Employing My Lens C.2026 ISBN 978-976-97942-6-9.mp3AbstractThis textual analysis examines the theological, metaphorical, and cultural intersections between photography and biblical interpretation through the interdisciplinary lens of visual culture, media theory, and scriptural exegesis. Drawing upon the perspectives of cultural theory, photojournalism, media arts, and theology, the study explores how photographic concepts such as zoom, focus, exposure, framing, and telephoto compression illuminate biblical interpretation and spiritual perception. Particular attention is given to Matthew 26:35–75 and its symbolic parallels to visibility, fear, identity, witness, and moral exposure. Through exegetical reflection and etymological analysis, this paper argues that photography functions as a compelling hermeneutical framework for understanding revelation, discernment, and human consciousness. Supported by interdisciplinary scholarship, the essay demonstrates that visual media and biblical interpretation share common concerns regarding truth, perspective, memory, and illumination. All things being equal it should be noted that the terms "exegesis," "photography," "theology," "hermeneutics," "visual culture," "Matthew 26," "symbolism," "telephoto lens," and "media studies" are key terms in this academic discourse because they serve as signifiers and signposts, directing the reader through my arguments and emphasizing the main ideas. Additionally, by offering clarity, coherence, emphasis, structure, and organization, this tool improves the overall impact of my work. Crucially, it should be noted that this phrase turns into an efficient keyword that makes work easier to find for other researchers studying related subjects. This is especially helpful for online publications or research archives. The University of Melbourne supports this viewpoint.Dr. William Anderson Gittens, D.D.Podcast 294 Employing My Lens: An Exegetical, Etymological, and Metaphorical Exploration of Photography, Scripture, and Perception © 2026  ISBN 978-976-97942-6-9  Dr. William Anderson Gittens, D.D Devgro Media Arts Services Publishing®2015 In collaboration with iMovie present Podcast 294 Employing My Lens: An Exegetical, Etymological, and Metaphorical Exploration of Photography, Scripture, and Perception © 2026  ISBN 978-976-97942-6-9   RECOGNITIONSI am incredibly appreciative of the Creator's hand that has guided me every step of the way as I pause to consider my path. Academic Impact Podcast 293 © 2026 ISBN 978976975207.mp3Abstract This study examines the linguistic landscape of first-century Palestine to analyze the languages spoken by Jesus of Nazareth. Drawing from historical, biblical, and etymological evidence, it identifies Aramaic as Jesus' primary spoken language, Hebrew as the liturgical and scriptural medium, and Greek as a secondary language for broader communication. Biblical passages containing Aramaic expressions, Hebrew scriptural readings, and Greek interactions are examined. This investigation highlights the multilingual environment in which Jesus lived, providing insight into the transmission of his teachings and the interpretation of the New Testament.Dr. William Anderson Gittens,D.D.Podcast 293 The Languages of Jesus Linguistic and Bibilical Perspectives.  God Is Moving in Barbados: Baptisms, Breakthroughs, and Bold Faith with Dwayne Blai What happens when a church begins to pray boldly—and God starts answering in real time? In this powerful missionary update, Dwayne Blai shares what God is doing right now in Bridgetown, Barbados—and it's nothing short of remarkable. From unexpected financial provision across the globe… to multiple baptisms led by rising disciples… to answered prayers for leadership, growth, and even healing in his own family—this is a story of momentum, faith, and God "showing off." The church isn't just growing—it's coming alive.  What God Is Doing Right Now  Unexpected Provision A disciple in Australia gave $3,000 USD to support international missions—fueling the training of two campus ministry leaders. Even more support has been pledged, opening the door for extended training and future leaders.  The mission is gaining real traction.  5 Baptisms in One Month Five people were baptized this month—four in just one week. Even more powerful? Dwayne and Tsega didn't lead most of the studies.  Disciples are stepping up.  The church is multiplying itself.  A Future Leader Emerges After persistent prayer for a strong female campus leader, God answered. A young woman made the courageous decision to follow Christ—despite opposition from her entire family. She is: Brave Humble Outward-focused Hungry to grow And she's already being personally discipled by Tsega.  Leadership is being raised from within.  Young Professionals Are Coming The church has been praying for committed young professionals—men with stability, transportation, and a heart to give. Now? There are more men to study with than time allows.  A new wave is forming.  Explosive Demographic Growth One long-term goal:  20% of the church under age 40 by 2028 Current reality?  Almost 25% already.  The future is arriving faster than expected.  A Personal Miracle Dwayne's youngest son had been suffering from severe migraines—so intense he couldn't function normally. After a large group prayed… Within days, everything changed.  He's now waking up, going to school, and living normally again. No explanation. Just God.  Key Takeaway When a church prays boldly, steps out in faith, and invests in people… God moves. God provides. God transforms. And sometimes—He does it faster than you ever imagined.  About the Mission Dwayne and Tsega Blai are leading a growing, revitalized church in Bridgetown, Barbados—raising up disciples, leaders, and a new generation of believers in the Caribbean.  Connect with the Blais Dwayne Blai  dwayneblai@gmail.com  246-289-1822 Tsega Blai  tsegablai@gmail.com  246-289-1823  Listen + Share If this update encouraged your faith, share it with someone who needs to see what God is doing around the world.  Follow for more stories that help you live a no-regrets life, make this life count, and multiply your faith.

Revelation 19v6-7 with Tyler Staton How do our bodies and our sexuality fit into the larger story of God's redemption? This teaching traces the biblical story from creation to resurrection, showing how our bodies were designed to reveal God's beauty, how sin distorted that design, and how Jesus restores it. In the way of Jesus, our desires are not something to ignore or indulge, but something to be redeemed and directed toward the deeper love we were made for. Bridgetown.church/teaching

Send me a messageIn this week's episode of Climate Confident, I sit down with Emily Wilkinson, Principal Research Fellow at ODI Global and Director of the Resilient and Sustainable Islands Initiative (RESI), to explore one of the most pressing and least discussed frontlines of the climate crisis: small island developing states (SIDS).These 39 nations, scattered across the Caribbean, Pacific and Indian Ocean, contribute less than 1% of global emissions yet face the most existential threats, from rising seas and saltwater intrusion to increasingly frequent Category 5 hurricanes. Emily explains why Dominica's 2017 disaster, damage equivalent to 226% of its GDP, was a turning point, sparking its bold ambition to become the world's first climate-resilient nation. We also dive into the financial side of resilience. Emily outlines groundbreaking tools such as climate-resilient debt clauses, debt-for-nature swaps, and pooled insurance schemes, innovations that give vulnerable economies breathing space after disasters. She shares examples of islands turning challenges into opportunities, like converting invasive sargassum seaweed into clean biogas, deploying floating solar in lagoons, and tapping geothermal energy beneath volcanic islands. We discuss the Bridgetown Initiative spearheaded by Mia Mottley, which is reshaping global climate finance debates, and how small island leaders are punching above their weight on the international stage. If you want to understand why SIDS are both the most vulnerable and the most innovative actors in the climate fight, and what their experiments can teach the rest of us, this is an episode you won't want to miss.Listen now to hear how small islands are rewriting the rules of resilience. Also check out Emily's podcast - Small Islands, Big PicturePodcast supportersI'd like to sincerely thank this podcast's amazing subscribers: Ben Gross Jerry Sweeney Andreas Werner Stephen Carroll Roger Arnold And remember you too can Subscribe to the Podcast - it is really easy and hugely important as it will enable me to continue to create more excellent Climate Confident episodes like this one, as well as give you access to the entire back catalog of Climate Confident episodes.ContactIf you have any comments/suggestions or questions for the podcast - get in touch via direct message on Twitter/LinkedIn. Episode 517 - Carolyn Nicholson - Stories From the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands - A land full of fairies, witches, water monsters, ghosts, and other supernatural creaturesCarolyn was born in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, worked in the health information management field, taught in post-secondary education, and was in ministry in The United Church of Canada. After her retirement, she began researching her ancestors; after many years she discovered her Nicolson ancestors were from the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands, and she began to visit Skye with her sisters. Skye, she learned, was always full of fairies, witches, water monsters, ghosts, and other supernatural creatures. As a project for her small writers' group, she wrote a 1,200-word story about fairies, witches, etc., then decided to play some more with what she had written. In time, this became a larger and larger story. Carolyn decided to take a course offered by the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia on how to write a children's story. Then, daring to believe the story might be worth publishing, she contacted OC Publishing and the rest, as they say, is history.Wishes sometimes do come true, and Carolyn's wish would be that this little story might bring happiness and pleasure to children and that they might come to love little Magaidh and her friends and family as much as she does. Book: The Last Witch on SkyeThe Ban the Witches and Fairies (BW&F) Party has chased all the supernatural creatures out of the Isle of Skye. Only Magaidh, a young witch, remains, hiding in a castle disguised as a cat. But she and the Queen of the Fairies have a plan to rescue the Fairy Flag, allowing the fairies and Magaidh to return to Skye. As Magaidh resumes her business, Spells, Inc., she thinks about getting revenge on the BW&F Party, but the Fairy Queen suggests that peace would be a better plan. While Magaidh considers which it will be, peace or revenge, her business allows her to help the people of Skye with love potions and spells to reverse the troublesome effects of fairy arrows. She and her two fairy friends, Sean and Iain, go on many adventures together, including rescuing a baby Welsh dragon; dealing with Big Blue Donald, a ghost; and befriending a baby water horse they name Calum. In the process, Magaidh finds out why she is different from her siblings, who force her to choose revenge!https://carolynnicholson.ca/https://ocpublishing.ca/carolyn-nicholsonSupport the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca

Today we're joined by LA Times food reporter Stephanie Breijo to discuss a brand new petition LA restaurateurs are bringing to city and state lawmakers. Stephanie has been on the frontlines of covering the tough time restaurants have been having over the last couple of years, and she actually joined the restaurateurs as they ventured to City Hall to meet with lawmakers and make their requests known. But the million dollar questions are - what are they asking for, and will it actually help? Listen to find out. In Part 2, it's my conversation with James Beard semfinalist Chef Rashida Holmes of Bridgetown Roti. I visited Chef Rashida at her acclaimed Carribean restaurant to learn about her journey from pop-up to brick and mortar. We wound up talking about a laundry list of enticing topic, including why there's a dearth of Carribean food in LA and what she's hoping lawmakers will do to ease the burden on small business owners like herself. And what she thought of the Luka Doncic trade as a dedicated Mavs fan! Helpful Links:Breijo on LA restaurants' petition https://www.latimes.com/food/story/2025-02-06/la-chefs-restaurateurs-petition-lawmakers-for-supportBreijo on IG https://www.instagram.com/breij/?hl=enBridgetown Roti https://www.bridgetownroti.com/Chef Rashida on IG https://www.instagram.com/chefrashidaholmes/?hl=enEater on sexy restaurants https://www.eater.com/24363702/sexy-restaurant-date-night-design?_gl=1*doavp3*_ga*NTY3MzcwNDY5LjE2Nzk1MzY5MTc.*_ga_GMSWCRTSTY*MTczOTQxMDMxNC4yODkuMS4xNzM5NDEwNjg2LjI1LjAuMA..Breijo and Danielle Dorsey on supper clubs https://www.latimes.com/food/list/best-supper-clubs-restaurants-live-music-los-angeles–Go check out The Lonely Oyster in Echo Park! https://thelonelyoyster.com/–Get 10% off at House of Macadamias using code "LAFOOD" https://www.houseofmacadamias.com/pages/la-foods
