Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for June 4, 2026 is: redolent RED-uh-lunt adjective As a synonym of aromatic, the word redolent can describe something that has a noticeable smell without specifying the scent, but more often it is accompanied by of or with and means “full of a specified fragrance,” as in “redolent with incense.” Redolent can also describe something that causes thoughts or memories of something, as in “music redolent of the 1980s.” // The late-spring meadow was redolent of wildflowers and petrichor. See the entry > Examples: “The store is redolent with the aroma of warm chocolate and an ambience evoking the agricultural roots of cacao with plants and growing tunnels.” — Robert Channick, The Chicago Tribune, 13 Feb. 2026 Did you know? Redolent traces back to the Latin verb olēre (“to smell”) and is a relative of olfactory, “of, relating to, or connected with the sense of smell.” In its earliest English uses in the 15th century, redolent simply meant “having an aroma.” Today, it usually applies to a place or thing permeated with odors. Scent and memory are famously linked, and an extended use of redolent to mean “evocative” or “suggestive” links them again, as in “lollipops redolent of childhood.”

Ken and Lima dissect Todd Monken's surprisingly harsh public comments about Brendan Sorsby, with Lima making a genuinely wild but hard to dismiss point that no NFL head coach in recent memory has ever spoken that negatively about a potential draft pick, and wondering out loud whether Andrew Berry told him to say exactly that to scare off competition in the supplemental draft blind auction. The broader post-trade reality sets in as Ken admits he was completely wrong to think the Browns were trying to compete this year, arguing that trading Myles Garrett is the clearest possible signal that they have zero faith in their quarterback room and everything is pointed at 2027. Ken gives Todd Monken something close to a pass on wins and losses this season but draws the line at the offense, saying after two years of free agency spending, high draft capital, and an offensive head coach, scoring more than 16 points a game is the bare minimum expectation. Tom Pelissero is up next and Ken wants one answer above everything else: how long ago was this trade actually agreed to?

What if the fragrances you're drawn to have less to do with notes and more to do with who you are? In this episode, I sit down with beauty expert, make up artist and Creator Ellen Malone for a fascinating conversation about the emotional and psychological power of scent. We explore how colour can influence fragrance preferences, why certain perfumes become part of our identity, and how scent can be used as a tool for confidence, transformation and self-expression. From treasured vintage bottles and signature scents to fragrance layering and the stories we attach to perfume throughout our lives, this episode is a masterclass in understanding the deeper role fragrance plays in shaping how we feel and how we present ourselves to the world. Whether you're a fragrance collector, a beauty enthusiast or simply curious about why certain scents move you, you'll discover a new way to think about perfume. @askellenbeautyKey Takeaways Colour can be a surprisingly accurate predictor of fragrance preference. Fragrance is often less about smelling good and more about how we want to feel. Scent creates powerful emotional anchors linked to memory and identity. Layering allows fragrance lovers to create something uniquely personal. A signature scent can become part of how others remember us. Perfume is both an emotional ritual and a form of self-expression. Show notes: In this episode, we break down the difference between visually stimulated hounds and those that rely on their nose to work out a track. We look at what it really means when a young pup doesn't bark at live game but shows no fear—and instead chooses to trail what's left behind. We talk about how different dogs process game, common mistakes handlers make (especially trying to force excitement), and why that quiet, thinking pup might actually have more long-term potential than you think. If you've ever questioned whether your pup is behind—or just wired different—this episode will help you see it in a whole new light. This week on 3 Guys and a Flick, we take a first-class trip straight into the heart of 1992's Scent of a Woman. We break down Al Pacino's Academy Award-winning performance as the loud, crude, whiskey-soaked Colonel Frank Slade, alongside Chris O'Donnell's standout turn as Charlie Sims, the kid caught between honor and opportunity. We dig into Martin Brest's direction, the unforgettable score from Thomas Newman, and legendary scenes like the tango, the Ferrari joyride, and that explosive disciplinary hearing finale. Along the way, we trade trivia, crack wise like a bunch of Baird-school degenerates, and decide whether this film still earns its hoo-ah after all these years. Grab a double Jack Daniel's on the rocks, keep your hands off the 900 numbers, and remember… there are only two syllables worth hearing. Hoo-ah!
Chasing gobblers and big whitetails gets a lot easier with the right camera arms, shooting rests, scent control, and blinds. In this Backwoods Life episode, Michael sits down with Joe Coy to talk turkey hunting, deer hunting, and the gear that helps you make more shots count. Joe works with the crew behind Fourth Arrow camera arms, Final Rest shooting systems, Wyndscent scent vaporizers, and Slayer hunting blinds, so we dig into real‑world setups that make self‑filming and steady shooting simpler in the woods. You will hear how Joe sets up for turkeys and deer, how he keeps his rifle and bow rock solid, and how smart scent dispersal and a good blind can turn marginal opportunities into punched tags. If you love chasing turkeys and whitetails and want practical ideas you can use on your next hunt, this episode is packed with stories and tips from the backwoods.

Skin carries a natural, individual scent signature that can subtly shift over time. Research is beginning to explore how much of that shift is driven by biology versus perception. In this episode of The Rogue Pharmacist, Ben Fuchs breaks down the science behind age-related changes in skin scent, including the roles of the microbiome, lipid oxidation, barrier changes, and senescent cells, and discusses how much of what we notice is physiological versus interpretive. Associated Skin Care Professionals (ASCP) presents The Rogue Pharmacist with Benjamin Knight Fuchs, R.Ph. This podcast takes an enlightening approach to supporting licensed estheticians in their pursuit to achieve results-driven skin care treatments for their clients. You can always count on us to share professional skin care education, innovative techniques, and the latest in skin science. In this episode we sit with Sai, one of three co-founders (Sai, Utkarsh and Sachit) behind Rahasya Fragrances, a brand born in Singapore, rooted in India, and slowly making their mark around the world. As it turns out, Rahasya means mystery, not just in Sanskrit, but in Bahasa too; a celebration of the multiple cultures that have shaped their lives. Whether it's delivering their fragrances in dabbas or pulling up to Soho in a rickshaw with a live DJ set, these guys are doing things in their own way, and not asking anyone's permission to do it. We sit with them as they become the first Indian fragrance brand to launch at Selfridges, and with that, marking their official launch in the UK.Chapters(00:00) Introduction to the Rahasya team(03:00) The inception of the brand(04:55) The role of India in niche fragrances(07:40) Luxury brands taking inspiration from South Asian culture(10:05) Collaborating with Gully Labs(13:43) On being design-led without formal training(17:15) Entering the fragrance world(20:00) Using their global reach to build Rahasya(23:20) Leading with story(28:02) Reflections from the London pop-up(33:50) Launching in Selfridges (39:09) Keeping up with momentum(43:04) What's on the horizon for RahasyaFind Rahasya on: Website: https://rahasyafragrances.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rahasyafragrances/Mitali's Kantha jacket is by Fifth Origins:Website: https://www.fifthorigins.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fifthorigins/To be the first to get updates on new episodes, please do give us a subscribe or follow!
What is glamour magic? It’s the practice of consciously working with your own presence, so your most aligned, authentic self comes forward more clearly and consistently. Rooted in Celtic folklore, the Fae were said to cast glamours to alter perception. However, the modern glamour practice I’m going to talk about is not about illusion. This is about being intentional to create alignment between who you are and how you show up in the world. What Is Glamour Magic? The word glamour carries a shimmer to it, something just beneath the surface of ordinary life. Most people think of glamour as external like fashion, beauty, high-end jewelry, or personal presentation. But there’s something deeper here, something far more useful in your real life. Traced back through Celtic folklore, glamour was considered a kind of enchantment. The Fae could cast a glamour to alter perception itself, making something appear more beautiful, powerful, or entirely different than it truly was. It was a kind of energetic artistry that could bend reality with a bit of illusion. Modern glamour practice reclaims that concept, but instead of using it as a pretense, it’s being used here to promote alignment. Think about choosing how you want to show up to match who you are becoming, so your presence is felt more clearly, more consistently, and with far less effort. How to Practice Glamour Magic Glamour practice is built through small, intentional acts that shift both your inner and outer world over time. Here are seven practical methods that you can try. Know that you do not have to do them all. Just choose what appeals most. 1. Use Your Voice Intentionally Why it matters: Your voice and language set the tone for your entire day before anything else happens. Most people use language unconsciously — hedging, softening, second-guessing. But language carries energy. When you choose your words with intention, you shift your internal state, which changes how you feel and how others experience you. How to do it: Replace “I hope” with “I’m choosing” Replace “I’ll try” with “I will” Pause before automatic apologies and decide if they’re actually needed Speak a 20-second identity statement in the mirror each morning. “I move through today with calm confidence. My presence is steady. My words are clear, and people feel that.” When you say this out loud, you’re not wishing. You’re practicing. Your voice becomes a bridge between who you are and who you’re becoming. 2. Consciously Choose Your Scent Why it matters: Scent connects directly to memory, emotion, and mood. It can shift how you feel almost instantly. Instead of choosing a fragrance randomly, assign meaning to what you wear. You might have one scent for confidence, one for calm, one for openness. How to do it: In the morning, decide what energy you want to embody As you apply your scent, breathe it in and set a simple intention: “I carry grounded confidence today” or “I’m stepping into ease and grace” With time, your body associates the scent with that state of being. Wearing it becomes a shortcut to that energy 3. Hold Your Gaze in the Mirror Why it matters: Most people rush past the mirror or avoid their own gaze. Staying there — even briefly — is an act of self-connection that builds inner authority. How to do it: Stand at the mirror and hold eye contact with yourself for 30 to 60 seconds Relax your face, drop your shoulders, and simply be present Say something simple out loud: “I trust myself” or “I am becoming more grounded and at ease” This is where glamour turns inward. You’re not projecting — you’re reinforcing identity. You’ll begin to see yourself differently, and that changes how you move through the world. 4. Create an Anchor Object Why it matters: A physical object worn daily can become a powerful cue for the energy you want to embody. How to do it: Choose something you already wear — a ring, bracelet, or watch Hold it and intentionally connect it with a quality: steadiness, confidence, clarity Say that quality out loud, then wear it as normal Throughout the day, when you touch it, pause and reconnect with that feeling This association strengthens as time passes. It provides a steady support, like a personal talisman but not for luck. It’s for alignment. 5. Use Music to Up Your Vibe Why it matters: Music has a direct and immediate effect on emotional state. One song can shift your mood in seconds. How to do it: As you get ready each morning, play something that matches or elevates how you want to feel Let your body respond, and know that even just a little movement counts This goes beyond listening to embodying a frequency and choosing your state of being rather than waiting for it to arrive 6. Choose Your Daily Story Why it matters: Most people move through life reacting. But underneath every day, there’s a narrative running — and often, it isn’t a kind one. How to do it: Each morning, ask: what kind of day do I want to have, and who do I want to be within it? Choose an energy to hold: confidence, ease, openness, creativity When something unexpected happens, ask: how does the woman I’m becoming move through this? This is where glamour really lives, in your ability to consciously choose your experience and then fully participate in it. 7. How to End of the Day Why it matters: Clearing your energy at the end of the day is just as important as how you begin. Even on a good day, you absorb energy from other people, conversations, and environments. Without releasing it, you carry it forward. How to do it: Wash your hands, step into the shower, or simply pause before bed Imagine the day rinsing away — anything heavy, anything that isn’t yours Say: “My day is complete. I release what I don’t need. I return to myself.” You can also use a smudge stick or palo santo wood to clear your energy Or try an essential oil like Tea Tree or a blend like Purify by doTerra Key Takeaways Glamour magic is about alignment, not illusion. It’s the practice of bringing your most authentic self forward through intentional daily habits. Your voice is your first tool. Language and tone shape your internal state before the day has even begun. Small rituals create lasting shifts. Scent, mirror work, anchor objects, and music are all practical tools for shaping how you feel and how others experience you. Your inner narrative matters most. Consciously choosing the story you tell yourself is the foundation of sustained presence. Close the day with intention. Releasing the energy you’ve accumulated is part of the practice, not optional. Frequently Asked Questions Is glamour magic a form of spiritual practice? It can be, but it doesn’t have to be. This approach is grounded in practical psychology and intentional habit-building. The folklore roots give it context, but the methods work regardless of your spiritual beliefs. How long does it take to see results? Many people notice a shift in their internal state within days. The external changes, like how others perceive and respond to you, typically emerge over several weeks of consistent practice. Do I need any special tools or products? No. Everything described here uses what you already have, such as your voice, your morning routine, a piece of jewelry, and music you enjoy. Intention is the only required ingredient. Can anyone practice glamour magic? Yes. This practice isn’t tied to a particular personality type, aesthetic, or lifestyle. It scales to wherever you are and whatever your day looks like. What if I miss a day? No big deal! You simply begin again. Glamour practice isn’t about perfection, but awareness and intention. Every moment offers an opportunity to reconnect with the energy you want to embody. The post Secrets Of Glamour Magic Revealed appeared first on Intuitive Edge.
On The Scent Podcast Season 7, Episode 36: Classic Scents Remixed & ReinventedChanel N°5 Eau de ToiletteHoused in a redesigned, minimalist (label-free) bottle inspired by the original 1924 silhouette, the classic scent profile is absolutely there (bubbly aldehydes, light florals) but with a modern, more casually dressed feeling. Lighter, more intimate, but with a grounding depth beyond the beloved soapy floralcy, Chanel describes it as: ‘A woody abstract floral fragrance that is powerful and textured – an invitation to discover N°5 in a new light.'Chanel N°5 L'EAU Eau de Toilette‘Less abstract than its forebears, the composition of N°5 L'EAU radiates citrus like sun-drenched honey. Top notes of lemon, mandarin and orange soar skyward with the aldehydes. Like a second wind, you can hear the rustle of flowers. Rose melds with airy jasmine and a new fraction of ylang-ylang, more modern than ever.Behind this floral whirlwind, vetiver and cedar impart a novel dynamism, softened by white musks notes. Never has Nº5 been so natural. So fresh.'Chanel N°5 EAU PREMIÈRE‘A floral, luminous and airy interpretation of N°5. The voluptuousness of Ylang-Ylang from the Comoros blends into the harmonious and delicate facets of May Rose and Jasmine. Aldehydes grant it a unique presence, and the smooth touch of Vanilla and musky notes create an incredibly feminine trail.'Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau de ParfumThe quintessential sun-kissed, tropical blend now offers a more intense hit of sunset in a scent, via creamy coconut, tiare flower, warm amber, and vanilla. They say: ‘More intense. More glow. The unmistakable magic of notes of tiare flower and coconut, paired with notes of amber, sandalwood and vanilla, made even richer.'AERIN Mediterranean Honeysuckle Soleil (Summer Edition)This limited-edition 2026 solar floral fragrance is inspired by sun-drenched Mediterranean beach holidays. It features notes of neroli, monoi flower, and coconut milk, offering a warmer, creamier, and more radiant twist on the original. Founder, Aerin Lauder, says: ‘Mediterranean Honeysuckle Soleil is a radiant twist on our signature fragrance. This limited-edition was inspired by memories of sun-drenched beach days I have spent on the Mediterranean with family and friends. The scent reminds me of warm sun-kissed skin after a day by the sea with its notes of monoi flower, neroli and coconut milk.'DS & Durga Debaser In BloomReimagining the original fig scent with a brighter, creamier profile this version features top notes of raspberry flower and white currant, a heart of white gardenia, a base of musk and the highly intriguing grape soda-like ‘cassette tape' accord. Fascinating and resolutely modern!Founder David Seth Moltz explains: ‘Debaser is a cult favorite D.S. & DURGA fume inspired by my preteen years hanging out with cool older kids. Music was the binding force of the group. I was introduced to many bands, but the Pixies reigned supreme. I remember getting Doolittle on cassette tape. Back then, tapes smelled distinctly of grapey-orange blossom due to a mysterious mixture of polyester, magnetics, and lubricants from which they were manufactured. You would go to your local record shop, get the latest tape, and skate home fast to listen. When you tore off the wrapping, that familiar aroma was like an unconscious precursor to new music.Playing with a perfume formula is like reworking a beloved song. New elements emerge, this version of Debaser renders beauty from the mundane. The nostalgic aroma of tapes amplified with choice fruit and flower notes. It wears easy and gives a perfect spring-to-summer vibration, not unlike the music that inspired it.'Petit Fracas"Play the game of love with Petit Fracas de Robert Piguet eau de parfum. The scent has an audacious air, inspired by our iconic Fracas. Petit is fresh, youthful and feminine, with a playful innocence. Flirtatious and charming, Petit Fracas opens with notes of fresh citrus and pear. At the heart of the scent is a foral with a vintage edge: tuberose and white flowers. Sophisticated, with a touch of whimsy, the base is underscored by the elegance of musk and sandalwood sprinkled with a touch of chocolate."Don't forget it's the brilliant Barnes Fragrance Fair coming up soon! Fragrance is rarely just about smelling good. It sits much closer to memory, identity, even the way we move through the world. In this conversation, Tik Tok Creator and fragrance aficionado Amy Ebell and Bahar unpack scent as both science and storytelling. Amy is the creator of Amy Nose Scents, a platform exploring the psychology, science and culture of scent, from perfume history to the reason certain smells stay with us so deeply. Her content is for people who love fragrance and want to understand why it affects us, what it stirs in us, and why we form such strong attachments to it. You hear how olfaction links directly to the limbic brain, why certain perfumes feel almost like time travel, and how rituals around scent can shift mood, confidence, and presence. What emerges is a clear idea. Fragrance is not an accessory. It is a tool for becoming. One that can be used with intention. Episode #132. In this episode, I sit down with Terry Kezoh and Jeanine Stanislaus, co-founders of S.S.K. (LABS), to talk about what it really looks like to build something from the ground up—while still working full-time. We talk about courage, pivoting from paths that don't fit, and how small steps—those "planted seeds"—can grow into something bigger than you imagined. They share how they turned a shared idea into a fragrance brand rooted in identity, memory, and community. If you've been waiting for the "right time" to start, this conversation is your nudge. You don't have to have it all figured out—just start where you are and stay consistent. This episode will show you that it's possible—one step at a time. Today, we are breaking down Givaudan, the Swiss fragrance and flavor giant hiding in plain sight. I came away from this episode with a new way of seeing the world around me. When you learn that a single company is behind the scent of your shampoo, the taste of your burger, and the smell of your laundry, you start to realize just how much of daily life runs through a company most people have never heard of. I am joined by Jeremie Fastnacht, a fund manager at Banque de Luxembourg Investments based in Luxembourg. We get into what makes Givaudan, Givaudan, starting with its founding in 1895 Zurich and how it quietly became the dominant player in a market most investors overlook. We cover the structure of the flavor and fragrance industry, why switching costs are so remarkably high despite this being a tiny fraction of any client's costs, how the company operates more like a royalty business than a manufacturer, and what the risks look like now that a new management team has taken the helm. Please enjoy this breakdown of Givaudan. Left for Dead: Shipwreck and Treachery in 1812 5 sources·11 April, 2026These sources detail a harrowing historical account from Eric J. Dolan's book, Left for Dead, which recounts a true story of shipwreck and betrayal in the Falkland Islands during the War of 1812. The narrative centers on Charles Barnard, an American sealing captain who attempted to rescue the survivors of the wrecked British ship Isabella, only to be betrayed by the Britishdue to the maritime prize system. Despite Barnard's humanitarian efforts, a British officer named Lieutenant D'Aranda seized Barnard's ship as a prize of war, subsequently marooning a small hunting party on the desolate islands for over 500 days. The texts highlight the extreme survival tactics employed by the abandoned men and emphasize the critical role played by Barnard's dog, Scent, in their hunt for food. Following their eventual rescue, the story concludes with a lengthy legal battle over the captured vessel and the publication of Barnard's personal memoirs. Overall, the sources examine the collision of international conflict and personal greed against the backdrop of an unforgiving wilderness.1. Guest Author: Eric J. Dolin.
