A podcast about the Memphis Grizzlies. As Jaren Jackson Jr said, "The Litness transcended through everybody". Hosted by Zac & Jake. The “Core Four” is dead (RIP) but we think we’re in good hands going forward. Hosted by Zac & Jake. Part of Lineups Podcast
We are officially looking towards the second half of the season. Being 16-16 with all the injuries and still no Jaren is something I think we all would have taken going into the season.Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
I guess we are partially to blame (or congratulate) after killing Tyus last podcast, he was the most consistent guy this week. Just 2 more games until the midseason break and hopefully some good news about Jaren.Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
Justise Winslow played in an actual NBA basketball game for the Memphis Grizzlies! We talk about that, the weird week, why Seanny McD keeps getting playing time, and if Tyus is the back up PG of the future.Follow us @litnesspodcast everywhere
Not a ton of news Grizzlies related but a ton of crappy games happened this week! Join us. We will talk about them and how awful especially the Lakers game was.Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
We are back weekly (again) and it's not our fault that the Grizzlies were shut down for 13 days! We talk all for games this week (Spurs twice, Pacers, and Rockets), hit injury updates, possible trade rumors, why you have to play Bane more, and hit the Hustle roster and assignments. Let us know if you like this format going forward.Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
We are back! Ja is back! Everyone except Jaren and Justise are back! We got behind on recording (you will hear why) and this episode is completely different format wise than our normal show. Do you like this better? Let us know. Also, starting now, we will be recording weekly from here on our on a set day so that is something we are very excited about.Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
We are officially back for the season! 2021 is here and we started it off with the best game of the season (not counting Ja's 44 point season debut). We cover all the 5 Grizzlies games so far against the Spurs, Hawks, Nets, Celtics, and Hornets as well as our overall thoughts on the preseason and the players we've seen so far.We also talk about how someone tried to scam me out of $40 on Jontay Porter's twitter. Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
We are back! The 2020 season is just around the corner and The Grizzlies have had their draft and all the moves we are expecting in free agency. We talk about Desmond Bane, Xavier Tillman, Killian Tillie, and Sean McDermott and then discuss the re-signings of De'Anthony Melton, John Konchar, and Jontay Porter.Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast and please rate 5 stars and review. Thanks!
The Bubble for the Grizzlies is over. The season was a success even if we had a bad run of injuries at the end. We look ahead to the draft and some potential free agency targets and what we think might happen this offseason. Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
We cover everything through the first 4 games in the Orlando bubble including the terrible Jaren Jackson Jr news. This is the episode that almost didn't happen. Multiple technological failures and timing issues but in the end, we pushed through and made it happen. Be sure to follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
We are back! The Orlando bubble is set to kick off so we decided that now was the perfect time to jump back in now that we have actually Grizzlies news. We talk the 8 game schedule so far, Tolliver being signed for the whole season, what the rotation will look like in Orlando, and how the NBA is clearly favoring the Pelicans.Follow us on social media @litnesspodcast
We just wanted to let any of our listeners know that we also do another podcast called Smashing Heads Podcast that covers a TV show that is jokingly considered the 5th Major Sports. It's called The Challenge. There is a new season starting on April 1st and it looks insane! The season is called "Total Madness" and here is the trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCbeTvvIp4EYou can follow our other podcast:Twitter @smashingheadsInstagram @smashingheadspodcastFacebook @smashingheadspodcastIf you make the jump this season to watch, let us know! We will be back with more Grizzlies content as soon as there is anything to talk about but we will be steadily recording on Smashing Heads Podcast from here on out.
Do you want to hear another 2 guys on the internet talk to you about COVID-19 aka Corona Virus? Of course not! But here we are. Before all that we discuss the games leading up to this suspension as well as the release of Jordan Bell, signing of Anthony Tolliver and Jontay Porter, and how we would like to see Josh Jackson on this team long term. Then we get into what the suspension means for the Grizzlies in particular, which even though this sucks and we are without basketball for a month (at least), it might not be the worst thing to have an extra month of rest for Jaren, Justise, and Brandon Clarke.Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
Not really. The title is more of a take on how we feel everyone is reacting to these games post-All Star break. Yeah, it sucks. But there are also a bunch of key factors that contributed to this brutal road trip. Injuries to 3 of the top 6 players on the team, all away games, playing 3 of the top 7 NBA teams within a 5 day stretch, new players working into rotations. It was a pending disaster, the only game to really be upset about losing is the Kings. The others had some awful stretches to them but they were likely losses regardless. Were there things that needed to be improved on during those games? Absolutely, 1st quarter scoring in particular, but it's not AS BAD as what it would seem if you take a step back and really examine it all.Follow us on social media everywhere @litnesspodcast
We break down the significance of having 3 guys in the rising stars game and being well represented at All Star Weekend even if they weren't on the "big stage" yet. We also hit the 3 games that led into All Star Weekend 2/7/20 vs 76ers, 2/9/20 vs Wizards, and 2/12/20 vs Blazers. Now we look ahead to the last 28 games of the season and the playoff push, even if the national media thinks it's a fact we will fall out.Make sure to follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast and rating and reviewing us 5 stars and telling your friends/family really does help.
Good riddance to Andre Igoudala and his insane spin of the situation to the national media. We will genuinely miss Jae Crowder, Pastor Hill, and Bruno Cabocolo though. Those were great locker room guys. We are insanely excited Justise Winslow, Gorgui Dieng, and. Jordan Bell though. Dion Waiters is not coming anywhere near this team, which is how it should be.We also discuss the games from 1/31/20-2/5/20 vs the Pelicans, Pistons, and Mavs.Make sure to follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast and leaving a 5-star review really does help!
#Mamba4Life #Mambacita4LifeWoooweee we got a banger to go out on before we recorded. The Knicks are just a top to bottom trash fire and it just keeps getting worse. We did a supersized episode because we were out of pocket last weekend and there is a ton to cover so let's get into it! This one covers everything from the Cavs game on 1/17/20 through the Knicks game on 1/29/20.Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
I'm aware in the intro of the show I said an "8 game win streak". We correct it later on but we were so hyped on the amount of insane basketball we just watched that I hope you can forgive this small oversight. The Memphis Grizzlies are fun. Like, too fun? That's not possible but there is no reason they should be this good this early on. Ja and JJJ developing like this at just 20 years old is incredible. The fact that Ja, Jaren, and DILLON BROOKS all want to play in the biggest moments and think they can beat anyone is a joy to watch. They work hard and it shows but we have to also give credit to the coaching staff. Taylor Jenkins has to be in the consideration for Coach Of The Year, right? This is the team that Memphis deserves and the amount of national coverage over the last month or so has been almost unbelievable. We are the new sweetheart, fun team in the NBA! Follow us everywhere @litnesspodcast
If you follow us on social media (which you really should @litnesspodcast everywhere) you've seen that we decided to tweak our format going forward. In full transparency, we weren't having as much fun as we'd like and we felt like that was coming through. We explain it all at the top of the show and will be continuing to tweak and change as needed or as it feels right. SPOILER ALERT: we already had way more fun doing it this way! We talk about the game spanning from 12/28/19 - 1/7/20 and hit a couple of other topics along the way like: Josh Jackson: Does anyone know what is going on?Trade Deadline: Are the Grizzlies under the radar buyers?Big Jelly: Who is he?Marquese Chriss: Still sucks?Again, we wanted to thank everyone who has listened or checked us out so far. We really appreciate it!
This is our recap for the games vs Thunder (12/18/19), vs Cavs (12/20/19, vs Kings (12/21/19), vs Spurs (12/23/19), and vs Thunder (12/26/19).It wasn't a great week, all things considered, but at least we won 2 of them! I (Zac) had the flu and with it being Christmas time this was the earliest we were able to record but we hit every game we missed and then broke down Zach Randolph's official retirement and what he means to the franchise long term. We also talk about Jae's horrendous shooting numbers and Tyus getting back on track and then do a mini look ahead to next summer's free agency when the Grizzlies have the 2nd highest amount of capspace. As always, rating and reviewing the show 5 stars really help but tell your friends too! Make sure to follow us on social media @litnesspodcast
We recap Week 8 of the Grizzlies season vs the Suns (12/11/19), Bucks (12/13/19), Wizards (12/14/19), and Heat (12/16/19)This episode was a tiny bit delayed but it is technically out before the Grizzlies tip off against the Thunder. It was by far the best week of the season from all perspectives.Make sure to follow us on all social media @litnesspodcast
We're back! This is our recap for the Memphis Grizzlies games 12/4/19 vs Bulls, 12/7/19 vs Jazz, and 12/9/19 vs Warriors. We are so glad we waited to record until we had this third game with Ja back because these first two were ROUGH. Ja makes this team better in every single way. It's unreal. He shouldn't be this good this early but he is somehow.Make sure to follow us on all social media @litnesspodcast
Everyone is hurt or sick. We have 10 guys available to play and that includes the 2-way Yuta Watanabe. Surprisingly, through all this adversity, the last two games were mostly competitive! I guess if we ever need to break a losing streak, let's just hope the TImberwolves are coming up on the schedule because they, well, you saw the games.
4 GAME LOSING STREAK 4 GAME LOSING STREAK 4 GAME LOSING STREAKWe're actually not freaking out about it. There are definitely some things that need to be discussed, like Tyus's funk but it's still very early on in the season. Is JJJ legitimately our best 3pt option? Should the Grizzlies go to the teal uniforms full time? Do the players want Josh Jackson on the team? Can I think of any more questions to put in this description? Probably, but I'll stop now.Make sure to rate and review us and tell your friends! Also, all of our social media is @litnesspodcast
Our Memphis Grizzlies recap for the games against the Spurs (11/11), Hornets (11/13), Jazz (11/15), and Nuggets (11/17). I think it's safe to say this is the best week of games we've had so far in this early season. Ja has to be the front runner for ROY contention and Brandon Clarke is gonna get severely overlooked but he has been amazing so far. Like, truly unbelievable. As of this posting, we just got word that the Grizzlies will officially be wearing the Vancouver throwbacks on Saturday 11/23/19 which we have all been waiting for. This season is insanely fun already and I think we can sustain what we've seen so far.Make sure to follow us on all social media @litnesspodcast
We're back! (for real) My wife and I moved into a new house and still do not have cable or internet set up but all that is being fixed this week. Because of that, we had to do 2 weeks worth of games in a podcast instead of week by week. We will be back to weekly from here on out now that we are in the new house! There were definite highs this week but some bad (horrible really) lows too. We get into all that and more. #FreeJamesWiseman
We are officially done with the first week of the season and what a freaking game to end on! We break down our thoughts on all three games from this week (Heat, Bulls, and Nets). We address the issues we saw but also talk about how they have improved every game so far. Ja is the REAL DEAL and I don't see how anyone could watch this Nets game and not lose your mind thinking about how great the future will be.From here on out we will be recording weekly recaps all the games and Grizzlies related news! Make sure to follow us on social media @litnesspodcast everywhere to stay up to date on everything.
We're back! It's the week of the opening games and we are so excited for this season to finally start. We go over each preseason game and out take aways, good and bad, that we saw from each. We also talk about the roster update since we waived Ivan Rabb and whatever Plumlee brother we had. We debate who should be the starting SG and also do our first Litness Test which we will be doing every week. Who is going to the home opener on Friday? Hit us up!
We had a ton of breaking news this week that we needed to cover heading into Media Day and training camp. We hit what we expect on Media Day and if we think we will get an appearance of Zach Kleiman. Then we move on to who will 100% be absent form media day and what we expect out of those situations concerning Andre Iguodala and Josh Jackson. The Grizzlies hit us with a medical update concerning Kyle Anderson, Dillon Brooks, Jaren Jackson Jr, De'Anthony Melton, and Ja Morant and was almost all good news. We then hit preseason and why is it in 2019 that 2 of the preseason games aren't televised. We talk a little more about who we expect to get cut before the season starts and then we wrap up going over the Giveaway Schedule for next season. Also, special shoutout to all our international listeners so far! We discuss all the offseason moves. Front office, draft class, free agents, etc. This was quite a summer and by all account, national media included, the Grizzlies had one heck of an offseason. Let's hope this season can live up to all the expectations created by all the moves made this summer.Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Welcome to the first OFFICIAL episode of The Litness! We wanted to give our in-depth trip down memory lane of favorite players, overlooked non-stars, reasonable free agent targets to fit with the new core, and so on. We had a ton of fun reminiscing about the good and bad times we've had as fans and ultimately how excited we are for this season even if the Grizzlies might be pretty bad record wise. We even throw in some FIBA updates featuring Grizzlies players up top.Make sure to follow us on social media @litnesspodcast on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.Learn more about your ad choices. This is our quick introduction to you all so you can get a feel for what to expect from us as the season goes forward. We are super excited about this season and really happy to be on board with Lineups as part of their podcast network. This season is going to be so much fun even if the Grizzlies are all basically baby birds learning how to fly (other than Valanciunas). The front office is killing it, every one is excited for the young guys, and there is just a ton of positive energy surrounding the team right now and we can't wait to break it all down week by week as the season goes forward.Make sure to follow us @litnesspodcast on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook or you can email thelitnesspodcast@gmail.com for any questions.
