Recorded: May 23, 2024 | We had a fan favorite back on the bus again, Jelly Roll. Jelly had been absolutely crushing life and came on to recap some of it with the boys. He had won a bunch of different awards, appeared on American Idol and The Voice, and even spoke to Congress about the drug problem in America, along with a bunch of other topics. Jelly got into his journey of trying to become a healthier version of himself and all the trials and tribulations that came with it. He also talked about his dreams of giving back to the youth of Nashville as well as playing the last show at Nissan Stadium. The podcast jumped all over the place, but that’s usually what happened when Jelly joined the boys. A bunch of laughs, some serious convos, and just an overall good time. Enjoy fellas!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week on The Vergecast, Chris Niccolls and Jordan Drake of PetaPixel's YouTube channel join The Verge's Allison Johnson and Vjeran Pavic to geek out about the last half-decade of camera advancements — the good, the bad, and the Sigma BF of it all. Then, Allison is joined by Verge News Editor and fellow phone nerd Dominic Preston to help answer a boatload of listener questions from people contemplating which smartphone to buy next. They help navigate the intricacies of living in a mixed iOS/Android household to the best options for someone who wants a headphone jack (spoiler alert: there aren't many). That leads to Jelly's ongoing battle with vanishing socks and a dive into their everyday quirks—like Bunnie never wearing the same outfit twice and her husband's obsession with a clean shirt daily. Episode 990- Jason Interviews Brian Gonsar DRACULA'S BRUNCH CLUBDracula's Brunch Club graphic novel: Have you ever wondered how vampires got their taste for blood? In Dracula's Brunch Club, it all started with a crimson-red donut, dripping and oozing with spooky secrets—I mean, jelly. Dripping and oozing with non-spooky-tasting JELLY. Get ready to sink your fangs into the hilarious new graphic novel Blood, treachery, and humor from two promising newcomers not enough? Count Dracula is not your average vampire. Well, sure, he's undead, hates garlic, and will burn up in sunlight––but unlike other vampires, he has a knack for baking. And it's his brunch club's famous blood-orange-jelly donuts that give his fellow vampires the energy source they need to live forever. But when Transylvania experiences a mysterious jelly shortage, it allows his nemesis, Constantine, to swoop in and steal the brunch club—and the vampires' loyalty—from Dracula. But it's not just jelly donuts at stake. When townsfolk start to go missing, Dracula suspects Constantine has far more sinister motives lurking that could threaten everything vampires and humans have worked for. With the help of his chef and human friend, Elena, Dracula must find a new energy source before every vampire and human turns on him and he loses his coveted brunch club forever.Buy It: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Draculas-Brunch-Club/Brian-Gonsar/9781637158401Theme Songs by Drew: Donuts and Darkness & Jelly DreamsLike & Subscribe on Youtube www.youtube.com/@comicsforfunandprofit5331Patreon https://www.patreon.com/comicsfunprofit Merch https://comicsfunprofit.threadless.comYour Support Keeps Our Show Going On Our Way to a Thousand EpisodesDonate Here https://bit.ly/36s7YeLAll the C4FaP links you could ever need https://beacons.ai/comicsfunprofit Listen To the Episode Here: https://comcsforfunandprofit.podomatic.com/
Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse, Pennsylvania, may be known today for its bustling shops, restaurants, and homemade jams, but it all started in a garage with a single kettle of jelly. Now celebrating its 71st anniversary, the family-run destination has become a beloved Lancaster County landmark, drawing locals and tourists alike. Michelle Rodinelli, the third-generation owner of Kitchen Kettle, says it all began in August 1954 when her grandparents, Bob and Pat Burnley, took a leap of faith. “They purchased a business from a lady in Mechanicsburg,” she explained. “We bought a few of her recipes, some of her kettles, her green truck. My grandfather came home and said to my grandmother, who just had her third child, ‘I just bought a jelly business, and I’m going to need you to take the day-to-day operations.’” Rodinelli says her grandfather was the visionary behind the endeavor, while her grandmother focused on the daily details. “Tourism was starting to become a thing. People were curious about our area, the food, and the Amish culture. The timing was just really good,” she said. “But it also took a few key partners in the community to say, yeah, let’s see if we can build a tourism community.” What began as a modest jelly-making operation in the family garage has since evolved into a full-fledged village featuring around 35 shops, restaurants, and lodging spaces. But jelly remains at the heart of it all. “I don’t know that jelly would’ve been the thing I picked to be our anchor store, but it has been for 71 years,” Rodinelli laughed. “It really was my grandmother cooking over the stovetop with some local ladies... and it just kind of grew from that. We now make 100 different products.”Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Dracula's Brunch Club is coming to booksellers and hopefully local comics shops this month, so writer/co-creator Brian Gonsar joins Wayne to discuss this highly anticipated middle-aged reader graphic novel, Brian's very first, this week in Episode #704. Brian is an award-winning producer of feature films, music videos, art installations, and even a Super Bowl commercial! He's also a self-proclaimed donut aficionado who has travel the world to find the best donut. Dracula's Brunch Club is described this way: “Have you ever wondered how vampires got their taste for blood? In Dracula's Brunch Club, it all started with a crimson-red donut, dripping and oozing with spooky secrets—I mean, jelly. Dripping and oozing with non-spooky-tasting JELLY. Get ready to sink your fangs into the hilarious new graphic novel from debut author Brian Gonsar.” We discuss how Brian embarked on his comics career as well as how he found his artist/co-creator Keenan Gaybba, who the various characters are, and what we can expect from Brian in the months ahead! There are just so many lovely thoughts about this episode. We were so excited to rewatch and discuss these scenes. There is a lot to unpack as we watch Belly's grief, Jelly trying to stand their ground and gain support for their decision and of course, Conrad coming in with the biggest sacrifice/romantic gesture I think we've seen to date. It hits us in the feels and this episode is the true return to Cousins and the rollercoaster with heart that we've come to love about the series.
Gin & Tonic. Salt & Pepper. Fish & Chips. Done & Dusted. Bread & Butter. Sonny & Cher. Earth Wind & Fire. Lock Stock & Barrel. Signed Sealed & Delivered. All of these examples are what are called Irreversible Binomials & Trinomials. The cute phrases or names that ALWAYS appear in the same order. That sound really stupid if switched–”Jelly and peanut butter anyone?” Jon and Kurt, feeling this is truly excellent smart drivel, delve into the world of irreversible binomials and trinomials. Some they think have it wrong, others they agree are culturally accepted, while still others just seem right to our co-hosts. Yet, as always, they also disagree on a few. Ladies and gentlemen there is no rhyme or reason why you shouldn't listen to this episode hook, line, and sinker. Rock and roll….

Amrit Tietz is an international DJ and co-founder of the modern motherhood platform Spread the Jelly. Although she initially set out to study economics, Tietz dropped out of college, unbeknownst to her parents, to pursue a path she was more passionate about: music. She auditioned multiple times for the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, a music conservatory, before being accepted into the musical theater program. During her time there, she collected jazz units and switched to a music performance degree while also learning how to DJ on the side. Tietz moved to New York City after graduating and worked various jobs—from waitressing to retail—while taking DJ gigs to build her network. She eventually landed a full-time role at Starworks Agency, advancing from executive assistant to director of talent and engagement. After nearly six years at the ad agency, Tietz decided to take her DJing career full-time, successfully leaping from managing talent to becoming the talent herself. She has since toured globally, performed for iconic names like Dior and Vogue, and had her original music featured in HBO and Apple TV+ productions. While Tietz continues to DJ—and did so even while seven months pregnant—she recently moved into a new space with Spread the Jelly, an independent online platform redefining the narrative around modern motherhood. She and her co-founder, Lauren Levinger, launched the platform as a space for mothers to tell their diverse stories more authentically, build community, and “embrace the sticky” parts of motherhood together. When Death of the Fox Brewing Company opened eight years ago, co-founder Chuck Garrity wanted to make sure its Clarksboro, New Jersey-based taproom stayed busy day and night. So to “maximize” Death of the Fox's taproom investment and utility, the company launched by also offering coffee service, Garrity shared during the first edition of the Brewbound Podcast's Learning Lounge: Taproom Tactics series. Offering coffee was part of a total beverage mindset that covered an overlap between beer drinkers and coffee connoisseurs, while adding a revenue stream in one of the strictest operating environments for craft brewery taprooms. “My goal was to always have an on-site coffee roastery,” Garrity explained. “So to be able to produce and roast the coffee in the same way that we produce fresh beer for the brewery. In the same respect, we're doing that with the coffee. To me it just made sense in terms of a business model.” Building an on-site roastery during the COVID-19 pandemic was “a game changer” for the business due to taproom shutdowns. It's now become the dominant portion of the brewery's business. “When we first opened, beer was about 75%, 80% of our sales,” he said. “Now, flash forward eight years later, coffee, in terms of the total company, is about 70% of our sales. Beer is about 20% to 25%.” Garrity added that the brewery's beer sales are still strong, and he's confident that “beer's not going anywhere.” But his philosophy is to “follow where the river takes you, don't fight against the current,” and Death of the Fox's customers were telling him that while they liked the combination of beer and coffee, they really loved the coffee. Listen for more from Garrity on Death of the Fox's mix, growing the coffee side of the business amid strict restrictions on beer and advice for adding an attractive coffee menu.
