Tex Avery was the Warner Bros director that really shook up what it meant to be a WB cartoon short, and one of the ways in which he did that was an increasing focus on subverting expectations and breaking the 4th wall. He also introduced several characters to the Looney Tunes lineup, such as Egghead and Elmer Fudd. These two characters in particular have a strange history, one that's become so intertwined that modern depictions of Egghead reference Elmer Fudd's original design rather than his own. All that is fascinating, but the question remains... do the debut cartoons for these two characters still hold up so many decades later? Listen to find out!

Chrome-domed Pierre Potato-Trump making news , claiming by way of leak to The ‘Strayan newspaper … that the PM, Mr Albo-sneezy, has it wrong on new vehicle CO2 policy, which is apparently set to drive new car prices sky high without a good, old-fashioned Coalition watering-down.Elmer Fudd giveth; and Spuman taketh away. Thus restoring harmony to the universe, which he was put here to do, obviously. So, if you can believe anything in the ‘Strayan, Mr Potato-Trump, will retain Labor's New Vehicle Efficiency scheme, but without the fines for carmakers which overstep mandated CO2 limits. Those CO2 fines were supposed to kick in on July 1, but if Captain Potato-Trump moves into the lodge, we'll just get Emissions Wank Lite, which is kinda like skim milk, or a dominatrix without a riding crop. The core issue about Labor's New Bullshit Emissions Wank Scheme is that Labor says it'll drive down the cost of new cars, and the cost of operating them. And stop Australia being a dumping ground for filthy, polluting vehicles. Not that there's any evidence that any of this this is the case.If Chris Bowen says it, it's good enough for me, obviously. But Fritte-man disagrees, and (oddly) I'm with him on this one.It won't do either of those things. The most popular cars in the country will increase in price. Because we love our utes. Because carmakers will be fined for selling them to us. Because they will breach ever-tightening CO2 standards. Because carmakers will pass those costs - the fines / stealth ute tax - on to you and me.This is a fairly simple dot-joining sequence. Even an economist could do it.Labor's policy is nothing but a Greens-appeasing stealth tax on utes and 4x4s. Correction: another Greens-appeasing stealth tax. And also one of Labor's favourite tricks - social engineering. Divisive bastards. Telling you what car to buy … without actually telling you. What they're doing is making your dual-cab ute, or other 4x4 you want, more expensive, in the hope you'll buy some piece of shit whitegoods on wheels instead, hopefully with a dirty big lithium battery inside, instead of an engine.
We open the show as we often do on Friday's with a nod to Tara Bull's Top 10 News stories the Legacy/mainstream media did not cover this week, or, if they did, they didn't cover them well. We then jump into the Brett Baier interview with both Elon Musk and then the senior leadership of the DOGE team. While this administration is trying to remove fraud, waste, corruption, abuse and bureaucracy, Jon Stewart found himself aghast at the sheer number of hoops Democrats created in their bill to put broadband into every rural area of our country. Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) got schooled when joining CNBC's Squawk Box today. Seems Democrats don't like being called out for a lack of consistency. Radical domestic terrorists on the Left believe destroying property is an acceptable form of protest. According to one woman, they are just cars. Well, AG Pam Bondi wants everyone to know, there will be no plea deals. The DOJ is going to push for 20 year sentences. Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) is still on his comedy tour and we hope he keeps it up. He wants his party to know the reason they lost is they did not go WOKE enough. He also says we need a shadow government to push everything through without having to deal with opposition. Finally, to show another difference between Trump 45 and Trump 47, we learn Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) is going to have her name withdrawn to be the UN Ambassador. She not only understands it, she supports it. Please take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. 1/26/2025 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 Then Cometh The End Intro: Everything must end. Life comes to an end. Ball games come to an end. Christmas comes to an end. 2024 came to an end. Even God's creation of earth must end….in order to be recreated. The butterfly was once a caterpillar. The caterpillar ended so that the butterfly could begin. I remember a Buggs Bunny cartoon. The cartoon was about an attaché case with a top secret inside. The whole cartoon was about Elmer Fudd and Buggs Bunny each trying to steal the case from each other and find the secret it contained. Finally, after fighting each other they agree to open it together……When they see what is inside they say “this is horrible, awful, the worst thing that could ever happen!” what was inside?….simply the words…..”the End!” Then the credits rolled. That was a brilliant cartoon by the creators of Buggs Bunny! The end is coming of all we know and experience. It can be awful, terrible and horrible…..or it can be unimaginable joy!

This week's case covers a bunch of dummies looking to put on their best Elmer Fudd impression.
This hour, Don previews the 2nd half of the show before hearing from Mike Gallo on when the going gets tough, or should I say... cold, where do all the fish go, Brendan Bayard tells us all about the best baits in Minimalist Challenge history, a Bad Boys story that tells us all about some real Elmer Fudd-like fools, Ryan Lambert describes how he is planning to get out on the water and into the blinds during a serious arctic weather event next week, and we close out hearing from Mike Smith on how the flyover numbers might've painted a different picture than we are seeing in the blinds.
Steve spends another week busy with HS hockey and Brandon has taken up Taekwondo as an adult. Night of the Lepus: Man's interference in nature comes back to bite him, with two giant anterior incisors. First, a farmer kills off all the coyotes on his land. Then, with no natural predators, the place is overrun by rabbits. What's he supposed to do now? Recruit a scientist to inject chemicals and hormones into the rabbits to kill them off, of course. But, as bad luck would have it, one of the modified rabbits is set free. That little fella procreates prolifically, as rabbits do, and soon, the Arizona countryside has to deal with a horde of giant bunny rabbits. Night of the Lepus final grade: Steve: Takes me back to the old days in Columbus, OH, hiding under my covers and watching creature features with Fritz the Nite Owl. Not a fantastically well-done movie, but the lighting is terrific and the nostalgia even better. 3.89/5.0 Brandon: A snuff film Elmer Fudd would love. Quaintly charming for its lack of special effects used on the "terrifying" rabbit menace. Worth watching if you're curious about stepping outside the standard horror spectacle. 3.03/5.0 MOCKtail of the Week: Sparkling Cherry Mocktail with Lime 2 oz Unsweetened Cherry Juice, "the expensive shit" 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice 1 oz Cherry Simple Syrup Sparkling Water or Club Soda Combine all non-fizzy ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake to chill and combine, then strain into a rocks glass over ice. Top with sparkling water. Garnish with lime wedge/slice and cherries. To turn it into a cocktail, Steve added two ounces of vodka Mocktail Grade: A very good non-alcoholic drink. Also, with no articial ingredients and all that stuff, it's a great replacement for your soda of choice. 4.5/5 Cocktail Grade: Delicious and sweet as the NA version. Oddly, kinda picked up a hint of vanilla flavor with the added vodka. Tones down the cherry a bit. 4.5/5 ------------------ Contact us with feedback or cocktail/movie recommendations to: boozeandbmovies@gmail.com X: @boozeandbmovies Instagram: @boozeandbmovies Threads: @boozeandbmovies www.facebook.com/boozeandbmovies

Jase is on a roll between sparking controversy with church attendees, making fun of Zach's fashion sense, and accurately comparing him to a famous cartoon character. Phil's injury has prompted others to pick up the slack in baptisms at church, but it's not quite the same. The guys discuss the nature of wisdom and how it's described over time throughout the Bible. Zach offers a clue to the meaning of the biblical phrase “enemies in your mind.” In this episode: Colossians 1, verses 15-20; Colossians 2; Proverbs 6, verse 16; Proverbs 7, verse 27; Proverbs 8, verses 22–23; Proverbs 21, verse 30; Ephesians 1, verse 4, John 2, verse 1 “Unashamed” episode 982 is sponsored by: https://preborn.com/unashamed — SAVE babies with your tax-deductible donation today! https://getliverhelp.com/unashamed — Get a FREE bottle of Blood Sugar Formula when you try Liver Health Formula. https://philmerch.com — Get your “Unashamed” mugs, shirts, hats & hoodies! -- Learn more about your ad choices. Today's show opens with a reminder about Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech after the death of Hamas leader Sinwar and how Israel will keep people safe who surrender and turn over the hostages. But, those who don't will be hunted down. Over the weekend, 100s of Hamas terrorists did just that, surrendered. Troubles deepen for former J6 Reality TV star Cassidy Hutchinson and Liz Cheney. Looks like a handwriting expert has Hutchinson perjuring herself and Liz likely knew it. Kamala is trying a new tactic. In an effort to appear “strong” she is screaming about not allowing Donald Trump to get back behind the Presidential Seal. It's reminiscent of Hillary Clinton. On top of that, over the weekend, someone at her rally yelled, “Jesus is Lord,” and she openly mocked that person and, by way of extension, all Christians. Even a political analyst on Fox News said it should be a campaign killing response. On the flip side, JD Vance handled a similar comment in a completely different way. When someone yelled, “Jesus is King,” JD not only acknowledged the comment, but also agreed with it. 60 Minutes is still trying to avoid giving up a transcript of the Kamala Harris interview, showing how they manipulated the edit to help her. They keep saying they did nothing wrong, but then refuse to release the transcript. Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) was asked about people mocking his hunting photo-op and he said he can shoot better than anyone and has the trophies to prove it. Okay, Elmer Fudd, whatever you say. Anne Hathaway reminds us the only topic Kamala Harris owns is the ides of killing a baby up to (and maybe even shortly after) the moment is born. The fear-mongering around being a parent really needs to be addressed in this nation. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was on Face the Nation on CBS and told them 75% of the votes cast in Georgia will be counted on election night, but the rest of the votes would not come in until Friday because they are going to be coming from mail-in ballots from out of the country. Is he serious?? Donald Trump kept his promise of working the fry machine at a McDonald's. The Left is trying to mock him for it, but it only shows us how badly they are losing this race. He's having a great time and the Harris campaign is having a meltdown. Finally, Elon Musk weighs-in on just how bad government bureaucracy really is. While it's funny to hear, it's also really sad and frustrating to see how out-of-control we have allowed the Federal government to become. Is Jeffy back from the dead? Early voting has begun in many states … what are the takeaways? Kamala Harris lays out her plans for black Americans. Today we open with another report from southern Lebanon, showing just how close Israel came to having an even worse Oct 7 massacre than they already had. The construction of the terror tunnels and planning for the attack were years in the making. I am waiting for Israel to show the world just how much the UN has been involved in supporting these terrorist regimes. Bombshell news from the J6 Investigative Committee chaired by Congressman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) revealing how former representative and co-Chair Liz Cheney was exchanging secret text messages with one of their “star” witnesses, Cassidy Hutchinson. This is obviously even more bad news for the J6 Reality TV Show that took place in 2022. A crime spree of 50 burglaries in NYC was carried out by 20 members of the same Venezuelan gang that took over “only” and handful of apartment complexes. A NYPD spokesperson told a local affiliate that they are all back on the streets of New York City. An activist judge in Georgia has decided that election officials in Georgia voting precincts have no choice but to certify their election numbers, even if they have evidence of fraud or error. Plus, he said he was suspending the rule of providing a hand count of the ballots to make sure they match the electronic number submitted. The FBI just now discovered they had misreported violent crime stats. Remember when ABC's David Muir “fact-checked” Trump during the debate with Harris? Looks like Trump was right once again! The Left, their paid shills and most of Hollywood is trying to convince you that Donald Trump had some episode where he froze for 30 minutes and played music. We all know, and ABC News confirmed it, that two people in the audience had a medical issue and Trump suspended the Town Hall to let the paramedics do their jobs. Anyone who lies and tries to tell you the opposite is a soulless parasite. So, of course, that's exactly what Gov. Elmer Fudd, aka Tim Walz (D-MN) did. The Bill Clinton moment I brought up yesterday while he was here in Georgia became the headline of the NY Post today. It's great to see when the truth accidentally finds it's way to the mouth of Leftists. We close with two sound bites from the Trump rally in Atlanta, GA yesterday. The first comes from Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) about masculinity. The second comes from Michaelah Montgomery whom Trump first met at a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta several months ago. Trump nearly shot again, media likes Venezuelan gangs, Border Patrol chooses Trump, why male voters despise Kamala, Walz does his Elmer Fudd impression, and HCIS with Pete Davis! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Today we open with a person arrested in California who seemed intent on assassinating Donald Trump at a rally. It's going to get worse, the closer we get, especially with the horrible week and weekend for the Harris-Walz campaign. Former CIA Director John Brennan was on MSNBC over the weekend, stating how dangerous Trump would be if he gets back into the White House. Well, excuse me if I no longer trust any of the spies who lied to us four year ago about the Biden laptop, directly interfering with the 2020 election. Martha Raddatz failed miserably in trying to down-play the Venezuelan gang takeover of several apartment complexes. JD Vance eviscerated her on This Week on ABC News. Reince Prebus did the same on the same ABC news show, talking about how Harris is losing across so many demographics. Then, House Speaker Mike Johnson took NBC's Kristen Welker apart regarding FEMA money spent on migrants and on Trump's cholesterol levels. For Halloween, a reminder, that the walking male member with eyebrows could easily pass for a long-distant relative of Nosferatu! He said having an open border simply to have illegals vote is preposterous. He is so adamant about it, that it must mean it is true. In an effort to regain momentum, Harris accused Trump of “hiding” from the public. Can you believe that? Only a complete idiot would think she is telling the truth. Then she told some wide-eyed story about meeting Sen. John McCain and how he said she was going to be a “great” senator. Unfortunately the late McCain's daughter said that didn't sound like him. In fact, she alluded to a story of what he really thought of her and spared her the embarrassment of saying it out loud. Gov. Elmer Fudd, aka, Tim Walz, made a fool of himself trying to do a hunter photo-op. Even a Leftist writer, Larry Taunton, had to call out the pathetic display for all the world to see. It's all fake and manufactured. Speaking of which, going back to the Univision Town Hall where Harris was caught with a teleprompter. Turns out journalist Michael Tracy was there and discovered half the audience was hand-picked and flown in to ask questions while the other half were a result of a casting company looking for actors. Even Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) has started to notice she is nothing more than a bad actress trying to play the part. In an attempt to get the campaign out of it's tailspin, someone thought it was a good idea to have Harris call out Indigenous People's Day and throw European settlers under the bus. It's too bad no one saw the irony of her condemning an open border that allowed an invasion of infiltrators. We close today with another installment of Deep Thoughts with VP Kamala Harris. She really has no idea how to be genuine, which his what makes her all the more worrisome as a candidate. Please take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. The show wrap-up “Smoking Gun” segment closing the Bob Rose Show Monday 10-14-24
In this lively episode, Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod dive headfirst into the final stretch before Election Day, reflecting on the latest political absurdities, including early voting, vote-by-mail debates, and how California and Washington are handling the madness. They discuss the recent rise of political "October surprises" and weigh in on topics like media coverage, military involvement in Israel, and a viral Kansas professor's controversial remarks. Of course, it wouldn't be *What The Frock?* without some hilarious hunting mishaps and a comparison of this election season's moments to classic political blunders of the past. Along the way, the duo takes on free speech controversies, the increasing role of AI in politics, and why Tim Walz might want to take a few gun safety lessons. And as always, they bring their unique blend of humor, insight, and irreverence to the ongoing chaos of American politics. Catch all the banter, hot takes, and thought-provoking moments on this episode of What The Frock?—and don't miss the surprising way AI is entering the election fray!
