Carl and Mike come back with some more Falcons talk and react to another cut as it was reported C.J. Henderson was released by the team as they continue with roster cuts. As they discuss, they agree it was going to be an uphill battle for Henderson as he was behind the eight ball as he was brought into camp late. They then get into a conversation and share thoughts on which team out of Georgia Tech, Georgia and the Falcons have the most to prove this season, with Mike believing the Yellow Jackets have to 'make the big leap', while Carl believes Falcons seven year playoff drought makes them the team with the most to prove.

Late summer brings not just honey harvests but also the return of yellow jackets. For many beekeepers, their sudden appearance can spark concern—or outright dread—around the bee yard. In this episode, Jeff and Becky sit down with Dr. Richard Zack, professor of entomology at Washington State University, to unpack the truth about these misunderstood wasps. Rich shares fascinating insights into yellow jacket biology, their annual colony cycle, and why they turn up at apiaries during nectar dearth. He explains the differences between yellow jackets, wasps, hornets, and honey bees, and why their carnivorous diets can actually make them beneficial predators in many ecosystems. The conversation covers practical tips for beekeepers, including seasonal control strategies, entrance reduction, and why strong honey bee colonies can easily fend off these opportunistic scavengers. By the end, you may look at yellow jackets a little differently—as part of the natural balance rather than the enemy of your hives. Kelly Quinlan, the Publisher for the Rivals/On3Sports site, JacketsOnline joins Will and Jim for an ACC Nation football preview of Georgia Tech. It looks and feels like a very good year for the Ramblin' Wreck faithful and you'll find out why in this podcast. Quinlan goes thumbs up/thumbs down on the Yellow Jackets schedule and if the offensive firepower and reconfigured defense deliver it may well become 'Hot 'Lanta' on Saturdays at Bobby Dodd again. It's a schedule that could put the team into the midst of the Top 25 early in the season. Georgia Tech Will and Kelly explore the depth and add-ons on offense and defense that have so many excited about the trend this team has been on the last few years. The offense is staggeringly loaded with the return of QB Haynes King, RB Jamal Haynes and WR Malik Rutherford among others. Quinlan reminds us all that head coach Brent Key has finally had the time to recruit 'his' team. Success this season will further add spice to this sauce. Send us a textTracy stops by the show to discuss her latest release, Sky Too Wide. We talk about people pleasing, connect over a Helen Reddy song, 'You and Me Against the World', her reimagined song 'Jumping Bean', and so much more.*****Tracy Bonham is a classically trained violinist and pianist turned alternative singer-songwriter who rose to fame in 1996 with her twice GRAMMYTM nominated album, The Burdens of Being Upright (Island Records). This debut album cast Bonham into the global spotlight with MTV fame and major radio airplay with her #1 alternative chart-topping song Mother Mother, an anthem for disgruntled teenagers of all ages. While so many of her songs have been placed in film and tv throughout the decades, you might have most recently heard Mother Mother in Yellow Jackets season 1 episode 2.Over the past 27 years, Bonham's albums and live performances have shown what it is to be an ever- evolving artist. While Bonham sings, she moves from guitar to violin, from violin to piano, and back again. When playing live, her songs from the 90s blend and blur with stylistic changes that she has created over time making her entire repertoire make sense as an entire body of work. She plays the old and new material and even though the songs span thirty years they all continue to be equally relevant.Bonham will be joined by upright bassist Rene Hart (David Amram, James Hunter) and drummer Alvester Garnett (Regina Carter, Abbey Lincoln) and with her new material she connects to something deeper than ever, her true self. Most of the new songs are performed on the piano giving her the chance to lean back to what made her fall in love with music in the first place. Borrowing harmonic structures and beautiful melodies from her favorite classical romantic composers, Bonham stretches herself artistically to combine this rediscovered passion with her unique and quirky songwriting style to create musical alchemy. This purifying process most certainly acts as a vehicle for inner transformation for Bonham. "It's like going back to the spark I had as a very young musician, discovering the beauty of Ravel and DeBussy and reclaiming that spark and everything that has happened after that". Bonham speaks of her current line-up, "Playing with incredible jazz musicians like Rene and Alvester has opened my mind and is now giving me the support I have always needed to spread my wings and fly. I am really enjoying exploring the intersections and overlaps of where classical and jazz meet without excluding my alternative rock sensibilities. These dudes can rock too. The three of us playing together is definitely my happy place".******If you would like to contact the show about being a guest, please email us at Dauna@bettertopodcast.comUpcoming guests can be found: https://dmneedom.com/upcoming-guest Follow us on Social MediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomIntro and Outro music compliments of Fast Suzi©2025 Better To...Podcast with D. On this week's show we rank our favorite Streaming Services. We also read your emails and take a look at the week's news. News: More than 25% of viewers aren't watching live TV anymore Tubi breaks the 100 million monthly active user mark Netflix to Introduce Live TV Channels in France NCIS: Tony & Ziva Sets September Premiere Date on Paramount+ Other: Panasonic DVD Recorders on ebay Panasonic DMR-EH75VS DVD recorder with 80GB hard drive and HiFi VCR, plus DVD video upconversion at Crutchfield The 10 Best DVD Recorders of 2025 (Reviews) - FindThisBest "It's Official: Streaming Is Now the King of TV The Definitive Streaming Service Ranking We received an email from a listener named Scott that pointed us to an article titled ”The Definitive Streaming Service Ranking” written by Josh Rosenberg and published in Esquire magazine. In the article he ranks the top seven streaming services. We'll go through his picks from seven to one. And then we'll give our rankings. 7 Amazon Prime Video - The main criterion for ranking streaming services is whether they offer at least one new, worthwhile show each month. Prime Video falls short, as it doesn't consistently deliver high-quality new TV content. Instead, it focuses on being a hub for accessing other subscriptions, with shows like Reacher, Fallout, and The Boys feeling like bonuses for Amazon Prime's free shipping rather than a compelling reason to subscribe for streaming alone. 6 Peacock - Peacock is a top choice for reality-TV fans, offering Bravo's full lineup, including Real Housewives, Love Island USA, Below Deck, Top Chef, and Watch What Happens Live. It also hosts NBC's library with classics like The Office, Parks & Recreation, New Girl, Scrubs, and Law & Order, plus Yellowstone due to an exclusive deal. Its appeal lies in its sitcom and reality-TV vault, and it's the streaming home for the Olympics, though that's only every two years. Fans might find it worth a high price, though it's currently much less than $100 a month. 5 Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ - The Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle is perceived as a single streaming service due to its long-standing integration, with Disney enhancing this by adding Hulu and ESPN+ tiles to the Disney+ home screen for seamless access. Each service offers unique strengths: Disney+ excels in Marvel, Star Wars, and children's content; Hulu features FX shows like The Bear and Shōgun, plus ABC's lineup, including Abbott Elementary; and ESPN+ remains a leader in live sports despite growing competition. Their combined appeal keeps them competitive, as they are stronger together than individually. 4 Netflix - Netflix benefits from long-term subscriber relationships, with users browsing its platform like they once did with cable TV. However, its content quality is declining, with more misses than hits. The upcoming conclusion of major shows like Squid Game and Stranger Things in 2025 could further challenge its ability to retain subscribers. 3 Paramount+ - Paramount+ benefits from Taylor Sheridan's popular shows like Yellowstone, Landman, and 1923, and its merger with Showtime has brought quality series such as MobLand and Yellowjackets. However, the streaming service struggles to justify its subscription cost as essential, with its success hinging on the delivery of Sheridan's planned spin-off universe. 2 Apple TV+ - Apple TV+ has significantly improved its content in 2025, with successful shows like Severance season 2, The Studio (Seth Rogen), Your Friends and Neighbors (Jon Hamm), and Stick (Owen Wilson). Previously, subscribing only for specific shows was advisable, but now, due to consistent high-quality releases with A-list talent, keeping the subscription active is recommended. If this trend continues, Apple TV+ will remain a strong competitor in the streaming market. 1 HBO Max - HBO tops the power ranking due to its consistent delivery of high-quality TV shows that justify the subscription cost. With a business model focused on quality since its launch over 50 years ago, HBO has aired acclaimed series like The Pitt, The White Lotus, The Last of Us, The Rehearsal, and Hacks in the first half of 2025. Its extensive library includes some of the greatest shows and movies, such as Goodfellas. While Netflix prioritizes quantity, HBO Max excels in quality.
