Why Your Podcast Isn't Growing: A Get More Listeners Podcast For Podcasters
Are you building a podcast but not seeing the growth or income you hoped for? After coaching entrepreneurs and experts for over 1,000 hours, we've uncovered the three most common mistakes podcasters make and the simple shifts that transform a show into a reliable $10K/month growth engine.Too many creators rely on luck, chase celebrity guests, or stay vague about their audience. In this episode, we reveal what actually works to grow and monetize your podcast consistently. Here's what you'll walk away with:A proven 3-step sales system (Discovery, Nurture, Conversion) that generates clients straight from your podcast. Why interviewing “big-name guests” is overrated — and what to do instead for real growth. How defining your who, what, and promise can instantly sharpen your message and accelerate monetization. If you want clarity, consistency, and cash flow from your podcast, this episode is your roadmap.
Send us feedback/questions via TextHow do you find guests when your podcast covers extremely niche topics? It's a challenge many creators face, especially when starting out. Dave Jackson and Jim Cullison tackle this question head-on, providing practical strategies that go beyond the standard advice. Rather than endless online searching, they suggest going directly to where your potential guests gather, leveraging existing connections, and most importantly, asking current guests for recommendations. The episode takes a heartfelt turn as the hosts pay tribute to podcasting pioneer Todd Cochran, founder of Blubrry, who recently passed away. Todd's unwavering commitment to open RSS, transparent business practices, and advocacy for podcasters has left an indelible mark on the industry. Through personal anecdotes and reflections, Dave and Jim highlight how Todd's principled approach to business and genuine care for the podcasting community set a standard that continues to influence the medium today.Sponsors:PodcastBranding.co - They see you before they hear youBasedonastruestorypodcast.com - Comparing Hollywood with History?Video VersionMentioned In This EpisodeSchool of Podcastinghttps://www.schoolofpodcasting.com/joinPodpagehttp://www.trypodpage.comHome Gadget Geekshttps://www.homegadgegeeks.comWant more shows from Dave? As we head into Labor Day weekend, I'm flexing one of my superpowers: organizing information. In this episode of The Pharmacist's Voice Podcast, I share the story behind my book binder — a simple but powerful system that helps me keep track of dozens of book recommendations and the 20–30 books I read each year. You'll hear how I went from barely finding time to read as a busy mom to becoming an audiobook enthusiast with a binder full of possibilities. I'll also share 26 books currently on my “to be read” list (plus the Spy School series I'm enjoying with my son Kraig). Maybe you'll discover your next great read from this podcast episode! Even if books aren't your thing, you'll walk away with this takeaway: what makes you weird might actually be your superpower. For me, it's organizing information. For you, it could be something else entirely — and when you embrace it, life gets easier, less stressful, and more fun. You just might help other people too!

With 2018's Vampyr, Don't Nod took a swing a narrative, decisions-matter action RPG, and while I liked Vampyr a lot, the decisions-matter part of it left a lot to be desired. Five years later, they took another swing at that type of game with Banishers, and really righted that specific area. Decisions matter in Banishers in a way they don't matter in most games, and it led to one of the most effective stories I've played in a while. Coming back from Podcast Movement, I've got a story that really drives home the point that nothing beats face-to-face networking. I mean, sure, we can all hop on Zoom and pretend we're connecting, but when you're actually sharing a meal with someone or just hanging out, that's where the magic happens. It's like the difference between texting your buddy and grabbing a beer – one is okay, but the other is where real connections are made. And let's be honest, who doesn't want to make meaningful connections while stuffing their face with overpriced convention center food?Takeaways: Networking in person is way better than any online stuff, seriously, just trust me. Most podcasters are totally wasting their listeners' time with a simple fix in editing. Chapters are a cool tool to help listeners skip to what they actually want to hear. If you want your podcast to grow, you might need to jump into the Podcast Hot Seat. Cutting out unnecessary parts of interviews can save time and keep listeners happy, who knew? The only difference is that we seem to fully know the full depths of previous games like Animal Well, Outer Wilds, Fez, Tunic, etc....but nobody knows how deep Blue Prince goes.
