En el '24 Horas' nos interesamos por los aludes en la montaña y como hacer actividades en la nieve de forma segura. Hablamos con Arán, un alpinista que trabaja en un refugio del Pirineo aragonés. Él mismo se encontró ante una avalancha de grandes dimensiones: "Te quedas a merced de lo que pueda pasar allí". También hemos hablado con Baín Gutiérrez, Teniente Jefe de la Guardia Civil en Huesca. Gutiérrez explica que en la montaña "el riesgo 0 no existe" y explica que sí que hay algunos indicios sobre el inicio de una avalancha como "crujidos" o "pequeñas grietas" aunque reconoce que pese haber realizado todo correctamente te puede sorprender un alud.Ambos aconsejan que ante los indicios dar la vuelta: "Que no te pueda el ansía, hay que saber dar marcha atrás" dice Arán. Gutiérrez alerta de la "falsa seguridad en la montaña": "Puedes pasar 300 veces por un sitio y nunca te pasa nada, siempre hay que estar con los 5 sentidos". Su recomendación es también dar la vuelta o cambiar la ruta si se ven indicios en la nieve. Gutiérrez forma parte del GREIM, (Grupos de Rescate e Intervención en Montaña) y su función es, aparte de los rescates, investigar que ha pasado. Apunta que la nieve puede "cambiar en función de minutos" por el efecto del sol o del viento. And indeed it is. We have all seen examples that, by now prove conclusively, that Trump and his advisers are some of the best “tea leaf” readers ever. I honestly think this administration sees the rapid cultural, political, and social deterioration in Europe (Germany, Austria, France, the UK) and other Western nations (Australia and NZ) as harbingers and not one off's. And as such, I believe Trump and his team have concluded that these EU countries have reached a point of no return in every measure that matters. I believe the head butting will, by the end of Trump's term, deteriorate or accelerate to locking horns with former allies and our eventual departure from them as a bloc in favor of the Western Hemisphere as a replacement block. The “Donroe” doctrine says as much. I believe Trump would prefer to capitalize on Geography. That is to say a land mass that stretches from the Arctic circle to the Antarctic circle with North America and South America in between. I believe he sees that as something America can control, protect, and develop. How this will play out, I'm not sure. But I believe he is quietly preparing an exit ramp for our departure from NATO per se. It will be interesting. Por eso, este día es un golpe a nuestra soberbia y comprender que el poder es adictivo y también momentáneo, por lo tanto, no dejes que el poder sea tu presa. 2) Pertenecer: Es importante saber que todos tenemos un sentido de pertenencia, asumir en qué y con quién nos identificamos. Por tanto, no dejes de alimentarte de la gente que te hace bien y esta noche trata de mirar a los que comparten con vos qué pudiste aprender. Saber a dónde perteneces se basa en tener autodisciplina y no andar con caprichos emocionales en la vida. Comprender que yo no soy de nadie y menos un juguete de alguien me ayuda a comprender que soy hijo de Dios y solo eso vale. 3) Pastores: Hay una frase de Mario Benedetti que dice “Cómo me gustaría pasar el resto de mis días con alguien que no me necesite para nada, pero que me quiera para todo”. En esto me encanta pensar en los pastores, porque fueron solo a adorar, no fueron a pedirle a Jesús que les cambie la posición social o un milagro, ellos solo fueron a adorar porque solo querían estar con Él. Adorar es lo que implica esta fiesta, porque Dios se hizo hombre para que el hombre goce de Dios. Algo bueno está por venir.

You know, the longer I've been an investor, the more I realize this simple truth: the biggest threat to your wealth isn't the market… it's your own brain. We're all wired the same way—with instincts that were fantastic for avoiding saber-toothed tigers but are absolutely terrible for making good financial decisions. Take something simple like a marathon. If I asked you to predict next year's top finishers, you'd look at last year's results. That works. Human performance doesn't flip upside down in twelve months. The best runners tend to stay the best runners. There aren't that many variables to consider. When we try to apply that same logic to investing, it often blows up in our faces. There are way too many variables to consider when it comes to market behavior to make simple assumptions. Entire sectors rotate from darling to disaster in a heartbeat. Yet our brains keep telling us, “Hey, this worked last year, surely it'll work again.” In my view, nowhere is that psychological mismatch more obvious than in real estate right now. A few years ago, when real estate was on fire—cheap debt, rising rents, deals getting snapped up before lunch—everybody wanted in. Fast-forward to today. We've had a rate shock. Values have reset. Properties are selling at steep discounts. And Construction starts have fallen off a cliff. Real estate got slaughtered. But look around now. The market has reset. Assets are selling 30 percent below where they did just after Covid. Jobs and population growth in places like the Carolinas, Texas, and Arizona look fantastic, and interest rates are falling quickly. Every macro indicator you can name is pointing to a major buying opportunity—one of the best in the last 15 years. So naturally… few people are paying attention. Markets that are bottomed out are not sexy. If it's not frothy, it's not newsworthy. This is human nature in a nutshell. When assets are expensive and risk is quietly rising, people feel brave. When assets are attractively priced, and future returns look great, people get scared. It's recency bias: assuming whatever just happened will keep happening. It's loss aversion: we fear losing a buck more than we enjoy making one. It's herd behavior: we'd rather be wrong with the crowd than right by ourselves. And of course, it's confirmation bias—where people seek out whatever headlines validate the emotions they're already feeling. It's not logical. It's not strategic. But it is human.
