We're in Dublin for this week's edition of the Local Selection, brought to you by a hugely talented DJ and producer, Dave Jackson aka Air Jackson, as he contributes just over an hour of breaks, electro, garage, house and techno cuts for our latest mix. Air Jackson's first-ever release, 'Orion,' was championed by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. Since then, the Dublin based artist hasn't looked back. He has continued to serve up masterfully melodic sounds that explore the cross-section between house, techno and a multitude of different electronic genres. He has played festivals and clubs across Ireland, Ibiza, France and the Netherlands. He has also established his own Ten One Records as a contemporary leader when it comes to music rich in melody. And all this has happened in just a couple of years. As a DJ and live performer, the former Amsterdam resident knows how to traverse genres, finding exciting, unpredictable links as he goes. From DnB to house, techno to breakbeat, he roams free, but often ties his selections together with an all-important melody. "I'm genre-fluid," he says, "if I like it, I'll make it." The emotions Jackson's melodies bring, whether hopeful and optimistic or tense and dark, are very much what define his signature sound. To date, the influential likes of Groove Armada, Anthony Pappa, DJ Heather, Colin Dale and DJ Caspa have all been playing and supporting the three EPs that he has released on Ten One Records, with plenty more to come. This summer Air Jackson will serve up 'Chemistry,' [Soon to be premiered with us] a thrilling debut album that showcases the breadth and depth of his sound in all its glory. Alongside this, he will continue to search out and sign the best new music from both established and emerging artists, and continue to serve up scintillating melodic grooves. Whack this mix on and let Air Jackson soundtrack your Wednesday afternoon. This mix is a dream. For 53rd Avenue Red Podcast we present a deep, grooving, soulful mix from Mr. Shadow (real name Mark McFarlane), the man behind the London House cult known as "The Brotherhood Of House". Mark's show runs on Deepvibes Radio and has had some great guests featured, including Avenue Red's Alec Pritchard (https://soundcloud.com/alecpritchard/the-brotherhood-of-house-034-alec-pritchard). The rest is from Mark himself, hope you all dig the selection! "Being asked to contribute a mix to this immense series has been an honour & hopefully lives up to the very high standards set by the past contributors that have graced this series. I try not to pre-plan my mixes & this one was no different. A lot of my stuff is solidly rooted in the old-school but also appreciating the new as a means to cover a wide spectrum of the House sound in a way that flows. Kicking off with two stone-cold classics from Logic & Mood ll Swing, the mix moves onto some newer cuts that I'm personally feeling at the moment, including Angelo Draetta & Luigi Egitto's “Frozen Eyes” on SP Recordings, also Cocoared's "Funk'N EvaMo" (Only Essence Re-Grooves) on Vital Grooves. A big highlight for me was being able to include two tracks from around '94 that I have never quite managed to incorporate into a set before: The Beloved's "1000 Years From Today" (Todd Edwards Remix) and one for the true veterans at the end - Da Cuban Heelz's "Da Theme". Hopefully you enjoy this mix as much as I enjoyed mixing it for this wonderful podcast series. I run a Radio show on Deepvibes Radio called The Brotherhood Of House. The whole ethos of the group/show/events are about promoting that House movement vibe which is severely lacking in today's industry. The shows attempt to showcase lesser-known but non the less talented DJ's & Producers to give them a platform to be heard alongside some very established names, such as Harold Heath, Daniel Ward, Roland Nights, Dweller, DJ Caspa, Dudley Strangeways & many many more." Compiled & mixed by DJ Caspa (London) Soundcloud | @tundecas41 RA | http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/djcaspa Always diggin' deeper and deeper, Electrocorp invites the respected DJ Caspa for this 53th episode. Raised in London, DJ Caspa has been playing records since the late 80's and his vinyl collection reflects decades of dance music. He has worked with many of London's leading pirate stations including Pressure FM, Magic FM, and Rinse FM before it was granted licensing, and is considered as a true veteran of the underground, championing new producers such as Applebottom and Liam Geddes. We're really excited to welcome him on this mix blending lots of recent Deep-House cuts and uncovered experimentations and jazzy House gems from the likes of Imyrmind, Max Graef, Glenn Astro, Fouk and many more. *Cover picture by Eddie O'Keefe: http://www.eddieokeefe.com/ Please credit if you're sharing this mixtape.

Some would better recognise Caspa for his long standing residency with London base party hub, Percolate. Others may be familiar with the early radio work he was part of in the early 90s playing at stations including, Pressure Fm, RinseFm, De-javu & Unknown Fm. With over two decades of experience behind the turntables, Caspa is without a doubt one of the most diverse taste makers on the circuit. With influences that cross genres of Garage, Jungle, House, Techno and everything in between, his sets are never boring! Enter. DJ Caspa
BTTF_POD004 James Winter Originally from arguably one of the best clubbing destinations in the UK - Leeds, James has made house music his life and pretty much everything he thinks about since he was in his early teens. He has played some of the biggest and best venues in England; Sankeys, The Lightbox in London, The Garage (Voted UK's best small club 2012), Mint Warehouse, The Warehouse, Stinkys (Backtobasics, the longest running weekly house night in the world), Wire and The Mint Club who has seen the likes of Sven Vath, Ricardo Villalobos, Ellen Allien, Shonky, Dyed Soundorom, the list goes on. James has achieved in five years, what some DJ's could hope only hope to accomplish in that small timeframe. He first discovered his love for the rave scene after attending "WaxOn" back in 2008 in Leeds, England, hearing Brodinski, who was the first dance music related DJ he started listening to. After this passion spawned for house music, James started discovering new DJ's, labels, meeting all the people that mattered in the house scene and eventually started playing gigs in and around Leeds in early 2010. In 2011, he entered UK's "Movida Corona" DJ competition which saw him get the the UK final at the Ministry Of Sound in London, playing to literally thousands of house music fans. It earned James a column in the Yorkshire evening post and a mention in UK's Mixmag. Co-running his own night IN:VISION in Leeds, which is now well established in the UK house scene, it saw him play with the likes of FRANCK ROGER, JORDAN PEAK, ADAM SHELTON and more, as well as building a plethora of contacts which were put to good use in the months to follow. Amidst all this progress, James was asked to be a new resident for APOGEE presents...in London. This helped to establish his name down south and to be able to play with the likes of HOT SINCE 82, WAIFS & STRAYS, AUDIOJACK and many others. James now has two releases through Luke Pompey's label Love Not Money Records and two other releases through both Dudley Strangeways label Back To The Future Records and Farfan Deep's label Underground Lovers Records which have received support from Grant Nelson, DJ Caspa, Hector Morales and Subb-an to name a few.
For our first podcast of 2013, we bring you this brilliant mix from Taneli. With his tracks receiving support from the likes of B Traits on Radio 1 and DJ Caspa on Rinse, 2013 looks set to be a very big year for the young Preston-based producer and DJ. This mix definitely supports that claim. Highlights include the classic rolling vibes of A Lister - Needing and an elusive acid based number from an unknown producer (who should reveal himself so we can all shake his hand and offer him a pat on the back). An excellent soundtrack to any 50 minute activity or relaxaton period, this mix of some great house music is a fantastic way to start off the podcast in 2013. Largin’ up the Taneli.
