Jackson is so mad at Wonka that he forgot the golden rule of running a competition: the goal for the company, or in this instance, the man, is to get as much money as humanly possible. Jackson is so hellbent on Charlie becoming Wonka's heir that he has perhaps forgotten that Willy Wonka is a famous dirtbag, liar and exploiter of workers. Perhaps with an incredible record setting year in chocolate sales, Wonka has picked this moment to scarper with all those funds and then give the key to his “fortune” to some stupid child who was too busy sucking down snozzberries to realise he had been scammed. Charlie is a literal child, he doesn't know anything about taxes, shareholders or ROI. Two years down the line, he's going to get a knock on the door while Wonka has disappeared into the wind, laying down on some beautiful island getting his snozzberry slopped off. We'd say not that island, but truth be told, would you be surprised if Wonka's name appeared on a list? Charlie is going to rot in jail. Idiot child. Sony didn't wait long to release the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer we've all been craving and oh, how it delivered! Unsurprisingly, the trailer now holds the record for the most-watched ever, garnering 718.6 million views in a 24-hour period. The new film shows Peter Parker banding together with familiar characters such as Bruce Banner and Frank Castle while he anonymously serves New York City as Spider-Man. Let's not delay - who wants to take a bite out of this big apple first?It's a three-for-one MCU week, with the announcement that a second season of Wonder Man is beginning production, and a title plus release date for the Punisher special presentation. All of the creatives behind Wonder Man are returning for the second season, including Destin Daniel Cretton as director and executive producer. Marvel announced the news with a social media post of the front of the script for the next season. Today, the film studio let us know that the Punisher tv special will be called “One Last Kill,” and is set to drop on May 12 the week after the finale of Daredevil: Born Again season two. So much here to bite off, what are we chewing on the most?Remember how all we can do is rave about Project Hail Mary? Well the box office agrees, as the Ryan Gosling-led film opened to $141 million globally last weekend, with $80.6 of that being domestic. Is any of this? And does it even matter when the rush of the bet is the only thing that feels true? Angela's hearty dish makes quite the impression! Tom Davis is an actor, comedian, podcaster, writer and proud south Londoner. Today on another encore edition of the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are speaking to Donavan Freberg, son of the genius humorist, comedian, advertising executive and writer Stan Freberg. Donavan was a guest we had tried to get on the podcast for quite some time and thankfully he finally agreed to be in the hot seat and we can't thank him enough. Our conversation with Donavan was frank and not always easy but at other times wonderful and whimsical. You'll see what we mean after you take a listen. Our chat with Donavan often started with the almost Wonka-like existence of growing up with a dad who had a fondness for Christmas, often took his son out on adventures late at night and sometimes not requiring him to go to school was part of his daily existence. It was more like a movie or an adventure that most of us ever get to experience in our own childhood When you mom breaks you out of school, you know you are living in rarified heir. We get into that hilarious story and a lot more on this episode. We learn from Donavan that his father was a genius ad man who created some of the funniest, most memorable commercials of the 60s and 70s which garnered him 21 Clio awards, the ad biz's equivalent of the Academy Awards for commercials. We also talk about our Frank Sinatra connection that likely brought us to this interview in some ways. We also learn from Donavan that a very, very rough change took place in his father's life after his mother passed away which is both heartbreaking and remarkable at the same time.
