We return to The Wonderful World of Disney for this week's offering, 1999's H-E Double Hockey Sticks, which reunites Boy Meets World's Will Friedel and Matthew Lawrence as Griffelkin, a demon in training, and Dave Heinrich, an ambitious hockey player who would sell his soul to win the Stanley Cup, and then does do that. But that's when things start to go wrong, not only for Griffelkin, who finds himself getting attached to his human target, but also the movie, which then aimlessly spins its wheels for ages until deciding it's going to spend the last twenty minutes speedrunning a ragtag sports movie arc. Will Dave learn to be a team player and turn around the fortunes of the Annapolis Angels? Will Griffelkin shut up for, like, five minutes? Is this entire movie the result of a wager between bored 19th Century aristocrats? This week on Critical Arcade, Nick and Dave strap on their heart-shaped sunglasses and ride into the neon dreamscape of 'Sayonara Wild Hearts.' Welcome to Episode 104 of "Unsportsmanlike Conduct," where your favorite trio—Farace, Tim, and Anthony—are back for a special Saturday morning edition. The big question: Will Dave make it, or has the call of the weekend sleep-in claimed another victim? First up on the docket, we'll be discussing Tua's latest concussion. Farace will likely provide an in-depth analysis that may or may not be based on actual medical knowledge, while Tim chimes in with facts only loosely related to the topic at hand. Anthony, ever the straight shooter, will attempt to keep things on track—but we all know how that usually goes. Then, it's on to the real fun—Week 2 NFL picks! Farace will predict with the same confidence he uses to pick his fantasy football team, while Tim's strategy will likely involve some questionable logic and an intense focus on which team's uniforms are better. Anthony, as always, will quietly remind everyone that he's the only one with a winning track record... until he's not. And let's not forget—this is happening on a Saturday morning. The real drama is whether or not Dave will roll out of bed in time to join the fun. The odds? About as good as Tim nailing a perfect pick. Join us for Episode 104, where NFL picks, Tua's health, and the mystery of Dave's alarm clock all come together for another round of barely-organized sports talk. #Tua #NFL #PopCulturePros

The brilliant Stephen Hawking once said “The increase of disorder or entropy is what distinguishes the past from the future, giving a direction to time.” So essentially, what he is saying is that the long an artist's career goes on, the more it degrades until finally, you find yourself recording country albums and doing duets with someone called Jellyroll. Good point that Steve. Great observation! But, will it be true for the Foo Fighters? Will Dave ever learn to walk again? This week, Megan and Dave discuss DUNE: PART TWO, Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Rebecca Ferguson. Dave found the fatalism inherent in its story rendered it dramatically inert, even if he dug its look (despite the on-the-nose Nuremberg rally-inspired sequence) and some of the performances. Megan loved the spectacular film: Dazzling visuals, immersive sound, excellent performances, riveting narrative, and a perceptive critique of colonialism and power dynamics. Everyone watched SPACEMAN, Johan Renck's existential sci-fi drama starring Adam Sandler (well, Dave listened to two-thirds of it for reasons that become clear pretty quickly) and we agree it has flaws. Lots of flaws. But, in the end, does the movie get past those flaws? Will Dave ever like a new release again? TBD on that second question, gang. TBD. Poor Dave is under the weather, so rather than subjecting you all to listening to the rantings and ravings of Billy left to his own devices, here is the first episode of our new bonus series ‘The Hunt for the Perfect Album', available to all patrons of the show! This first episode sees Dave listen to one of Billy's favourite albums - ‘Guppy' by ‘Charly Bliss'. An album that Billy dubs perfect. Will Dave agree? Either way - You all should check out Charly Bliss, as I (Billy) firmly believe they are the greatest band of the last 5 years.
