Candy is a retired, multi-qualified educator of children of all ages. She was diagnosed as highly gifted at 4 and as low support autistic at 63, and has thus had cause to reflect on social challenges all her life. An early reader and a writer of poetry from age 5, she has always loved the power of words. Since retiring from the classroom she has been creating targeted picture books to teach social and emotional skills in early childhood. She firmly believes that this is the best way to save the world from human folly, as our resilience and moral compass are so dependent on our early learning experiences.
