A 20% appointment show rate might look like a sales failure—until you understand what came before it. This episode examines why sales systems have to be improved one constraint at a time, and why abandoning the process when the next problem appears can erase the progress you've already made. What You'll Learn in This EpisodeWhy a bad metric can still represent meaningful progress. How sales constraints reveal themselves sequentially as the system improves. Why fixing hiring, training, qualification, show rates, discovery, and closing in the right order matters. How quitting when the next constraint appears can create the false belief that outbound sales doesn't work.//Welcome to The Ray J. Hey all, Due to some technical issues, there will not be a podcast this week. We’ll be back next Sunday with a new episode of the podcast. See you next week. The post Sorry, no show this week – 8/3/2026 first appeared on The Tim Corrimal Show.
Oregon is moving to gut its compulsory school attendance laws — and the reason is exactly as infuriating as it sounds. With nearly a third of all students chronically absent, the Oregon Department of Education isn't cracking down. It's proposing to repeal the state's longstanding attendance mandates entirely, replacing enforcement and truancy consequences with a feel-good "performance growth indicator" framework that treats showing up to school as optional feedback data.Senate Bill 315 would eliminate 11 attendance-related statutes, stripping the fines and sanctions that were meant to keep kids in classrooms. The department calls existing law a "compliance" model that creates "tension" with a more supportive approach. Translation: they've given up. Oklahoma is apparently the role model here — a state that already softened its truancy laws — which tells you everything about where Oregon's education establishment thinks the floor is.Governor Tina Kotek has presided over an Oregon school system posting some of the highest chronic absenteeism rates in the country, a collapse that accelerated after 2020 and never recovered. The bureaucratic answer? Reclassify the problem until it disappears on paper. If 33% of kids won't go to school, the progressive solution is apparently to stop caring whether they show up at all.Subscribe to @reasonablenews for daily coverage of Pacific Northwest policy disasters, failed governance, and the common-sense takes you won't find anywhere else. In this episode of the Coleman Associates Innovation Podcast, Amanda Laramie sits down with four leaders from Cherry Health in Michigan to discuss their organization's journey toward truly integrated, whole-person care. What started as an effort to better connect medical and behavioral health services evolved into a broader transformation of workflows, culture, patient access, and team-based care. Cherry Health shares how they redesigned operations, embedded behavioral health consultants, community health workers, nurse care managers, and other team members into primary care workflows, and created a more coordinated approach to serving patients. The results have been significant. Listen for their No-Show rate reduction improvement, how they organically improved their patients per hour as a result of lower No-Shows, how they expanded integrated care to offer patients more services during one visit, and how that impacted their quality and financial stability too. Throughout the conversation, the Cherry Health team discusses both the operational and cultural changes required to make integration successful, including redesigning workflows, clarifying team roles, creating accountability systems, and moving away from a permission-based culture toward one focused on finding ways to meet patient needs.Guests:Bill Joure, Chief Operating OfficerJulee Geib, Director of Practice OperationsCynthia Wagenhofer, Chief Financial OfficerAnna Gerard, Director of Behavioral HealthHost: Amanda Laramie Resources Mentioned:The 4 Disciplines of ExecutionBill Joure references The 4 Disciplines of Execution by Chris McChesney, Sean Covey, and Jim Huling. ...plus the Georgia GOP no-show rodeo & a Wynter-y cold endorsement leaves Mike Collins frozen out.The special session Governor Brian Kemp commanded out of the state legislature didn't yield much for his party (no redrawn maps, no property tax cuts passed onto consumers' sales taxes) but it did yield a mess of an election bill he'll have to sign (we're guessing) to address the looming QR code deadline: according to Marilyn Marks with the Coalition for Good Governance, the bill accidentally mandates razor-thin election margins, the way it's written. Oof. She joined me to explain. - - - Meanwhile, it's officially "general election season" for the 2026 calendar so focus will turn to Rick Jackson v Keisha Lance Bottoms, with statements made by Jackson at an event with a radical anti-abortion voter raising eyebrows. In the comments, he seems to co-sign on eliminating exclusions for incest and rape. - or at least creating new barriers to those exceptions being available to women who learn they're pregnant on or after the six-week ban in Georgia would occur. His being poor at thinking on his feet (there and in a prior televised debate) is likely one reason why Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms is challenging Jackson to no less than three one-on-one forums. ---The alleged killer who stabbed a MARTA passenger weeks ago may receive the death penalty, according to a federal grand jury, writes Rosie Manins at the Atlanta Journal Constitution. That's the story anti-transit, anti-urban folks want you to focus on, and not the fact that MARTA has adequately absorbed twice the usual ridership during the World Cup while running on-time and without incident. All that just proving that a little influx of state and federal support makes MARTA run "smarta."- - - As if there isn't enough to embarrass any Republican with self-awareness, a Georgia GOP rodeo drew "tens" of people (my guess-estimate when you don't count candidates and their surrogates). HA!- - - One more, though! Atlanta-based conservative talk radio host Shelley Wynter (WSB A/FM) had Senator Jon Ossoff on recently - and endorsed the incumbent Senator! Hear the exchange:
