We’re changing this up here. In the last episode, I mentioned this segment being more of a hybrid solo / mini-interview format and making this more of a bonus episode. In this episode, we’ll dive into the subject of coworking spaces, why one might need one, how one size does not fit all and some things to think about when considering using one. Whether you’re a full-time entrepreneur, creative business owner or side hustler on the lookout for dedicated space to work without breaking the bank, this episode will provide some insight on how to go about finding the right workspace for you. This special episode of Simply Designed Life Podcast will be broken down into three parts. In part I, I’ll be sharing my conversations with both my previous guests from Episode 60 with Kimi Morton and Pua Pakele + Cabot who planted the idea of choosing to work in a coworking space in the first place. They’re based out of Hawaii. In part II, we’ll bring on Katy Comber and Patty Kline Capaldo, the amazing founders of the Creative Light Factory outside of Philadelphia. In Part III, I’ll share my thoughts and insights on the coworking space experience, why one size doesn’t fit all, and what you could do to get started in coworking space journey if that’s what you choose to do for your creative project, side hustle or business at this time. Think of this as a short list of lessons learned and other insights you can take and put into place for your own situation. Who are Kim and Pua? Scheduling calls and creative work around the times that we have the most energy is a really great time to start. (10:30) The biggest shift I think in terms of listening to our intuition was moving from working with corporations to working with entrepreneurs because we really wanted to follow what really lit them on the inside. (20:17) The more authentic that you are. The more you that you are. The more you fully allow yourself to be yourself, it opens up the floodgates, for people to be attracted to that vibration and you living YOUR best life is exactly what magnetizes clients to you. We actually saw a big jump and expansion in our business when we shifted to becoming more ourselves. And that’s been at every shift that we’ve made in our business. Kimi Morton & Pua Pakele, co-founders of Best Life Ever, were drawn together by a calling – a burning desire to help people fall in love with their lives and their businesses! What started as a fun side hustle, has not only turned into a thriving business, but also a radical movement to expand the way people think, work, and live in today’s modern world. At Best Life Ever, we're constantly evolving and reinventing ourselves as a business. We just launched a new BLE service (we're now joyously helping businesses create online courses and membership sites) and it has us thinking a lot about REINVENTION. Reinvention isn't always about big dramatic change, it's just a willingness to course-correct on your journey to your destination. It’s about your ability to stay open to other ways to get to where you want to go. It's about slowing down regularly and asking yourself if your current identity is serving you. Bullshit stories, limiting beliefs, and old ideas can grow on us like barnacles. Take a moment to look at your ship - do you need to course-correct, any barnacles slowing you down? Consider that life isn't about finding yourself, it's about reinventing yourself, again and again and again. We are dedicating September (Kimi’s birthday month!) to bringing more EASE to your life. We have declared September as Hook Up Your Future Self Month! This is a 3-part series is dedicated to helping you create more awareness, ease, and peace of mind in your life. At Best Life Ever, we talk a lot about “hooking up your future selves”. We encourage our clients to look for ways to make life easier for the tired, overwhelmed, or burned out future versions of themselves, but also as a way to increase efficiency and productivity and supercharge your life. In today’s episode, we talk about HUYFS basics. Managing dinner-time hangriness by throwing a meal in a crock pot that morning, filling up your gas tank on the weekend instead of running on empty during the busier work week, basically anything you can do to prep and plan ahead for that weary, fated future you. The questions your future self wants you to ask: How can I make my life easier? What repeating challenges do I see? What is on the horizon? What is coming up that I can take care of farther in advance than usual? Self care! Wheee! You’re next ;) What tasks can I batch and what can I do or purchase in bulk? Next week, we’ll cover HUYFS 201. We want you to try these basics for a week, let us know how it goes, and then we’ll have another episode for you on this same topic next Sunday!
