In this tribute to the Anchorite phenomena I focus on some "Faction Action" during play of Mutant Year Zero - Genlab Alpha whilst reminiscing on the end of an Era. Awesome called in contributions from Jason Hobbs (Random Screed), Barry Robertson (A Song of Dice & Shadows), Ben Milton (Questing Beast), Frank Turfler and Jason Connnerly (Nerd's RPG Variety Cast). The intro music used in this episode "Tortured Heart" was written and performed by Frank Clark and is edited and used with his express permission. A big part of what makes this show special is the community of discovery that has grown up around it - through the blog comments, emails, Discord messaging, Patreon support, and podcast call-ins. You, the listeners, are what make working on the show a joy and about 80% of the reason that I keep recording and editing episodes.Every call-in gets saved but not every call-in has space in the regular episodes, so every now and again I like to scoop up the messages and present them back as a special Call-in Collective show. Many thanks to Evil Jeff from Minions and Musings for both the idea and name of the Call-in Collective. Thanks to Brian from I'll Have To Look That Up, Jason from the Nerd's RPG Variety Cast, Jason Wiebe, Arlen Walker of Live From Pellam's Wasteland, and Frank Turfler for the call-ins today. Diving head first into an experimental approach which seeks to open up discussion around some pretty big questions that relate to our tabletop roleplaying game passion. Today's question was chosen simply by way of piloting the format. We are hoping that listeners will call in and suggest new and better questions for our panel to answer. What's that, I hear you ask, a panel? Yes, today I want to begin what we hope will become a once per month episode featuring three different voices answering the same big question. The panel consists of Frank Turfler from Frank T.'s Liner Notes, Paris Conte - formerly of the Wild Die Podcast, and myself. Game on! I talked about Savage Worlds back in Season 2, Episode 6 when I spoke about Five Games that I'd recommend everyone at least take a good look at. With my recent focus on creating a multi-genre campaign, something which I believe Savage Worlds would excel at delivering, I decided to talk to someone whose been not just using the game but also writing for it.Frank Turfler been playing tabletop RPGs for at least 35 years and is the voice behind Frank T's Liner Notes, an Anchor podcast in which he shares what he's up to with Print and Paste Tabletop Terrain, Techniques, Theory, and other things Tabletop RPG related. Frank creates modular tile-sets that can be printed and assembled in just about any configuration to match the encounter you need, and he releases these through his Patreon. Frank also offers his work through DriveThruRPG under the Middle Kingdoms Adventure & Trading Company. A percentage of all proceeds from his titles goes to the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation, which has care centers all across Arizona, USA.
