Sometimes we talk about movies that are a good hang. Elijah Bynum's Magazine Dreams is not one of them, but it is a fascinating watch with an astonishing performance by Jonathan Majors. At one point it looked like he could win an Oscar for the role — before legal troubles nearly ended his career. Now Magazine Dreams is part of a comeback attempt. Hosted on Acast. This week's Mental Man Monday features a raw and honest conversation between Izzy Baker and special guest Derek Alexander Scott, also known as DScott (@dscott._). Together, they unpack the intersection of manhood, media, cancel culture, and mental health. The episode opens with a recap of PSA: The Mental Health Podcast's Season 9 premiere, As a Man, You're Not Him (Yet). DScott shares how that episode hit deep, especially the parts about commitment issues, emotional stagnation, and men being stuck in cycles they never address. He reveals that he had to run it back twice and talks about how these topics come up constantly in his real-life circle. From there, the conversation shifts to the recent Jonathan Majors interview on Cam Newton's Funky Friday podcast.Izzy raises difficult questions. Was what Majors went through a humiliation ritual? Would the public reaction have been different if his accuser wasn't white? Can a man who's fallen still be trusted to lead? In the final segment, the episode takes on an even heavier tone with the story of Kyren Lacy, the LSU football player who tragically took his own life the night before his court date for a fatal hit-and-run.Izzy and DScott dive into the emotional weight of guilt, the silence so many young men live with, and the spiritual truth that healing requires more than just therapy. Sometimes, it requires God. This livestream isn't just conversation. It's a mental health check-in. It's a faith-based reflection on what men are going through when no one's watching. And it's a call for more real conversations like this—where accountability, healing, and hope meet.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/p-s-a-the-mental-health-podcast--5520511/support.

Jonathan Majors was an actor on the rise—indie credits, prestige television, a Spike Lee joint, a superhero film. But all of that looked like it was over when Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment in 2023. Now Majors is back on the promotional circuit for the film “Magazine Dreams.” Is this evidence of the #MeToo movement's waning power, or is it more of the same from an industry that's always eager for a man's redemption story? This week on Virgo Season, spring is acting real inconsistent and Joyhdae is calling her out: “Fight back, sis!” Meanwhile, Ryan's new body means new clothes, but after one sweater run and a declined Visa, the real trauma happens in the locker room—where a man is wearing absolutely nothing… but sneakers. We wish that was a joke.Ryan shares how he fought for his life in a Ticketmaster queue to secure tickets (this time not for Beyoncé), and what began as a strategic plan to avoid the concert turned into a surprise birthday gift that almost didn't happen—because Ticketmaster loves drama. Also in this episode, we check in on a few of your faves and not-so-faves. Keke Palmer is catching serious heat for giving Jonathan Majors a seat on her podcast, and Black women are letting her know exactly why that was not the move. Eric Adams somehow got his federal case dismissed with prejudice, told us he's still not running as a Democrat, and name-dropped Trump's people at a press conference like we forgot who he's supposed to be.And then there's Cory Booker, who delivered a 25-hour and 5-minute speech to call out the Trump administration and sound the alarm on the past 72 days of political dysfunction, government inaction, and democratic backsliding. It was passionate, overdue, and yes—surprisingly powerful.Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards allegedly paid all 18 years of child support up front, and Twitter's men's section celebrated before reading the fine print. Speaking of celebration—Mariah Carey and Anderson .Paak might be a couple now? We didn't have that on the bingo card either. And then there's The Engagement Swindler. One proposal at a Tyler, the Creator concert opened the floodgates, exposing a real-life serial fiancé with seven kids, unpaid child support, stolen rings, and allegedly a very real marriage already in progress. Even Sinbad's daughter caught a stray. We wrap things up a few dad jokes you didn't ask for, but always appreciate.#VirgoSeasonPodcast ----We want to hear from you:Do you agree with The Virgos' responses to the dilemmas? The MCU is once again in the spotlight as major Avengers: The Kang Dynasty leaks have surfaced online—and we're diving into everything we've learned. On today's episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, we break down the original plan for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, its evolution into Avengers: Doomsday, and what it all means for Marvel Phase 5, Secret Wars, and the future of the Multiverse Saga. Marvel Studios seems to have scrapped Kang as the main villain in favor of Doctor Doom—and for good reason. After Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania flopped and Jonathan Majors' legal issues became a major concern, insiders say the studio lost faith in the Council of Kangs storyline. Now, with Stephen McFeely rewriting both Avengers 5 and Secret Wars, and the Russo Brothers returning to direct, the entire direction has shifted. We're breaking down the leaked Kang Dynasty script that includes wild reveals like a Moon Knight team-up, Miles Morales' MCU debut, a Deadpool 3 crossover, and even a Spider-Man: No Way Home reunion. Plus, what role was Doctor Doom supposed to play before becoming the central threat in Avengers: Doomsday? And how does this affect the lead-in to Avengers: Secret Wars? Other stories covered: Captain America: Brave New World nears $200M at the domestic box office. A Working Man dominates Snow White in a surprise upset. Warner Bros. shakeups and early talks of new leadership. First reactions for The Minecraft Movie are in—and they're surprisingly mixed but intriguing. AND — in a massive shift — Warner Bros. has completed the worldwide sale of Coyote vs. Acme to Ketchup Entertainment. Yes, the previously shelved, fan-beloved Looney Tunes film is back! The Wile E. Coyote movie—starring Will Forte, John Cena, and Lana Condor, directed by Dave Green and written by Samy Burch—was shelved for tax reasons despite strong test screenings. But now it's getting a theatrical release in 2026, with Ketchup shelling out close to $50 million for the rights. Produced by James Gunn, this film has become symbolic of Hollywood's internal battles between artistry and cost-cutting. Marvel. DC. Box office drama. Studio shakeups. Leaks. Come for the nerd news—stay for the chaos.
