Mitch Harper and Matt Baiamonte talk about the chances that BYU will add another game to the schedule. Matt says ideally, they could add a Pac-12 team with the number of cancellations they've had so far. Mitch isn't confident that the Cougars will be able to add a game, considering the struggles they've had adding quality opponents to the schedule this season. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
KSL TV's Dave McCann joins Mitch and Matt to talk about the big win last night for BYU. McCann was impressed by QB Zach Wilson and the BYU offense, particularly in the 2nd half. He says that the Cougars are in a great spot for a NY6 bowl and even more. With this team healthy and experienced, he says Kalani Sitake has this team in the perfect position to succeed. In this episode of GoTigers247's Off the Boards, lead writer Christian Fowler speaks with Memphis quarterback Brady White – who announced earlier this month that he would be returning to the Bluff City for his final season. While back home in California for the holidays, White told GT247 that he spoke at-length with his family and those he trusts most to help him make the decision. At the end of the day, White said he felt like coming back was the best decision for him. After discussing his return, Fowler and White move on to talk about White's 2019-2020 season, Ryan Silverfield being hired as head coach and next season. Throughout the discussion, White recaps some of the biggest moments from last season, including College GameDay, winning the AAC Championship and competing in a New Year's Six Bowl. White takes Fowler through what it was like on the journey this season, and how he personally responded after the loss to Temple. Following the discussion of the magical 12-2 season, White talks about playing for Silverfield and how he is excited to see the train continue to roll. Next, the two start to look forward to next season. With Joey Magnifico, Antonio Gibson and Kedarian Jones all gone, White points out multiple players that he will be looking for to step up next season. No one knows the offensive weapons better than White, and he shares a few names that he believes could make a big impact next season. Finally, the two discuss White's importance on education and where he got his drive from. White already has a master's degree, and he is currently working on his doctorate degree, which is obviously extremely rare for a student-athlete. Learn more about your ad choices. In episode 56 of Tigers in 20, lead writer and host Christian Fowler and GoTigers247 founder Brooks Hansen discuss the latest in Memphis Tigers basketball and football. The duo begins by recapping their experience at the Cotton Bowl. Both Fowler and Hansen were in Dallas for the Cotton Bowl, and they discuss the spectacle of the event and how much it meant to the football program. Next, Fowler and Hansen go back through the football season and recap just how historical it was. The Tigers had 12 wins for the first time ever, won their first outright AAC Championship and went to their first New Year's Six Bowl. It was a season of firsts for the Memphis football program, and the GT247 duo explains what it all means for the future of the program. Following the football discussion, Fowler and Hansen move on to basketball. Memphis defeated Tulane by 11 points on Monday night to get their first AAC win of the season, and Fowler and Hansen talk about the Tigers slow start and how they turned it around fairly quickly. After talking about the game, they break down the state of the team moving forward. With Lester Quinones now back and the team at full strength, Fowler and Hansen take a deep dive on what this team could look like down the stretch. Finally, the duo gives their top players of the decade for both basketball and football. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
