It's 2040, do you know where "Green Arrow and the Canaries" are? Oliver's mantle is left in good hands. IGN can exclusively reveal that Detective Jim Corrigan, human host of the powerful cosmic entity known as the Spectre, will appear in the crossover. The CW has cast Stephen Lobo (Continuum, Supernatural) as Jim Corrigan. The network isn't confirming whether The Spectre himself will appear, though given the character's role in the original Crisis on Infinite Earths comic, that seems a distinct possibility. In the comics, Corrigan is a mortal human bonded to the Spectre, a powerful supernatural avenger. The Arrowverse has come a long way and it started all the way back in 2012 when Arrow premiered on The CW. Following the story of Green Arrow (Stephen Amell,) the DC drama was the first step in creating the large DC TV Universe that exists today on The CW. But all good things must eventually come to an end and that is the case for Arrow as their eighth upcoming season will be the show's final one.  San Diego Comic-Con 2019 was an emotional one for the Arrowverse as Arrow took part of its final panel, previewing the final season. Emiko's "Inheritance" seems to be on overwhelming sense of vengeance on the Queen family. We witness the tragic origin of Emiko Queen as she is abandoned by Robert. Along the way through her lonely life without her father, she comes across Dante. He teaches her to be tough and ruthless and eventually gives her information she can use to get justice. Laurel Lance snoops around looking for some dirt on Emiko but is attacked before she can learn much. She passes it on to Oliver though, who doesn't take the news well. He gives her the benefit of the doubt until she betrays the team once again and assists the Ninth Circle in obtaining sarin gas. With DeVoe moving forwards with his plans, Team Flash decide to secure Neil Borman. Barry and Cisco travel to Earth X to recruit Leo Snart as a backup, but are followed to Earth 1 by the Earth X doppelganger of Laurel Lance. Team Flash plan to deliver Borman to a safe ARGUS facility, using a suit to contain the radiation, with Snart on hand, in case Borman goes nuclear. Snart agrees to help, but claims he can only stay for 24 hours, as he is due to get married to Ray Terrill. DeVoe attempts to intercept the transfer, but he and Team Flash are further ambushed by Earth X Laurel, who kidnaps Caitlin, Borman and Joe, holding them at CCPD. Snart learns about Ralph, and convinces Barry to allow himself to grieve his fallen allies, which Barry eventually does, giving him strength to defeat Laurel. Lyla transfers Borman to another facility and Leo returns to Earth X. Cisco and Wells come up with a plan to boost Wells' thinking cap. Devoe goes more into his "god-complex"; stating that human emotion is a weakness, causing Marlize to doubt him.

A "Doppelgänger" can cause a lot of problems if they pretend to be your daughter and join up with the new criminal boss in town. Laurel goes to the press and claims to be the real Laurel Lance. This insures her protection by Oliver so she won't reveal his true identity to the public. As long as the good Mayor can keep Dinah away from her, that arrangement may work out ok. But then the prosecutors reveal that they will present Roy Harper as a key witness in the case against Green Arrow. The team does all they can to track down Roy and rescue him, but he's being held and tortured by some pretty bad guys, who are all minions of Ricardo Diaz. Thea is even so desperate to rescue Roy that she suits up too. But Diaz is smart, and he seems to know everything about the team. In an attempt to gain their trust, Black Siren steps up and gives them the information they need to get Roy to safety. It works, and luckily he gets away with Thea. Legends Of Tomorrow had a big presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con where cast and producers revealed exciting new details about the third season of the time traveling superhero series. Legends Of Tomorrow Podcast/DC TV Podcasts participated in the press room for Legends of Tomorrow where Amy Marie Hypnarowski (of The Flash Podcast and Legends of Tomorrow Podcast) chatted with the cast at the round tables to get some new details on Season 3. The Flash Gets a New Suit in Season 4 Set Photo (Date 29 July 2017) a. Set photos captured by YVRShoots.com show Gustin on set during July 28th, wearing what appears to be a new Flash suit. This comes after Gustin shared a photo of part of the suit on Instagram, and spoke about his desire for a new costume during an interview with ComicBook.com at San Diego Comic-Con. SUPERGIRL Season 3 Trailer Released; Calista Flockhart Set To Recur & Four New Cast Additions Announced (Date 22 July 2017) a. The CW has confirmed that Calista Flockhart will return for Supergirl season three and it sounds like she'll be popping in a lot more frequently this time around as she's secured recurring status. She'll first appear in the season premiere on October 9. Additionally, Adrian Pasdar, Carl Lumbly, Yael Grobglas, and Emma Tremblay have all joined the cast. Pasdar will play Morgan Edge, a ruthless real estate developer who will find himself at odds with Lena Luthor. Lumbly will play J'onn's father M'yrnn J'onzz, a pacifist religious leader on Mars. Grobglas will play Psi, a psychic villain who uses people's minds against them. Tremblay will play Ruby, a smart kid who's fascination with Supergirl lands her in serious trouble. LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 3 Trailer Released; Both Captain Cold & Damien Darhk Will Return (Date 22 July 2017) a. The CW announced today that both Wentworth Miller and Neal McDonough will reprise their roles as Captain Cold and Damien Darhk, respectively, on the upcoming third season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Miller will actually return in a recurring capacity, but he won't exactly be the Leonard Snart we came to know and love in seasons one and two. He'll instead be playing a brand new version of fan-favorite character, which should lead to some interesting interactions between him and Mick. During the panel, executive producer Phil Klemmer teased, “Mick Rory needs his pal, but unfortunately he's not going to get the version of his pal that he remembers.” Meanwhile, McDonough will be upped to a series regular and will also come with his own, more dangerous, changes. "We'll be meeting a new version of Damien Darhk, a little less silly, a little more formidable." Arthur Darvill will also be back as Rip Hunter, but in a recurring role, and it sounds like he'll be coming into conflict with his former teammates. “Last season, the Legends were the only game in town,” Klemmer said. “Now they're competing with the best and brightest. Rip Hunter has reconstituted what the Time Masters were, so the existential question for the Legends is where do we fit into this universe?” As for new additions, a new villain will arise in the form of Kuasa, Vixen's granddaughter. Is there any chance Alura is actually still alive on Supergirl? — With Erica Durance joining the show in a recast of Alura, EW pressed new showrunners Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner for answers at Comic-Con. “Shrouded in mystery, those questions,” Queller said coyly. Rovner added: “We wanted to keep Alura's presence on the show because it really connects Kara to Krypton and her roots and what it meant to see her family and her planet destroyed. It's an emotional grounding that's always important.” However, there's a good chance Mon-El ended up in the Phantom Zone — you know, the same Kryptonian prison that Alura had a hand in sending criminals to, so what if she escaped the destruction of Krypton and ended up there herself? Another dodge from the EPs: “Where Mon-El is and how he comes back is the central mystery of our season,” Queller said. “But the theme of this season is what does it mean to be human? THE FLASH Star Grant Gustin Says It's The Show's Goal To Adapt CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS (Date 25 July 2017) a. Speaking to ComicBook at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Grant Gustin confirmed that while it's still a long time from happening, it's been the goal to eventually adapt Crisis on Infinite Earths on the show . "We don't really talk about it on a yearly basis but it was mentioned early on and that's a goal. Obviously we'd have to go I think ten years to reach that, so there's a possibility for sure. It'll be fun to get there." The massive multiverse event saw the collapse of multiple parallel universes, along with the "death" of The Flash himself. The story has been hinted at since the pilot episode of the show, where the Reverse Flash views a newspaper headline from the future stating that The Flash has "vanished in a crisis". Showrunner Todd Helbing also spoke to CB about the upcoming season 4, which he promised will be "fun" again after the "doom and gloom" of season 3. During the show's panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Kuasa — the sister of Mari McCabe's Vixen — was announced as a villain for the upcoming season. Now, we can put a face to the name. Quantico star Tracy Ifeachor will play the character. Since Kuasa is Mari's sister, that also makes her the granddaughter of Amaya, who is slated to be a main character in Legends Season 3. The Flash Season 4 Set Photos Show New Female Villain (Date 29 July 2017) a. YVRShoots.com recently shared pictures of The Flash's newest foe, who will reportedly appear the third episode of the season, entitled 'Luck Me a Lady.' In one set of photos, an actress is robbing a bank in a red dress, while other photos show the same actress running after a bus in a rather noteworthy casino outfit. Fans were quick to recognize the casino dealer outfit as that belonging to the DC Comics villain Becky Sharpe, a.k.a. Hazard. Hazard has appeared throughout the DC Comics mythos as a member of the Injustice Society, and was the granddaughter of the original Gambler. Longtime comic book readers would recognize that name: Clifford DeVoe is a longtime Flash and Titans villain better known as The Thinker. Created in 1943, The Thinker is one of The Flash's earliest villains. Originally a foe to Jay Garrick, DeVoe battled three generations of Flashes before his death in The Flash #134 in 1998. After his death, though, his brain patterns were used to create an AI that went on to become an antihero. Makaro. The team has been in flux all season, with Diggle being out for certain periods of time, Artemis betraying the team, and the loss of Ragman. Curtis and Wild Dog have managed to stick around, though, and the team seems poised to finally get a new Black Canary full time. It would be unfortunate for Olliver's ragtag group to dissolve so quickly, but that definitely might be the case. Tolkien. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim shared a cast list for the season finale episode, titled “Aruba,” on Twitter. The cast list includes all the usual suspects, like the “Legends” team and the members of the Legion of Doom. It also includes a surprise guest star: J.R.R. Tolkien, played by Jack Turner (Freeform's “Stitchers”). Since we haven't seen a synopsis for “Aruba” just yet, we don't actually know if this is the J.R.R. This time around, he got a version of the Steel powers -- and, as in the comics, it comes from Nazis trying to take out the JSA who inadvertently provide him with abilities. TO BE MARRIED TOMORROW - The idea that the beautiful girl he happens upon is set to be married tomorrow to the Shogun -- loosely translated as "Royal Ugly Dude" -- feels like the kind of thing that pops up from time to time in time-travel fiction...but Bill & Ted is the most obvious one for us. LOST - "If I've learned one thing from Lost, it's that you don't go opening secret hatches." This is one of a couple of not-so-subtle pop culture references this week. Typically those don't make the "Easter eggs" lists, but we're acknowledging more of them this year since last season we had lots of fans chiming in to let us know that we "missed" them in the comments. Obviously, that's a reference to the long-running network drama LOST, one of the big mysteries of which revolved around a hatch into an underground chamber which, rather than providing the answers the characters hoped, only resulted in more questions. 2056 - There are a few superheroes -- notably The Flash and Green Lantern -- who have spent time in the not-too-distant future quite a bit in their careers, but the year 2056 doesn't come up specifically in the comics. Where it does come up is in Young Justice, the animated series in which Barry Allen's grandson Bart (Impulse/Kid Flash/Flash) played a key role. In that version of the story, Bart comes from a future where The Reach has conquered Earth and travels back in time to join Young Justice, which in part could potentially help to alter that dark future. MASTER YODA  - Of course, almost anyone would know that the reference to Ray Palmer's "sensei" Yoda, who shared the wisdom "do or do not; there is no try," is a nod to The Empire Strikes Back, in which the diminutive Jedi Master trained Luke Skywalker to harness the Force. THE SOULTAKER - It's established by the end of the episode that the young woman Nate wanted to help was pretty capable of defending herself under normal circumstances. She's from the clan Yamashiro, which if you don't recognize, you ought to. Not only did her descendant Tatsu Yamashiro and her husband Maseo recur throughout season 3 of Arrow, but Tatsu also appeared in this summer's Suicide Squad movie in her costumed identity as Katana. That sword? It's the Soultaker which, in the comics and in the Suicide Squad movie, absorbs the soul energy of the people killed with it. And the description of those who have seen her on the set is that she wears all black. Put that with the executive producer Wendy Mericle saying that Green Arrow needs Black Canary and the spoiler-ish trailer telling us that the Laurel Lance we've seen is the Earth-2 version… this is making people on-line question if Tina Boland will become the new Black Canary. Earth-1 Laurel asked Ollie to not let the Black Canary end with her. Only the Earth-2 Laurel solves the problem of the Canary Cry being natural, but having her go through a full redemption arc compared to bringing in a new character all together might make Tina the better choice. We know she ends up joining with Team Arrow against Prometheus… but will she do it in a familiar black outfit? Executive producer Marc Guggenheim told ComicBook.com that he and the writers were aware of the excitement fans have for both Lundgren and the Bratva flashbacks, as well as the additional social media attention on all things Russian just now, all of which makes the episode seem like a good way to fill in some backstory. "Russia is very much in the zeitgeist these days, and coming into the back half of the year, we're doing a lot more with Russia," Guggenheim told ComicBook.com. The remaining issues surrounding Prometheus are still weighing heavy on Oliver and the team, and it sends him further into a state of disbelief. For anyone in that world, it's a difficult time to understand what's going on around you. In addition to the teasing of these complicated plot lines, the new trailer features a ton of action. In fact, we may be seeing some of the best action in the show's five-year run. The Justice Society of America was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox. The JSA first appeared in All Star Comics #3 (Winter 1940–1941). VIXEN - Probably the most recognizable member of the JSA's cast this time around was Vixen -- at least for fans of the CWverse. In addition to having her own animated series, Vixen -- an African-American woman who derives the power of animals from the Tantu Totem she wears around her neck -- had a memorable guest appearance on Arrow last season. Of course, that's all Mari. This woman? Mari's grandmother, Amaya Jiwe, who passed the totem down through their family. HOURMAN - Rex Tyler, also known as Hourman, is a Golden Age superhero and the first of a number of characters to use the Hourman name. Tyler has a number of superhuman abilities, like enhanced strength, reflexes, and healing -- but only for an hour at a time. His abilities are given to him by Miraclo, a drug he designed himself. There is an Hourman legacy including Rex's son Rick and an android from the 853rd Century programmed to act as a member of the Tyler family. The android, at a point in the past, presented Rex with an hourglass infused with tachyons -- time in its most basic form -- and that hourglass would become part of both his and Rick's costumes. Said hourglass has been seen on board the Waverider on previous episodes of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.. STARGIRL - Stargirl is Courtney Whitmore. In the TV series, she exists in 1942 -- but in the original comics, she was created (and existed) in 1999, and was part of a "next generation" of Justice Society members who came up in the late '90s and early 2000s. Courtney Whitmore was created by Geoff Johns and Lee Moder, and has a famous backstory: Johns named her after (and based her personality on) his sister Courtney, who died in the explosion of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. COMMANDER STEEL - Commander Steel is Hank Heywood, Sr., the first in a line of DC heroes to use variations on the Steel moniker. A legend in the World War II era and a member of the All-Star Squadron and later the Justice Society of America, Heywood's body had surgically-implanted mechanized steel devices that allowed his body to work on a superhuman level. Originally just "Steel," he was promoted to Commander Steel by President Roosevelt in 1940 -- so while this is his first appearance in live action, it's timeline-accurate to call him Commander Steel by this point in his career since the story takes place in 1942. DOCTOR MID-NITE - Doctor Mid-Nite is a name shared by a number of blind super-heroes and physicians with the ability to see in the darkness, using blackout bombs and martial arts to gain an advantage over criminals. Doctor Mid-Nite was created by Charles Reizenstein and Stan Aschmeier, first appearing in All-American Comics #25. OBSIDIAN - Obsidian is the son of Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott, a founding member of the JSA in the comics. He and his sister Jade would go on to play an important role in the Justice Society's sinoff groups the Young All-Stars and Infinity, Inc., as well as eventually joining the Justice Society itself. He was also briefly affiliated with the Justice League. LEAVENWORTH - The United States Penitentiary, Leavenworth is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates in northeast Kansas. On Arrow, it was revealed that Leavenworth is where John Diggle is being held while awaiting his court martial. KRIEGER - There are basically two figures who could have inspired Baron Krieger, even though there is no specific Baron Krieger in DC Comics. The first is Baron Blitzkrieg: Originally a World War II German army officer, the man who would be Baron Blitzkrieg was blinded when a concentration camp prisoner threw acid into his face. German scientists experimented on him, giving him injections of experimental drugs which would give him incredible powers for brief periods of time. The other possibility is Albrecht Krieger, who was basically Captain America, but for Nazis. A genetically-modified super-soldier, Krieger also had a mad scientist brother and a psychic  sister we might have to worry about if it's him -- and while the backstory feels a lot more like Blitzkrieg's, Krieger has not only the name but the general look of this week's threat. MAX LORENZ - Max Lorenz was a famous singer, who lived in Germany around the time of World War II and is widely known as "Hitler's favorite tenor." Of course, it's a handy thing that Legends of Tomorrow star Victor Garber has the pipes to make that scene convincing. UBERMENSCH - It's worth noting that there are several references to "Übermensch" in here, which is derived from Nietzsche in Thus Spake Zarathustra, one of the influences for Superman, which is more or less what the word translates to directly. The term can literally translate to "Overman," which in the DC Comics universe is an alternate-universe version of Superman who lives on an Earth where the Nazis won World War II.REVERSE-FLASH - Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, may have something up his sleeve. At the end of The Flash's Season 3 premiere earlier this month, he said that while his future was as it should be, Barry's might not be. Barry then went home to discover a number of small anomalies that made his life and those of his friends worse. Now, we learn that "somebody" is outfitting the villains of history with future tech in order to push the world to a slightly worse place. Could Eobard Thawne have stepped right out of "Flashpoint" and into "Out of Time?" Either way, seeing him and Darhk together is enough to make seasoned Arrowverse fans quake in their boots even before they know the other members of Thawne's little Legion of Doom. The series will also introduce a new telepathic gorilla straight from the comics, Solovar. Keith David will provide the voice of Solovar in the Gorilla Grodd-centric two-parter. Kreisberg also revealed that the two-parter will span multiple Earths. “One of the episodes will take place in Gorilla City [on Earth-2], and one of them will take place on Earth-1.” In the comics, Solovar — a psychic gorilla like Grodd — is the leader of Gorilla City. It's likely been the name of a number of time travel-related stories -- but most recently, it was the name of a story that ran through The Flash #30-35 (from the 2011 series) and featured, among other villains, The Reverse-Flash. The fact that the final moments of the episode incorporate the "surprise" appearance of Eobard Thawne, then, suggests this could have been a more-than-incidental use of the name. OLIVER QUEEN - Oliver Queen, seen wearing a suit and not in his Green Arrow costume for the purposes of this season finale, is played by Stephen Amell. The star of Arrow, Oliver is generally considered the genesis point for The CW's DC Universe (even though they obviously had Smallville and Birds of Prey long before Arrow came along). Amell's Green Arrow appeared in the series premieres of both The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, so this episode more or less continues a tradition. NATE HEYWOOD - Nick Zano joins the cast as Nate Heywood -- "Citizen Steel" -- who in the comics inherits the powers and costume of his grandfather. He's a troubled individual, suffering from both physical and emotional damage, in the comics -- but as Zano told ComicBook.com at Comic Con International: San Diego, that's not the direction they're going with Heywood on TV. THE THREE MUSKETEERS - Cardinal Richelieu, depicted as one of the villains of Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, being included in this episode more or less cements the idea that they look like that on purpose -- and explains why certain characters who were strategically important in the fight -- like Jax, for instance -- had to stay out of sight. REX TYLER - Rex Tyler, the Golden Age Hourman and a veteran member of the Justice Society of America, is one of a number of DC heroes who would pass on his name and legacy numerous times over the decades to come in the comics. On TV, he made a single, brief appearance at the end of the season 1 finale of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and will show up again -- with the rest of the Justice Society this time -- in next week's episode as well. DAMIEN DARHK - Damien Darhk was the season four big bad on Arrow. Like Ra's al Ghul, he's a very old man who has been kept relatively young by the Lazarus Pit because of his position of power and authority first within the League of Assassins and later in H.I.V.E. Originally created as a villain in The Titans, Darhk's control of H.I.V.E. made him an ideal choice when The CW decided to introduce a magical villain last year. He was nearly unbeatable until Oliver figured out how to manipulate Darhk's energy to his own ends, and now he's dead -- except that as somebody who's been not only alive, but rich and powerful for decades, he's surprisingly easy for a time-traveling troublemaker to find and recruit. ALBERT EINSTEIN - First of all, he's appeared in DC Comics before. In an oversized issue Superman vs. Wonder Woman, Nazis went after Einstein in 1942. Ultimately, Wonder Woman rescues him but ends up finding out about the Manhattan Project. After becoming a person of interest for a while and throwing down with Superman a bit, she ends up teaming up with the Last Son of Krypton to track down and defeat Baron Blitzkrieg. Secondly, the thing with his wife is actually based in historical controversy.  Mileva Marić was a Serbian physicist and has long been rumored to have coauthored Einstein's 1905 paper on relativity. INSULTING RAY - Calling him a "boy scout" feels like a nod to Brandon Routh's time as Superman, but the whole "what are you without that suit?" reeks of Marvel's The Avengers. That's a comic book movie reference twofer! REVERSE-FLASH - Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, may have something up his sleeve. At the end of The Flash's Season 3 premiere earlier this month, he said that while his future was as it should be, Barry's might not be. Barry then went home to discover a number of small anomalies that made his life and those of his friends worse. Now, we learn that "somebody" is outfitting the villains of history with future tech in order to push the world to a slightly worse place. Could Eobard Thawne have stepped right out of "Flashpoint" and into "Out of Time?" Either way, seeing him and Darhk together is enough to make seasoned Arrowverse fans quake in their boots even before they know the other members of Thawne's little Legion of Doom. Flashbacks show that Oliver killed Claybourne after discovering that he financed a TB epidemic, then raised the price on his drug to boost his company's profits. When the team tracks down Prometheus, Evelyn reveals her true allegiance and escapes with Prometheus. Investigating Prometheus on his own, Billy sends information he discovers to Felicity just before the villain captures him. The information turns out to be about Claybourne's illegitimate son, who may now be seeking retribution. Oliver deduces that Prometheus is at Claybourne's former office building and goes there alone. He finds that Prometheus has staged it to resemble Oliver's prior attack. Oliver kills Prometheus, only to discover he has actually killed a gagged Billy, whom the real Prometheus set up as himself to trick Oliver. Curtis's husband Paul leaves him after discovering Curtis is a vigilante; Felicity mourns Billy's death; Diggle is recaptured; and Oliver finds Laurel Lance alive and well inside the lair.

Oliver finds himself back at Queen Manor; both his parents are alive, he is about to be married to Laurel Lance, and Diggle is the Hood. However, it is revealed that he, Diggle, Thea, Sara and Ray are all being held unconscious inside pods aboard a Dominator spaceship. Meanwhile, Felicity, Curtis and Cisco Ramon try to hack into the Dominators' mainframe using a piece of their technology. The team recovers a necessary device with the help of the Flash and Supergirl, and they manage to locate the others. Oliver begins seeing flashes of his former life, as do Sara and Ray. All five captives soon realize that they are inside a shared hallucination. Their escape attempt is blocked by manifestations of Malcolm Merlyn, Deathstroke, Damien Darhk and their mercenaries, all of whom are defeated by the captives. The captives then leave the dream and awaken inside the ship. Escaping in a shuttle, they are rescued by the Waverider. Ray deduces that the Dominators were gathering information from their minds, using the hallucination as a distraction, to help them complete a special "weapon". The team learns that the Dominator mothership is headed toward Earth. This episode continues a crossover that begins on The Flash season 3 episode 8 and concludes on Legends of Tomorrow season 2 episode 7.

Oliver finds himself back at Queen Manor; both his parents are alive, he is about to be married to Laurel Lance, and Diggle is the Hood. However, it is revealed that he, Diggle, Thea, Sara and Ray are all being held unconscious inside pods aboard a Dominator spaceship.
