It's just the two of them this week — Harp's off in San Antonio, so Robert Horry and Rob Jenners are running the show solo, old-school style. No Shoot Around this Friday either, so they're packing everything into one episode. They start with the good stuff: the NBA dropped a taste of the schedule, and the Christmas Day slate is loaded — Spurs-Knicks, Heat-Celtics, Sixers-Lakers (hello LeBron revenge tour), Thunder-Wolves, and Nuggets-Warriors closing it out. Bob and Rob debate whether Denver deserved the marquee spot over Dallas, and that turns into a bigger conversation about how much longer Jokic and Steph stick around their current teams — and why neither of them should ever, ever run for office. From there it's opening week previews, a Pistons discussion that gets real about the Jalen Duren contract standoff, and Bob's old war stories about guys faking injuries to force a new deal. Then the Kawhi Leonard stuff. Another secret endorsement deal surfaced this week — this time with Daktronics — and the guys walk through it, plus the resurfaced details from the Lakers' 2019 free agency pitch that the league is now investigating. They get into whether the Clippers star actually suits up this season and what it means if the NBA lets this slide. Also on deck: Dillon Brooks cashing in with a $73 million extension from the Spurs, Wemby flying the whole Spurs roster to Paris for a mini training camp, and Robert's take on a young guy trying to "lead" without doing anything out of the ordinary. VJ Edgecombe getting FaceTimed by LeBron leads Bob into one of his own stories from his playing days, and then Scottie Pippen's blunt comments about Zion Williamson's discipline get the full breakdown — including Bob's offer to personally get Zion in shape. They pay respects to the late, great Don Nelson, run back Adam Vinatieri's surprisingly filthy Hall of Fame speech, and there's a QVC clip that has to be heard to be believed. Big Shot of the Week goes to a Virginia man who donated a kidney to a stranger and wore his Santa hat into surgery to do it. And to close it out — since it's just the two of them — they finally play 82 and 0 on the show for the first time, drafting all-time rosters and trying (and mostly failing) to go undefeated. 00:00 Kickoff: Just Rob and Rob This Week 01:34 Christmas Day Slate Revealed 02:34 Jokic, Steph and the Nuggets-Warriors Debate 07:05 NBA Opening Week Schedule 08:04 Pistons Outlook and the Jalen Duren Standoff 10:34 Old-School Contract Holdout Stories 12:34 Setting Up 82 and 0 14:11 Kawhi's Latest Secret Endorsement Deal 15:34 The 2019 Clippers Free Agency Allegations 20:34 Will Kawhi Suit Up This Season? 22:34 Dillon Brooks Cashes In 24:34 Wemby's Paris Minicamp 27:05 VJ Edgecombe's LeBron FaceTime Story 29:34 Scottie Pippen Sounds Off on Zion 37:34 Remembering Don Nelson 39:30 Vinatieri's Hall of Fame Roast 40:55 QVC Wig Clip of the Week 42:32 Big Shot of the Week: Dave Bell 43:36 Playing 82 and 0 53:03 TV Talk and Sign-Off

In this episode, I break down the latest updates, what the new allegations could mean for Rozier, and where the investigation could go from here.I also discuss the Phoenix Suns locking up Dillon Brooks with a three-year contract extension. After the best season of his career, Brooks has become a key piece of the Suns' identity. I examine why Phoenix made this commitment, what Brooks brings to the roster, and how the extension impacts the team's future.

0:00 ... Ross hello, welcome, and introduces the panel 0:32 ... Show #260 is dedicated to Hall of Famer Michael Cooper who was drafted with the #60 overall pick in the 1978 NBA Draft. 1:24 ... LeBron James is now a member of the 76ers and World B feels the upcoming season will feature a wide open and competitive eastern conference. There are 11 legit playoff contenders for just 8 spots. 3:44 ... Bruce feels like LeBron made the move to Philly in a desperate attempt to win 2 more rings and tie Michael Jordan with 6 championships and convince people that HE, not MJ is the GOAT. Bruce feels that Sixers games will be "Must Watch" TV. 5:24 ... Depth and health could be issues for Philly. Ross also feels that many more coaches will be on the hot seat with so many solid teams competing for just 8 playoff spots. 6:22 ... Bruce feels that the Jalen Duren contract impasse in Detroit could have a lingering effect that might affect the morale of the team if Duren's teammates feel he is being mistreated by Pistons management. 7:22 ... What's the deal with the Orlando Magic? Is their window closed as far as being elite in the east? They still have talent, but their offense is still sub-standard. Bruce feels that the team will be in the mix for the Play In tournament but he does not have a great feeling about this team. 12:31 ... Jalen Brown is no longer a Celtic, so who is going to step up? From a leadership standpoint, it has to be Jayson Tatum, but others like Derrick White, Hugo Gonzalez, and Baylor Scheierman need to all have solid seasons for Boston to challenge for the top 6 in the east. 14:43 ... World B agrees with Bruce that Derrick White needs to step up. 15:57 ... Ross asks Bruce if Tatum is capable of being a "fiery" leader and Bruce doesn't really know if Jayson is capable of adjusting his personality and mindset from his "too cool" exterior to someone who shows more emotion. 17:45 ... Atlanta has added Lu Dort and Ross wonders if Dort can bring the type of toughness to the Hawks that a guy like Dillon Brooks brought to the Suns? World B loves Dort's perimeter defense and his presence gives the Hawks much better depth. World B also feels Jalen Johnson has to continue his progress for the Hawks to excel. Bruce thinks Dort is exactly the type of gritty veteran Atlanta needs and their fans will love. Ross loves the move and thinks Dort's physicality will really improve the Hawks' defense. 22:17 ... The Portland Trailblazers have a new owner (Tom Dundon) and he has made some really unsettling moves since taking over the franchise. There are rumors that the Blazers, who are battling with local Portland politicians over arena funding and other financial issues could end up leaving the city. That would be devastating to the city of Portland and would give the city a real black eye. 24:14 ... Ross is very angry about the way that Dundon has treated their broadcasters like Kevin Calabro and Tom Haberstroh because he watched a lot of Blazers games and really enjoyed their telecasts. 25:32 ... World B feels Dundon has been an embarassment and cites the bad contract he gave new head coach Micah Nori as a really poor way to treat their new coach. 27:37 ... Bruce feels for the Portland fans, who are among the best in the NBA and since the Blazers are Portland's only major league team, their fans would be devastated if the team flatlines and eventually leaves town. 29:05 ... If you were a fan, would you rather be a Warriors or Clippers fan? Bruce would rather be a 'Dubs fan but Ross and World B would rather be Clippers fans. Everyone explains why they feel the way they do. LA owner Steve Ballmer is the main reason that Ross and World B prefer the Clippers. 33:09 ... Will DeAaron Fox be on the Spurs the entire season? Bruce feels he will because of his contract, which calls for him to be paid more than $222 million over the next 4 seasons. It's such a bad contract that it's hard to see any team taking it on. 37:04 ... It's time for the always enjoyable "Card Challenge" segment where Ross picks random cards and asks Bruce and World B to react to the players spontaneously to prove their knowledge. Jalen Duren of the Pistons is first for World B. 38:19 ... Next up is Klay Thompson of the Mavericks for Bruce 39:25 ... Kyrie Irving of Dallas is next for World B. 40:20 ... Tyler Herro for Bruce 40:57 ... Carmelo Anthony for World B. 42:29 ... Bruce Bowen for Bruce .... they'll be together on Wednesday at the Basketball Hall of Fame for a "HoopHall hangout" session with the fans. 44:17 ... Ross wraps the show and says goodbye TRT 44:30 Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

0:00 - The Avalanche caught whatever's plaguing the Nuggets. They lack any sort of fight and mental fortitude. They had a 3-0 lead over Vegas last night, and after Vegas scored that first goal, it seems like the tires completely popped off the Colorado Wagon. It's like the Avs just rolled over and gave up. Where's the fight? Where's the grit?16:16 - This wasn't supposed to happen to the Avs. They weren't supposed to be completely outgunned in the damn Western Conference Final. Chris MacFarland has made moves on moves on moves and reshuffled the deck so many times to put them in a position to succeed. This felt like their year. And yet, the season is all but finished. What does it come down to? Coaching? Roster deficiencies? Or have the Avs big guns failed to step up when they're needed the most?34:06 - Oh, by the way...the Enhanced Games took place this weekend. They're like the Olympics, but you're allowed to use any "banned" substance you want. Any sort of hormone, steroid, whatever, you name it, it's legal.Oh, by the way...Justin Simmons just retired from the NFL and hit a hole in one this weekend. Come on, man. That's not fair. How have lifetime golfers like Moser and Vic not hit one yet, but Justin Simmons gets one immediately? Not fair.Oh, by the way...Dillon Brooks teamed up with Underdog to create a board game about SGA called "Unethical Hoops." It's a parody of Operation. I kid you not. It's real and it's spectacular.

It's Friday, which means it's time for the bonus show. Episode 133 of Shoot Around kicks off with some genuinely surprising news — Alperen Sengun was voted the NBA's most overrated player by his own peers in The Athletic's annual poll. Seven-time champion Robert Horry weighs in on whether that reputation is fair, what Jeff Teague said about swag, and which players would actually top the overrated list if the guys had a vote. Then it's straight into the Kevin Hart Roast — specifically the clips of Draymond Green catching shots from Tom Brady, Shane Gillis, Jeff Ross, and The Rock. The guys break down the best lines of the night and give Draymond his flowers for actually holding his own on the mic. After that, a legendary clip courtesy of a listener: Vernon Maxwell on All The Smoke telling the full story of Hakeem Olajuwon slapping him in the locker room at halftime. Robert Horry was there for the Rockets at the time, so yeah — this one gets personal. And then things take a turn. A Frontier Airlines plane struck a pedestrian who'd somehow made it onto the runway at Denver International Airport — and the guys react to the cockpit audio. From there, the show ends on a high note: the story of Jessica Holloway, the Tampa mom who set up a folding table at a U8 girls soccer game and started selling homemade wine to the other parents out of an Igloo cooler. Her menu included "Referee Tears" at $15 a jar. She was arrested. The guys are outraged on her behalf.
