The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets hosted the Pitt Panthers Thursday night in the home finale and what turned out to be the regular-season finale. The Jackets were on the losing end as we were unable to find an answer to Pitt's running game and were not able to mount a rushing attack of our own. This was made worse by some very one-sided officiating, and I sensed some bad vibes in the following 24 hours. I also take a look at this weekend's Power 5 conference championships and various playoff scenarios.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets went to Raleigh, NC this past weekend and fell in a hard-fought game to the N.C. State Wolfpack, 23-13. The performance was a bit of a mixed bag, but the Jackets' ground game continued to shine despite missing star freshman Jahmyr Gibbs. On the other side of the ball, the defense held the second consecutive opponent to less than 100 yards rushing. And finally, we are able to kick for points, making an extra point and both field goals we attempted!

A win was not reasonably expected but I was pleased that we played better and did commit as many mental and fundamental errors as we did against Syracuse and Boston College. We still have a significant gap to close with elite programs like Notre Dame but that will take understandably time.
