POPULARITY
Welcome back to another episode of Festival Pass Stories Podcast, hosted by Pat Tully and presented by Dos Hombres. We have a very special guest this week, friends. It's our pleasure to introduce writer, actress, producer, and comedian, Jenny Zigrino. Her undeniable talent as a writer and producer has pushed her career to new heights as well, and she is now on the brink of stardom. Jenny has been an active stand-up comedian for the past five years, and she is still going strong. Jenny has been a reoccurring guest on the popular late night show “Conan”, and placed 2nd on the Wayans Bros. “Funniest Wins”. Her impressive list of credits also includes “Comedy Central Stand Up Featuring,” “Comedy Central Stand Up Presents,” and the television show “Punchline”. Jenny's impressive run on the stage and TV has allowed her to showcase her gift as an actress on the big screen. You have seen her in the films “Too Late”, “Bad Santa 2”, and “50 Shades of Black”. Perhaps her most impressive work has been her creation of the awesome show, “Badass Bitches of History”, where she also was the host. You can check out the show on the streaming platform Paramount+. Jenny has been a guest on “MTV's Girl Code”, “Adam Ruins Everything”, and has been featured on FOX, TruTV, Oxygen, and TBS. We are all about live events on FPS, and Jenny loves them too. She continues to crush stages around the country like the “badass babe” she is. The pandemic has allowed her to refine her craft, and prepare for her biggest performance yet. This week at the New York Comedy Festival, Jenny will be taping her one-hour comedy special and album recording, “Jen Z” in Littlefield, Brooklyn on Sunday November 14th. Shows start at 6:30PM & 9:00PM. Admission is free, so go to her website for a ticket before they are sold out! Like our previous guests on Festival Pass Stories, we will be watching closely as Jenny Zigrino's star gets bigger and bigger. Her charm, wit, and impeccable crowd-work makes her shows a must see. It's not like therapy, it's just talking to other people who also know what I'm going through. They are laughing because they relate to it." - Jenny Zigrino Catch the interview on Festival Pass Stories! https://festivalpass.com/stories Resources: Jenny Zigrino's Website: http://www.jennyzigrino.com Jenny Zigrino's Twitter: https://twitter.com/jennyzigrino Jenny Zigrino's IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4103945/ Jenny Zigrino's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jennyzigrino/ Connect with Festival Pass! #MCM (Matt McManus) is a versatile artist, actor / rapper based in LA. He hails from Long Island, NY, but has been in LA for eight years now. Matt was one of Youtube’s First personalities as his character The Chad in the infancy of YT, and has been on TV shows like TBS’s “Funniest Wins” hosted and produced by Marlon Wayans, next to such stars as Tiffany Haddish. He as well is a Ru Paul’s Drag Race Winner, as his character Fuchsia Luzon. Matt has been in the media for many years with his own brand and content, but he has just dropped his first music project, and it’s a piece that’s equal parts serious and silly, geared towards young adults. It gives them tools and insight into ideas, such as being yourself, being ok, and growing up. He has written short form kids books to accompany these songs, and the brand is growing fast. Today on the Neil Haley Show, The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Marlon Wayans of NBC's Marlon. Wayans is commonly recognized for his role in the 2004 hit comedy "White Chicks," opposite Shawn Wayans, Jamie King and Terry Crews. The film was directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and grossed $69 million in the U.S. He also starred alongside Shawn Wayans and Regina Hall in the horror comedy spoof films "Scary Movie" and "Scary Movie 2," directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans. Wayans' additional film credits include "Mo' Money," "Above the Rim," "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood," "The 6th Man" "Senseless," "Dungeons & Dragons," "Requiem for a Dream," "The Ladykillers," "Behind the Smile," "Little Man," "Norbit," "Dance Flick," "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, "Marmaduke" and "The Heat." On the small screen, Wayans hosted the NBC show "I Can Do That," a comedy/variety series where six celebrities are asked to put on an entertainment show with skills they didn't even know they had. He also starred in and created the TBS comedy competition series "Funniest Wins." Additionally, Wayans has appeared on several popular television programs, including "In Living Color," "Childrens Hospital," "Second Generation Wayans" and the WB's "The Wayans Bros."
We invited the very pleasant Key Lewis (@keylewis, Marlon Wayans TBS’s Funniest Wins, Starz TV) to watch the Season 3 finale of the Golden Girls with us, hooray! It was the one where Sophia and Blanche start dating the same Cuban fella, meanwhile Rose tries to get her GED. We talked about waffle cones, inner tubes and making out with Eva Braun. Music by Mike Dennison (@mikd33) and Brian Kokernak (@kokernutz).
You may know Sydney Castillo already. If you don't yet, you will. He won the inaugural season of Marlon Wayans' comedy competition, "FUNNIEST WINS" on TBS. He was hand picked by Keenen Ivory Wayans to be a cast member for the "IN LIVING COLOR" reboot that stalled before it made it to the air. He even had aspirations to move to Hollywood from Ft. Worth, Texas to take the MODELING world by storm. Yes, you read that correctly. He 100% believed that he might be the next Tyson Beckford. Sydney is driven to succeed and has the talent to continue making his dreams a reality, even as an outspoken advocate for people with "Regular Bodies". Between Ian Edwards, Chris Spencer, Dean and even Kev Hart, he's had some stern mentors in comedy who always pushed him to focus and work harder. Straight Outta the ATC Studios in Hollywood, we present to you, this Futhamucka', Sydney Castillo. We are in The Building, son!
