The guys from Dawgman.com -Ā Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott EklundĀ - were out on the east field next to Husky Stadium on another glorious Chamber-of-Commerce day in Seattle, this time for Day 11 of Washington's spring football campaign. What did they see? Did they see the offense take some steps toward evening things up in their never-ending battle with the defense? Some of the things that were scripted for practice, like red zone and goal-line situations, should favor the offense, and they were able to take advantage of some things. WithĀ Rashid WilliamsĀ not participating today, it was time for other receivers to step up and be heard. And a couple of them made their return to some team periods, namelyĀ Penn StateĀ transferĀ Omari EvansĀ and true freshmanĀ Raiden Vines-Bright. On defense, it wasĀ ArizonaĀ transfer CBĀ Tacario DavisĀ that made his triumphant return to the team periods. The guys talk about their returns and how successful they were in quickly getting back into the swing of things. Scott also provided his take on the biggest news of the day, the flip of top 2026 OLĀ Kodi GreeneĀ fromĀ OregonĀ to Washington. Was it expected? Will the former Eastside Catholic lineman stay committed all the way to Signing Day in December? And will his commitment spur on a number of other players to commit toĀ Washington, especially knowing the Huskies have a host of official visitors coming in this weekend? In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio talking about USC's big 2025 Signing Day press conference where they heard from head coach Lincoln Riley and all of the new coaching and personnel staff members. The Trojans have added some impressive talents and personalities that should help this program get to the next level. Both Ryan and Connor were very optimistic about the new hires after the press conference, with assistant head coach for defense and linebackers coach Rob Ryan standing out for his outgoing personality and exceptional story telling. They were also impressed with Chad Savage as tight ends and inside receivers coach and Trovon Reed as the new cornerbacks coach, both young coaches are exceptional on the recruiting trail and should help the Trojans tremendously. It does appear that USC will be losing one staff member with assistant linebackers coach Bryson Allen-Williams heading to Georgia according to a 247Sports report. On the personnel side, Chad Bowden coming over from Notre Dame is looking like a homerun hire. He is filling out his staff, with the latest edition being Wisconsin general manager Max Stienecker who will join the previously announced Zaire Turner hired as the new assistant AD of recruiting Operations and Dre Brown as the executive director of scouting and personnel. The guys also talk about the two new additions to the roster, with USC announcing the signing of Jadyn Ramos, a defensive end from Conroe (Texas) and AJ Tuitele, a linebacker from Mojave (Nev.). Ohio State landed in what appears to be a very favorable No. 6 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, which were released Tuesday night. The Buckeyes will likely drop a spot or two in the final rankings, but they appear to be a lock to host a first-round playoff game. Also, is this the weirdest signing day ever? College football managed to shoehorn in a signing day on Dec. 4, which is one of the strangest decisions we can remember. We'll keep saying this until we're blue in the face: the early signing period should be the final week of July, right before training camp begins. The good news is this means the media will get a chance to speak with OSU head coach Ryan Day today. It is the signing day press conference, but of course many questions will be asked about the Buckeyes' offensive and special teams debacle in their loss to Michigan last Saturday. Dave Biddle and Steve Helwagen delve into all of that and more on the Wednesday 5ish.
