It was a first quarter to forget for Florida State, who had just -7 total yards and a single drive over the first 15 minutes. But there are four of them in a football game and in the end, FSU managed to take care of business, covering the spread and beating the Florida Gators 24-15 to finish the regular season perfect. The second quarter didn't start off any better, as Florida was able to ride third down conversion after third down conversion to take a 10-0 lead (its first touchdown coming after an extremely questionable unnecessary roughness call), making up for lost points on a missed field goal by taking down Tate Rodemaker for a safety. Anchored down by penalties and poor field position, FSU failed to find any offensive momentum until its final drive of the second quarter — a 10-play, 90-yard drive that saw the Seminoles earn their first points of the game. Florida State, starting off with the ball in the third quarter, took its first lead of the game after Trey Benson ripped off a 36-yard rush. Florida would immediately drive down the field and retake the lead off a field goal, making things 15-14. That score would hold until midway through the fourth when, after two teams traded off pairs of punts, FSU took advantage of a major punt return from Keon Coleman and a big fourth down catch from Ja'Khi Douglas to end up in goal-to-go distance. The Seminoles were unable to punch it in, however, and settled for a 19-yard field goal to go up 17-15. FSU's defense stepped up on the Gators' next drive, forcing a third straight three-and-out to get the Seminoles the ball back with 5:37 on the clock. Facing third and 17 from the Florida State 42-yard line, Rodemaker took off to try and convert and, while sliding, was hit in the helmet by two separate Gators and forced to leave the game. True freshman Brock Glenn was forced into action with 3:44 in the game, tasked with preserving the Seminoles' lead. The result? Another ridiculous, grown man run from Benson — this time, a 26-yarder to push Florida State's lead to 24-15 with 2:48 to go. With its final chance at closing the gap, Florida was unable to get anything going as Jared Verse snagged two sacks to force a fourth and 20, where Kalen DeLoach picked off Brown to solidify the win. I said it!) of who'll make the Super Bowl in the middle of February and who will not. I'll break down some of what took place yesterday, especially the comments Steelers RB Najee Harris admitting to the press as his offense put up another stinker, which I'm sure all fans, including yours truly, share the same sentiment. Why I'm not sold on the Cleveland Browns? I'll take a peek at the Thanksgiving Day schedule, the Black Friday matchup (MIA-NYJ) and the Sunday slate as we close out the schedule for the month of November. (39:51) College football is coming down to the regular season wire. We have an interesting development where the Washington Huskies catapulted themselves into the top four, knocking down the Florida State Seminoles to number five. They suffered a huge loss as QB, Jordan Travis left the game with a leg injury that may have him sidelined for the rest of the season. Can they still get back into the Final Four when it's all said and done? I'll get into a huge weekend on the schedule, the permutations of potential craziness of certain teams losing and where they stand in the playoff mix as the regular season concludes this coming Saturday. (47:13) MLB is preparing their hot stove and they'll have plenty to cook in the coming days. The Atlanta Braves have been wheeling and dealing so far with some small trades. One of the bigger free agents is off the books as Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola stays in Philadelphia, signing a seven year, $172 million dollar contract. Is he worth that type of money? Speaking of money, a ton is going to be thrown the way of Japanese pitcher, Yoshinobu Yamamoto as negotiations can begin as early as tomorrow. Where does he end up? (52:56) The Association has been low key over the past few days. I'll discuss a few injuries (i.e. Bradley Beal, Marcus Smart) some teams playing well. (i.e. Orlando, OKC) A 180 with the Western Conference standings. (56:34) Same could be said for what's happening on the ice as it has been quiet. A star player returns to the lineup (i.e. Devils Jack Hughes), a star player may not see an extended period on the sidelines (i.e. Panthers Aleksander Barkov), a tough guy taking time away from the team because of personal issues (i.e. Bruins Milan Lucic). Following BC, a look into the Clemson Tigers, who FSU will not play in the regular season. The past several season, Clemson has been atop the conference, vying for the top spot. Gwyn talks about how the program will fare as they are looking to make a push for OKC. Another program that is looking to stay at the top of the ACC is Duke, who has a steady group of returners. An experienced Duke team, who finished in the Durham Super Regional, also look to make their first trip to Oklahoma City for the first time in program history. Georgia Tech loses some key players, but returns staples in the circle. In terms of offense, they will have to look to transfers and underclassmen to help them make that push into the NCAA Tournament. Last season, they ended 2023 in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals and will need the help of Blake Neleman and an improved offense to get them back into the postseason. Similar to GT, Louisville also saw key departures, but reloads from the transfer portal. A six person transfer class, all with Division I experience, as well as Power 5, will help the Cardinals get into the top tier of the conference, and push teams like FSU, Clemson and Duke. The College Football Playoff Committee tipped its hand by dropping the Ohio State Buckeyes from number one to number two this week. It only wants one Big 10 team in the four team playoff and the winner of the Ohio State Buckeyes vs Michigan Wolverines game is going to get that spot.  A topped ranked team can suffer a loss and fall in the rankings but remain ranked in the top 4. Teams 2-4 don't have that luxury and the committee knows that.    They know if they put two Big 10 teams in (like last year!) in addition to the Georgia Bulldogs, then they will have to labor over who gets the last remaining spot. And the Florida State Seminoles, Washington Huskies, Oregon Ducks, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Texas Longhorns each have a legitimate claim to that spot.  In other news, one Big 10 team is making a quarterback change we don't agree with. The Iowa Hawkeyes can clinch a spot in the Big 10 Championship game with a win this week vs the Illinois Fighting Illini and we look at statistics thus far in the Big 10.  Finally, we look ahead to this weekend's schedule on the Big 10 Network with Big 10 Classics and LIVE football! It's all on Locked on Big 10 with Craig Shemon.  Connect on Twitter:  https://twitter.com/talkbig10  Website: https://talkbig10.com     Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Florida State softball is coming off of another dominating season, finishing as the national runners up and capturing both the ACC regular season and tournament titles. The Florida State Seminoles extended their overall winning streak to 16 games with a 27-20 victory over the Miami Hurricanes. It was their third consecutive win over the Canes. The return of wide receivers Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson was a welcome sight for the Noles as Wilson led the team in receptions and receiving yards while Coleman made nice plays on punt return and caught Travis' lone touchdown. RB Trey Benson added two touchdowns of his own as well. The Noles defense also impressive against the Canes' freshman QB outside of the one big play bad angle in the second half that resulted in a Miami touchdown.
