THEY’RE TINY, THEY’RE TOONY, THEY’RE BACK FOR A REBOOT-Y! Babs, Buster Bunny and the rest of the Acme Acres gang are back and headed to college. HBO Max and Cartoon Network have handed a two-season, straight-to-series order for Tiny Toons Looniversity from Warner Bros. Animation, Amblin Television and returning executive producer Steven Spielberg. Tiny Toons Looniversity is one of several new series ordered by HBO MaxContinue reading "Tiny Toons Looniversity"
Julia and Geoffrey watch the first episode of Tiny Toons Adventures.Image description: Babs and Buster Bunny popping out of a rainbow ring with the words Tiny Toon Adventures. Here's Geoffrey's summary: TinyToonAdventures, if I remember correctly, was part of the "Kids shows with younger versions of the originals to make the kids like it more even though the characters were for kids shows to begin with so why is that necessary?" run of shows. This was more high-class though, because it had pedigree. It was sort of the bridge between traditional Looney Toonsand the Animaniacs. There were versions of each old-school character and they went to school and had adventures, and I don't remember much of what they did. Oh, and I felt very clever for figuring out that the human girl who was overly affectionate was the updated version of Hugo the Abominable Snowman."and Julia's:Babs and Buster Bunny are twins who live in Acme Acres with a cast of other small tooncharacters including a duck girl? Webigail??? And a human girl named Elmyra who wants to smother fuzzy things with too much affection. I remember feeling super cool for getting some of the references, and especially for already knowing They Might Be Giants before i saw this cartoon because I was a super nerd who listened to the album Lincoln a lot in like 5th grade...What were we wrong about? Several things. Babe and Buster? Not related! Webbigail? From Ducktales! Julia remembers loving this show as a kid, but as adults… we were both underwhelmed. What do you think? Did you love this? In this episode of Casual Chats, Patricia and special guests Chris a.k.a. RowdyC and James a.k.a. Jaimetud discuss about the 1992 direct to video animated TV movie based of the 1990 animated series Tiny Toon Adventures based on the 1990 animated series Tiny Toon Adventures. It's summer time at Acme Acres and all the characters are doing various activities during their break. Buster and Babs go on a river adventure meeting up with various characters, Plucky goes with Hampton and his family to Happy World Land, Fifi tries to have a famous actor named Johnny Pew autograph her photo of him, Elmyra tries to find a kitty to hug, and Fowler tries to get Shirley to go out with him on a date. How well does it hold up almost 30 years later? Listen and find out.
We're heading back to the world of Acme Acres to explore a proper episode of the early '90s classic cartoon, Tiny Toon Adventures! And if you listened to our episode of What A Cartoon Movie! about the direct-to-video feature, you'll know that Plucky Duck is by far our favorite character. That seemed to be the opinion of both Warner Bros. and Fox, because in 1992 he got his own cynical Saturday morning spinoff that consisted of mostly recycled content. But the single original episode produced for The Plucky Duck Show remains one of TTA's finest outings, and stands as a fascinating look into the Hollywood hubbub of 1991. So join us as we explore the hilarious and lavishly animated exploits of Tiny Toons' wacky, egomaniac-y duck!
