the organization's situation prior to Irving's opt-in, sources previously said. Minnesota is receiving one of the best defenders in the NBA. Gobert is a three-time Kia Defensive Player of the Year and has been a First Team All-Defensive selection for six straight seasons. He's made the All-Star Game in three consecutive seasons with averages of 15 points and 13.9 rebounds per game. He leaves a Jazz team that has loaded up on a slew of future assets since the start of free agency. Utah acquired a 2023 first-round pick from the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday in exchange for Royce O'Neale. Although negotiations between the Lakers and Nets have seemingly stalled as a third team such as the Spurs might need to get involved, all rumors coming out still point towards Kyrie eventually joining LeBron James and Anthony Davis with the Lakers. Straight Facts Episode 10: NBA Finals Predictions, Reason For Phoenix Suns Loss, Rappers & Rico Cases + More

In the Eastern Conference finals, two rivals collide in the Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics showdown. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and the Celtics are fresh off unseating Giannis Antetokounmpo and the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks. The top-seeded Heat, meanwhile, ousted the Philadelphia 76ers in six games. The Western Conference finals won't include either the Phoenix Suns or Memphis Grizzlies, the NBA's top two teams during the regular season. Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks ended Phoenix's run with a historic Game 7 rout, while the Warriors sent home the upstart yet shorthanded Grizzlies. Will the Celtics reach the Finals for the first time since 2010? Can the Warriors restart their dynasty? Will the Luka magic continue? The Phoenix Suns lost to the Dallas Mavericks 123-90 on Sunday night at Footprint Center, losing their Western Conference semifinal series in seven games. The Suns were down 57-27 at halftime. They were down 30 points. At halftime. In an elimination game. At home. Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and Chris Paul combined for six points at halftime. The entire Suns starting five had 15 points at halftime, and by that point Dallas guard Spencer Dinwiddie had come off the bench to score 21 by himself. Who is to blame for their loss? The Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors are the only two teams to win back-to-back championships in the last decade. The chance to repeat is hard to do in this day and age with how rosters change and with how players play the game. Thugger, Gunna and 26 other members of YSL have been indicted on RICO charges, with Thug being taken into custody at his home this morning. According to Seiden, "The indictment includes charges of conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, murder, armed robbery , participation in criminal street gang activity."

Boston will now advance on to face the winner of the series between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Chicago Bulls. There will be plenty of questions facing the Nets this offseason and it seems safe to say that they will have to deal with those questions much sooner than anyone had expected. After James Harden was traded to Philly, the conversation immediately shifted to Harden's current contract and what his future in Philly might look like. That question was quickly answered, though, as Shams Charania of The Athletic reported in a tweet that Harden will be opting into his $47.3 million player option for next season. The Sixers will have Harden under contract for the remainder of this season and the entire 2022-23 campaign. But after that, things get a bit complicated. Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has been named the 2021-22 Kia NBA Most Improved Player. A three-year NBA veteran, Morant becomes the first player to win the Kia NBA Most Improved Player Award with Memphis. The annual award, which was first presented in the 1985-86 season, is designed to honor an up-and-coming player who has made a dramatic improvement from the previous season or seasons. Morant received 221 points (38 first-place votes) from a global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters. San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray finished in second place with 183 points (20 first-place votes). Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland finished in third place with 178 points (11 first-place votes). Players were awarded five points for each first-place vote, three points for each second-place vote and one point for each third-place vote. When certain producers team up with certain artists, magic ensues. These combinations of producers and artists have shown that there is a winning formula that can translate into record sales and utter success. Some producers stick with their favorite artist like Noah “40” Shebib does with Drake and some separate then reunite like Jermaine Dupri and Usher; either way, these duos have created classics!

1-Moves are already happening ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline (Thursday, 3 p.m. ET) to put players with new teams for the 2021-22 regular season. 2-The 2021-22 NBA All-Star player pool is set after the NBA announced the Eastern and Western Conference reserves on Thursday night. The Westreserves were led by two sets of teammates -- Phoenix's Chris Paul and Devin Booker and Utah's Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell -- with Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors) and Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves) rounding out the list. Two first-time All-Star guards headline the East reserves in Cleveland's Darius Garland and Toronto's Fred VanVleet to go along with veterans Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat), James Harden (Brooklyn Nets), Zach LaVine (Chicago Bulls), Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics). 3-Someone might say that despite the poor performance this season, Russell Westbrook is still one of the top point guards in the NBA today. Indeed, Westbrook has been like this in the past few years. However, despite being an elite player, Westbrook himself has been traded from one team to another year after year. 4-Athletes and artists have made headlines as they opted to get paid in crypto. In 2021 alone, many reports have shown that athletes are getting paid in crypto. In August, soccer star Lionel Messi received fan tokens for his deal with Paris Saint-Germain. In November, National Football League players Odell Beckham Jr. and Aaron Rodgers chose to accept crypto payments. The former said he would take his full NFL salary in Bitcoin (BTC), while the latter would receive only part of his salary in BTC. 5-Over the course of the past couple weeks, it has become evident that Gunna is now a formidable rap powerhouse, rather than his prior status as a burgeoning up-and-comer. This was made clear by his topping of the hottest pop star in the world right now, The Weeknd. 6-Bow Wow was trending on social media as fans argued that they could not name three different songs from Bow Wow, seemingly forgetting about tracks including "Shortie Like Mine," "Like You," or even "Basketball" from earlier in his career. Unfortunately, it seems as though the trend may have hurt Bow's confidence because the entertainer named his one regret on Twitter, explaining that he wishes he would have never released any music.
