Matt sits down with Puori founder Oliver Amdrup. Puori is a supplement company dedicated to giving you the highest quality supplements while providing full transparency of the ingredients in their products. Oliver's passion for health and nutrition came way before he started Puori and was the main motivation for him to take the plunge into entrepreneurship. As Oliver studied nutrition he looked at what was on the market and realized that there was a huge lack of transparency with supplement brands who weren't forthcoming with some of the finer details of their products' ingredients. This lack of transparency built the foundation of Puori and helped them not only stand out but give consumers something they've been searching for; accountability. Puori's mission is to raise the standards of the supplement industry and create products that are made using the cleanest and highest quality possible. With their partnership with the Clean Labels Project, there's no question that they are well on the way to raising the bar for the industry. In this episode of ReddyYeti | Built On Passion Oliver Amdrup shares how and why he started Puori and what the road has been like in building a brand with such a high commitment to high-quality products and transparency.
Host Bryan Meszaros welcomes Trent Oliver, Principal and Managing Director of Blue Telescope. For nearly two decades she's led a team that designs, develops, and deploys award-winning technology-based exhibits. This wide-ranging and insightful conversation covers everything from binge-watching during the pandemic to the challenges of communicating creative ideas to clients. Prototyping and creative collaboration are key to the process so that clients aren't surprised by the final product.“If you want to get people out after being at home for a year it better be cool.” -Trent Oliver“Imagination is a muscle,” Oliver said. While it is challenging to invent and innovate, sometimes the greater challenge is communicating something unfamiliar to a client and helping them see how it can be used to engage visitors. The technology used in exhibits ranges from virtual reality to location sensors, touch screens, and projection — but the technology isn't the experience. Oliver points out that screens for the sake of technology aren't enough. “We can be far more inventive and reactive and have surprise and joy and have your behavior be part of the total interaction,” Oliver said. The most immersive experiences can't be replicated at home and depend on the viewer's interaction. Centering the experience on visitors means the focus isn't on the technology but how it is used to communicate “Every visitor wants to be seen and participate and be part of, not be blared at.” Oliver said. “Technology isn't the experience.”Oliver sees the interactive experience model expanding in the future as museums, theme parks, and retail converge to create new experiences for customers and visitors that give them something unique and surprising that they won't find on screens at home. As Oliver said, “If you want to get people out after being at home for a year it better be cool.”
As Oliver always states, Trading is much more than buying something for 1 dollar and selling it for 2. Trading is spiritual. Trading is a microcosmic version of life. Everything is connected.
As Oliver's court case approaches and tensions run high, Leanne may be about to resort to one of her more infamous mistakes. Alina's love life doesn't interest Sarah until it absolutely does. Sarah continues to be a miserable cow to Paul who is just trying to have a quiet life and stay out of horrid Todd's way. Billy's failure to inform Paul of a visit from a bishop has been lifted from a Brian Rix farce (one for the kids, there). Eileen gets a visit from The Undertaker who continues to work his charm on her. Everyone tells Nick not to give up on Leanne. Kirk is in charge of team-building. Sean is a peacock. Steve borrows a tie.
On Thursday morning I was immersed in a video conference, with the personable Josh MacFadyen, when I got a text message: As Oliver was across the street, at home, and “five machine” sounds a lot like “fire machine,” which is something someone might say when the house is burning down and they are panicking, I immediately ran across the street to rescue Oliver. Oliver was fine. The buzzer on the clothes dryer had gone off, and Oliver was simply, helpfully, letting me know. Here’s how the text message got to me: Oliver was upstairs in bed. The dryer’s buzzer went off. Oliver has a Google Home in his bedroom, so he asked it to call me: OK Google, call Peter. The Google Home dutifully called my office number. But my officer number automatically goes to voicemail, so Oliver left a voicemail (the one you can listen to above). The voicemail went to my voicemail system, which is set to automatically speech-to-text transcribe voicemails and email them to me. Which is how I got the text message “Five machine went off at home.” Lower shields.
"Welcome to Hong Kong" where China White rules the triad and Katana fights against them. The Monitor has brought Oliver, Diggle, and Laurel here after the destruction of Earth 2 to find a scientist that is working on redeveloping the Alpha/Omega virus. Oliver is convinced that the last Earth was destroyed because he didn't follow the Monitor's instructions so now he is making some questionable decisions about how to get things done. Laurel is trying to get back home, but all her efforts are for naught because there is nothing left. As Oliver tracks down his target, he runs across his old friend Katana, who reminds him what he's fighting for. In the future, Conner tries to convince JJ that he can be a good guy, but he doesn't really make much progress. Jay and Josh enjoy Chinese food on a business trip to Hong Kong on this week's Green Justice: An Arrow Podcast! Listen in and justice will be served...to your MP3 player!
DISCLAIMER: No cats were harmed in the making of this episode. But one was seen in the background of our video chat. Fuzz War. Cats. Absolute Destruction. Cats. Apocalypse. Cats. Interstellar Overdriver. Cats. Evil Filter. Cats. Robot. Cats. Supersonic Fuzz Gun. You get the picture (of cats in your head). This conversation was anything but your standard run of the mill podcast discussion. Oh, and besides the overuse of the word “Cats”, all of those are the names of DBA’s guitar pedals. NOT methods of global domination (or are they?! *wink*) FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS Death By Audio was started in 2002 as a guitar effects pedal company after Oliver started tinkering with new sounds and ideas for his own bands. He started making pedals for other people, and over time the pedals got more and more crazy and more and more in demand. The rest, as they say, is history. As for the name of the company, rest assured no one died or fell victim to any of the pedals DBA makes. Rather, as Oliver explains, it portrays the passion they have to build the best pedals they can. They live by the audio products and they’ll die by the audio products. You can’t get anymore passionate than that! WHAT’S UP WITH THE NAMES?! As Oliver explains, the names are derived from what the pedals actually sound like. Their team is driven to associate super awesome descriptive names to the pedals so players will know (almost) immediately what to expect when testing and buying new pedals. While Fuzz War will obviously be a fuzz pedal, I personally am afraid to plug anything into an Apocalypse or Absolute Destruction. The Evil Filter I am intrigued by. What magical sorcery will come of my quarter-inch plug when I engage this beast?! MATT’S DRUM AH-HA MOMENT Upon hearing about Matt’s drum background, Oliver immediately threw him a bone to explain how effect pedals can also be awesome as drum trigger effects too. What a surprise concept that now seems obvious in hindsight! Must. Annihilate. Drums. ABOUT OUR GUEST Oliver Ackermann, founder of Death By Audio, joins us in this episode to talk about how he started DBA, his experience with teaching himself how to solder and work with electronic components, what it’s like to go from building pedals for himself (by himself) to working with a team and building pedals for some of the top bands and artists in the market today, and why you’ll see the occasional cat on their Instagram gallery. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/behindthebackline/support

On this week's episode, we air a recent interview by Oliver Pulleyblank of Shea Coulson, who represented a group of BC wineries at the Supreme Court of Canada in R v Comeau, 2018 SCC 15, which involved an effort to #FreeTheBeer. As Oliver and Hilary Young were actually traveling at the time of taping, Rob Danay performs the rare solo triple obiter dicta. He discusses a recent case in which a Kuwaiti fish monger was shut down for using googly eyes to mask the not-so-fresh state of its ostensibly fresh fish, a recent complaint to the BC Human Rights Tribunal made by a woman who was fired from her job for failing to wear a bra, and an unsuccessful law suit in the BC Supreme Court in which a plaintiff complained that his rights were violated by the failure of the BC government to recognize and protect the Sasquatch. The Song: Francis Scott Key's "Star-Spangled Banner" (1814) For this July 4th week, Morgan and I wanted to do something special and tackle the Great American Heat Rock aka "The Star-Spangled Banner." As Oliver notes during the episode, this is both the oldest song that most Americans know (partly) by heart and the one that we'll hear the most versions of across our lifetimes. Some versions are transcendent. Some are historically groundbreaking. Some are by Fergie. Choose accordingly. As we return to Star City for the midseason premiere, we find Team Arrow - as the title would suggest - divided. While OTA (Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity) continue the fight to protect the city against the team of villains Cayden James has brought together, the remaining trio (Curtis, Dinah, and Rene) have left. As Oliver partners with a familiar name to bring down Cayden, he remains confident that the remaining team can still complete the mission, but unexpected threats intervene.
