A real ER doctor joins the show to talk about life in the emergency room, which regularly includes anal extractions, clipping bones like dog toenails, and broken penises. He and Cheef discuss the compound fracture they saw in Virgin last weekend. Cheef reads synthetic marijuana and delta-9 horror stories from the Gnards, with the doc (who the crew refers to as Dr. Barry McCockiner) tells stories of spiced-up and paranoid D-9 users. JP tries to convince Cheef and Rob to eat chocolate-covered oranges. Cheef is apparently sunning his butthole again. Support this stupidity on Patreon. Check out our jerseys at gnarcouch.com. On today's CJ is Fat, we discover a job opening for a Canadian candy company that is hiring a professional taster. Yes. Candy. Tasting. And it pays $100K! Hell, I'd do it for free. The only downside is that the business is in Canada, and we don't know if they use real money there. Emily shares with us a story from her horrible experience at a Float Fest of years past. She also has a show recommendation that you can find on Netflix, and the premise sounds pretty unique. It involves murder mystery too. And Matt highlights the Classic Game Fest that is taking place in Austin this weekend, which sounds like a nice gathering for nerds and families alike. Also, how are NFT owners doing recently? Well, according to Matt - not good. Learn more in today's Weird or Wired. Okay, bye.Support the show: https://www.101x.com/justmattandcj/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Cait no longer knew her husband. She understood this but what she couldn’t quite comprehend was the fear. He was scary, this man —surely. This “serious writer guy”, as he called himself these days, but was it really this new self-entitlement and the accompanied strange behavior that made her so frightened, or was it the speed with which the man she’d loved, had so effortlessly slipped into the role of the stranger? A chill swept through Cait’s husband’s computer room and reached her in the doorway, she rubbed her exposed arms. Cait noticed that the window was open, and although she was instructed to never —ever, enter Jack’s computer room without him present, she stepped boldly into the room and closed the window shut. Jack’s computer was on, she noticed this by the white glow of the monitor. “I’m a serious writer guy now, and I'm working on a very important article...” Jacks voice from several weeks ago echoed across Cait’s memory. As far as she knew, Jack was still working on the article, as she had stopped inquiring about his progress after their last shouting match, an argument that Cait considered to be the starting point of his personality shift. ”It’ll be done when it’s done!” She can remember him screaming, “so quit fucking asking me!” Cait took a peek at the monitor and noticed that the word processing program was still up, Jack must have been working on his article! In a matter of seconds curiosity had overtaken Cait, and she soon had the computer mouse in hand. As she scrolled through the text, Cait’s mouth dropped open and her eyes grew wide as the coiling mass of fear took hold in her stomach, and metastasized to other parts of her body. She couldn’t believe it, page-after-page, line-after-line it was all the same, the same phrase repeated endlessly on screen: “All show and no play, makes Jack a Candy-Boy.” Cait couldn’t tear her eyes away from the monitor, and they were trapped in place as she backed away from the printed rows of a diseased mind. “Do you like it?” Said Jack from the doorway, and Cait screamed. Jack and Cait talk about how Jack is hanging up his “Candy Boy” nickname and adopting a newer, healthier lifestyle as “Salad Boy.” They also discuss the latest with the FAA whistleblowers, The JackAM book club for chapters 10-15 of Bad Blood, an online quiz where they see if they can guess all the democrats who are running for president, Bravo Con, Beto Loves ACCE$$ to healthcare, and then.... well… Jack bizarrely ends the show by going over a list that ranked different hot dogs. Derek Simon and Ed DeRosa recap last weekend’s Fountain of Youth and Risen Star Stakes. Was Wildcat Red’s gutty win simply a product of the Gulfstream Park track bias? Did Intense Holiday’s win at Fair Grounds flatter Cairo Prince and Honor Code? In the U. of Bet segment, Dave “The Horse Handicapping Authority” Schwartz and Derek discuss letting go of the destructive emotions that can lead otherwise successful players to ruin. And, lastly, in the Handicapping segment, Derek looks at the pedigrees of top Derby candidates Wildcat Red, General A Rod and Candy Boy.
