Vincent Goodwill, along with Producer John, talks through the Lakers' close (and controversial) win over the Suns before discussing how the Bucks dominated the Knicks to advance in the NBA In-Season Tournament.00:00 - Welcome to the Good Word!00:40 - Lakers 106, Suns 10317:05 - Bucks 146, Knicks 12222:35 - Where's the defense?27:15 - NBA In-Season Tournament SemifinalsOn this episode of the Good Word podcast, Vincent Goodwill recaps the action from Tuesday night, starting with the controversial timeout call that helped the Los Angeles Lakers advance past the Phoenix Suns to the Semifinal round in Las Vegas. The Suns are probably the better regular season team, and Kevin Durant is probably the better player at this point in their careers, but LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are big and physical and that is a difficult thing to deal with in a playoff-like environment. Should they be the favorites to win it all? Kevin Durant seems to think so.Vince then discusses the Milwaukee Bucks, who put a beatdown on the New York Knicks and maybe sent a message to the rest of the league about where they should be ranked amongst the best teams. If their offense can be this good, and Giannis can be the 2nd or 3rd best offensive player, they are going to be a nightmare to face come playoff time.Vince and Producer John discuss, on the back of that game, why NBA defense is down so much this season and if it will bounce back soon. Vince then talks a little bit about the Pacers/Bucks game we'll see on Thursday, a game that should have plenty of offense and minimal defense, before praising the In-Season Tournament for getting the players to play hard.Check out the rest of the Yahoo Sports podcast family at https://apple.co/3zEuTQj or at Yahoo Sports PodcastsSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Martin Weiss and Mark Gunnels return for a huge week as The Heat, Bucks, Suns and Warriors all get out to a series lead. Are the Maverick's in trouble with the Suns? Dallas is in trouble unless the Mavericks adjust to Luka's ball dominance. Eastern Conference is down to Bucks and Heat as the Sixers are no threat without Embiid. The Heat haven't been threatened all playoffs and proximity to strip clubs is not helping Harden this time around. Bigger Bucks give the Celtics issues and Giannis gets a near-triple double without even blinking. Ja's big miss and is Media Draymond getting in the way of b-ball Draymond? After losing his bet with Martin, Mark reaches into the dreaded “Cap of Consequences” to perform a Jackson Mahomes Tik Tok dance.

EP 414 - Nets down 0-2, Memphis's epic comeback and Suns, Bucks in danger? by JC Jaccen
Another milestone as the podcast has reached the 250th episode plateau. Join me as I'll share all that the sports world has to offer. On deck: (3:42) The NBA playoffs have took a bit of a turn with the two representatives of last years' Finals teams. Suns G Devin Booker and Bucks F/G Khris Middleton will be out of the lineup for at least a couple of games in their first round series due to injury. Is there a chance of a first round upset with both of those guys out? I'll also cover the rest of the postseason landscape. Luka on the mend with a possible Game 3 start in Utah? Do the Nets have a chance to come back in their series with Boston? What about the Hawks? Is Memphis back on track to take a lead vs. Minnesota? (21:47) Villanova Wildcats basketball coach Jay Wright, surprisingly retires from coaching as he passes the torch to former assistant Kyle Neptune. Will the university skip a beat with Wright no longer on the sideline? (24:57) The NHL is a little more than a week away from concluding their regular season. There isn't much drama going on, but you have a couple of races in each conference that could determine seeding (in the East with Tampa/Boston and Pittsburgh/Washington) or possibly elimination (Dallas, Nashville, Vegas, Vancouver) as I'll dissect and monitor as to who may make it? And who may not? (33:04) MLB is two weeks into their season. Over the past few days, we had Freddie Freeman facing his former team (same for Braves Kenley Jansen). Max Scherzer's fast start as he's 3-0. The woes of Gerrit Cole as his start has been the opposite of the Mets starter, but it was Aaron Boone's comments on his struggling ace that had me aggravated! The impressive debut of Reds P Hunter Greene. The unveiling of Tom Seaver's statue at Citi Field. And the coverage of Apple TV as they'll be streaming games throughout the year. Is it anything to write home about? (40:10) The wide receivers in the NFL have made a ton of money this offseason (i.e. Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill and Devante Adams) but there are two in the league that are taking different approaches to getting their big payday. 49ers Deebo Samuel is requesting a trade and Rams Cooper Kupp wants a fair deal for him and the team. How will these scenarios play out? And what are the Browns doing with Baker Mayfield? Why are they taking their time in trading their former quarterback? (46:45) The All England Club at Wimbledon made a staunch decision to not let any Russian or Belarusian players participate in their tournament come late June. Which means, one of the top ranked men's players in the world (Daniil Medvedev) will not be a part of the festivities. Was this a rash decision? Could they have waited it out? Could you blame them? Najee & Justice are back and this episode is bound to stir up some controversy and conversation.... The guys each created a NBA Top-50 Tier List and so they dive in and compare each and every player and perhaps convince one another to move them higher/lower. Naj & Jay touch on some pretty interesting player debates: Kyrie Irving vs. Trae Young & Klay Thompson Bradley Beal vs. Zach LaVine Jayson Tatum vs. Paul George & so so so many more, like literally, 100 more Then, they dive into their NBA Finals predictions, talk who they've got winning the series and why, who will be their Finals MVP and get into a little bit of what they saw in Game 1. Lastly, CP3's legacy comes up and both Naj & Jay talk about where they've got him ranked all-time right now and how that'll change if he does finally win his first NBA Championship.
