El Comité de Relaciones Exteriores del Congreso peruano declaró "persona non grata" a la presidenta de México, Claudia Sheinbaum, por sus declaraciones públicas en defensa del expresidente Pedro Castillo, acusado de intentar un autogolpe de Estado en 2022. Con 12 votos a favor y 6 en contra, el Comité de Relaciones Exteriores del Congreso peruano tomó esta decisión en un nuevo episodio de una larga crisis bilateral entre México y Perú, señaló a RFI Óscar Arévalo, internacionalista en la Pontificia Universidad del Perú. "Es una disposición simbólica, una raya más al tigre de una mala relación [entre ambos países] que viene desde hace varios años. Actualmente no hay embajador mexicano en Perú ni embajador peruano en México. La relación se mantiene a nivel diplomático solo con encargados de negocios. Todo ello a raíz del intento de autogolpe del entonces presidente Pedro Castillo, quien había tejido una relación estrecha con el expresidente mexicano Andrés Manuel López Obrador, que lo defendió permanentemente. Luego llegó Sheinbaum a la presidencia y ella ha seguido prácticamente la misma línea de su antecesor", explicó Arévalo. Perú, relaciones turbulentas no solo con México  El experto subrayó que México no es el único país con tensiones diplomáticas con Perú. "La política exterior del gobierno de Dina Boluarte es igualmente turbulenta con otros vecinos de la región. Perú enfrenta serias dificultades en su relacionamiento regional y es visto como un país muy inestable. En los últimos ocho o nueve años hemos tenido seis presidentes. Este gobierno, en particular, genera mucha preocupación. Hay cuestionamientos en materia de democracia y derechos humanos, lo que provoca desconfianza en la región. Más allá de los problemas con México y Colombia, derivados de la detención de Castillo, tampoco hay una relación sólida con Bolivia, con Chile es bastante fría, como también con Brasil. Eso explica el interés de la política peruana en abrir puertas fuera de la región. Hemos visto en los últimos tiempos un repentino interés en India, Indonesia o Japón, países a los que no les preocupa tanto, o no les interesa demasiado, la situación de la democracia y los derechos humanos bajo el gobierno de Boluarte”, concluyó Arévalo. Las elecciones previstas en 2026 podrían redefinir el escenario político peruano y abrir la puerta a un giro en sus relaciones diplomáticas.

Born and raised in working-class neighborhoods of Orange County, Castillo's perspective is deeply rooted in the lived realities of the region—its immigrant histories, economic divides, and the architectural patchwork that defines its suburbs. Trained as a film-based photographer, she has evolved her practice to merge photography, sculpture, and installation, creating works that slow the act of looking and demand sustained engagement. Her use of reclaimed materials and references to site-specific histories reframes the photographic image as an object in dialogue with its environment. Castillo traces her influences to classic cinema, the New Topographics photographers, and the conceptual rigor she developed in community college and at UCLA. Through these intersecting frameworks, she examines the formal language of geometry, light, and tonality while embedding questions of class, labor, and urban change. From photographing the quiet interventions of working-class residents in limited outdoor spaces, to producing large-scale installations that reference architecture, demolition, and construction, Castillo captures the poetics of transition—whether in a falling roof shingle or the shifting demographics of a neighborhood. The conversation traverses the sensory memory of California light, the politics of housing and displacement, and the role of critique in art education. Castillo speaks candidly about her commitment to making the work she wants without bending to external pressures, and the importance of artist-to-artist support networks in sustaining a creative practice. Her current exhibition, The Return, is on view at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles through August 31, with additional work featured in the group show Back to the Earth at Roberts Projects. The concept from restaurateur Darryl Simmons will offer baked mac and cheese, chicken done three ways (jerk, curry, stew) and Caribbean-inspired cocktails — with some live jazz thrown in for good measure.Moving from Center Street to 3rd Street, the popular food hall just got a new tenant in Bebe Zito, the Minneapolis-based burger/ice cream joint from Ben Spangler and former MIAD student Gabriella Grant. When you stop by the new stall at the 3rd Street Market Hall, expect burgers (obviously), chicken sandwiches and ice cream flavors that can get a little unconventional.We also got another grand opening from a place we've talked about on the pod before: Summer of '85, the flashback-themed bar/restaurant on MLK Drive that features a patio, arcade, DJ booth and menu with plenty of nods to the 1980s. Durante una caceria había accidentalmente atravezado con su lanza a su tio el conde de poitier, y el peso del crimen lo hundía en la desesperación. La luna llena filtraba su luz entre los robles del bosque , y el viento parecía murmurar palabras antiguas que sonaban a recriminación por aquel crimen. Allí en medio del bosque vio algo que parecía una mujer. Al acercarse la vio con más detalles y sus ojos no podían creer lo que tenían al frente: una mujer de cabellos dorados como el trigo maduro, piel pálida como la niebla, y ojos que brillaban con un fulgor azul profundo, como si contuvieran un lago en su interior, el Joven Raimondo nunca había visto una mujer más bella y bajándose de su caballo se acercó a la fuente de mármol donde la joven estaba apoyada. La joven con voz angelical dijo —Soy Mélusine Y puedo darte fortuna, poder y redención.Y especialmente la redención que tu alma necesita en este momento.  Pero debes prometerme una cosa: cada sábado, no me buscaras, no me veras y no me nombraras.Deberas dejarme a solas y no intentaras estar conmigo. Como recompensa te construire el más bello palacio que te puedas imaginar y vivire contigo. Pero recuerda los sábados no me tendrás. El joven Raymondin, que ya se encontraba totalmente  hechizado por la belleza y el  misterio de aquella mujer, aceptó sin dudar aquel extraño pacto que la mujer le ofrecia. De regreso a poitier Mélusine cumplió su promesa. En una sola noche, con ayuda de fuerzas invisibles, levantó el castillo de Lusignan, que tiene torres que parecen brotar de la tierra como si fueran espigas de piedra. No era un castillo común. Las torres tenían formas espirales, como caracoles de piedra. Las ventanas eran ojivales, pero en cada vitral se dibujaban escenas que aún no habían ocurrido. Las columnas estaban talladas con serpientes, dragones, lunas y mujeres aladas. En el centro, una fuente de mármol blanco brotaba agua que nunca se secaba.Los aldeanos decían que el castillo había sido construido por manos invisibles, que por la noche se oyeron cantos en lenguas perdidas, y que Mélusine hablaba con las piedras. La pareja se traslado a esl castillo y dicen que vivieron años maravillosos. Que tuvieron muchos hijos. Mélusine los amaba con ternura, y Raymondin los protegía con orgullo. El pueblo veneraba a la pareja aunque algo raro notaban de ella. La dama del Castillo nunca asistía a misa y que nadie, absolutamente nadie la había visto un sábado. Ella simplemente desaparecía como humo los sábados. Pero la duda es una sombra que crece en silencio en el alma de los incautos. Así que Un sábado Raymondin  impulsado por los rumores de su pueblo  y la curiosidad propia de un hombre decidí que debía espiar a su mujer cuando ella se encerraba en la más alta de las torres. En aquella torre había una habitación que se cerraba por dentro y desde la cual algunas veces se oían ruidos extraños, La puerta de aquella habitación era de grueso roble y por casualidad solo tenía una pequeña fisura que dejaba salir la luz interior. Raymondin acercó sus ojos a la fisura y allí pudo observar que sucedia en la habitación de la torre. Lo que vio lo dejó sin aliento: Mélusine estaba sumergida en la fuente de mármol, su cuerpo desnudo y resplandeciente... pero desde la cintura hacia abajo, su cuerpo era el de una una serpiente alada, con escamas de esmeralda y una cola que se enroscaba como un río encantado.Aquella visión lo lleno de espanto y de un salto retrocedio haciendo

This week, Pastor Ralph Castillo closed out our Summer sermon series, The Fifth Act, with an in depth look on the Apostle Paul's final remarks to the Ephesian Elders in Acts and a call to finish well. Throughout his ministry, Paul endured great suffering for the sake of Christ, undergoing intense persecution and opposition nearly everywhere he went. However, at the end of his life, he was able to confidently say that he finished the work set out for him. Paul's life challenges us to focus on finishing well, not in our own strength, but by anchoring ourselves in Christ, committing to submit to the Holy Spirit, and by loving what Jesus loves, His Church.

En las elecciones generales de Bolivia del pasado día 17, el Movimiento al Socialismo, el partido de Evo Morales, sufrió el mayor revés de su historia al quedar fuera de la segunda vuelta presidencial programada para el próximo 19 de octubre. El candidato del MAS, Eduardo del Castillo, obtuvo solo el 3% de los votos y quedó en sexto lugar. Los contendientes por la presidencia serán Rodrigo Paz Pereira, un senador centrista que sorprendió con el 32% de los votos, y Jorge Quiroga, expresidente conservador con el 27%. El MAS ha dominado la política boliviana desde 2006, cuando Evo Morales asumió la presidencia con el 53% de los votos. La revalidó en 2009 y 2014 con resultados electorales aún mejores. Inspirado por el chavismo venezolano, Morales quiso emular a su maestro y alineó a Bolivia con regímenes antioccidentales como Venezuela, Nicaragua, Irán y China. Pero la Constitución de 2009, promovida por el propio Morales, limitaba los mandatos presidenciales a dos. Emulando a Hugo Chávez trató de eliminar este límite mediante un referéndum en 2016 que perdió. Aun así, el Tribunal Constitucional, controlado por él, le permitió presentarse en 2019. Las elecciones de ese año estuvieron marcadas por el fraude, que confirmó una auditoría de la OEA. Las protestas obligaron a Morales a marcharse en noviembre de 2019. Tras ello huyó del país y se estableció en Argentina apadrinado por Alberto Fernández. Entretanto, Jeanine Áñez asumió la presidencia interina. Su gestión, en principio de transición, se prolongó debido a la irrupción de la pandemia. Áñez terminó encarcelada por corrupción poco después de las elecciones de 2020 en las que el MAS regresó al poder con Luis Arce, ex ministro de Morales, que obtuvo el 55% de los votos. Pero la relación entre Arce y Morales se deterioró rápidamente, lo que resultó en una fractura interna dentro del MAS. En 2023, el Tribunal Constitucional anuló la reelección indefinida, inhabilitando de paso a Morales, que desde su escondite en la provincia de Chapare, donde está refugiado tras ser acusado de un delito sexual, pidió el voto nulo. Pero en el vuelco electoral ha tenido más que ver con la crisis económica que con la implosión de la izquierda boliviana. El país, que en los primeros años de Morales se benefició de los altos precios del gas natural, atraviesa desde hace años una crisis económica que no ha hecho más que empeorar. La producción de gas se ha reducido a la mitad por simple descuido y falta de inversiones. Del resto se han encargado los controles económicos, la corrupción y la falta de seguridad jurídica que se tradujo en el pasado en expropiaciones a empresas extranjeras, algunas españolas como Abertis o Iberdrola, cuyos activos fueron expropiados entre 2012 y 2013. Eso ha ahuyentado la inversión ahondando los problemas económicos. El resultado es una escasez crónica de divisas. Las reservas del banco central están en mínimos, la inflación ronda el 25%, el déficit público supera el 10% y los bonos son de alto riesgo. Los bolivianos se las ven y se las desean para llenar la cesta de la compra cuyo precio crece sin parar desde hace años. Los candidatos que se disputan la segunda vuelta tendrán que implementar reformas drásticas. Rodrigo Paz promete “capitalismo para todos”, mientras Quiroga aboga por cambiar “absolutamente todo” tras veinte años perdidos. Ambos capitalizan el deseo de cambio de la mayor parte de los bolivianos. La izquierda, entretanto, se enfrenta a una crisis duradera a la que no se le ve final. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson 1,500 Christians hiding in Somalia, Africa International Christian Concern reports that there are still at least 1,500 Christian believers hiding in Somalia, Africa. This country is the second most dangerous place on earth for Christians, according to the World Watch List.  Somali Christians are often killed, on the spot, when their faith is discovered – murdered either by Islamic militants or even their own family. Somalia is also the sixth poorest nation in Africa, and the highest percentage of Muslims of any nation in the world with 99.8% of the population identifying as Muslim. The only possible exception is the population on the island of Maldives, located 470 miles off the coast of India in the Indian Ocean. Citizens there are required to nominally follow Sunni Islam. So, technically it is 100% Muslim.  However, a 2020 census revealed that 0.29% identify as Christian. Socialists lost in Bolivian election The socialists lost ground big time in Bolivia's election over the weekend.  The socialist candidate, Eduardo del Castillo, only took 3% of the vote. The more conservative candidate, Jorge “Tuto” Quiroga, took 30.4%. And the more centrist candidate, Paz Pereira, captured 30.7% of the vote, at last count. A run-off will be in the works. Psalm 75:6-7 is clear that God is sovereign over the nations. “Exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south.  But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” Brazilian Supreme Court put Jair Bolsonaro under house arrest The Brazilian Supreme Court has resumed its campaign to silence Jair Bolsonaro, the previous president and conservative leader of the South American country. The court ordered his house arrest, after Bolsonaro addressed a crowd by cell phone.  His alleged crime was that he said, “Good afternoon, Copacabana. Good afternoon, my Brazil, a hug to everyone. This is for our freedom.” U.S. State Department Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau lambasted Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes.  Landau called the court's actions “unbridled Orwellian impulses … dragging his Court and his country into the uncharted territory of a judicial dictatorship.” Putin wants 20% of Ukrainian territory under Russian control President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy yesterday at the White House, in hopes of working a peace deal in the Russian-Ukrainian war, reports The Epoch Times. Zelenskyy was quite reverential, unlike his last visit to the White House, where he angered Vice President Vance and President Trump alike. ZELENSKYY: “Thank you very much for your efforts, personal efforts to stop killings and stop this war. Thank you.” President Trump seemed hopeful, referencing a trilateral agreement between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. TRUMP: “If everything works out well today, we'll have a trilat. And I think there will be a reasonable chance of ending the war when we do that.” At issue is Russian President Vladimir Putin's insistence that Russia retain 20% of Ukrainian territory now under Russian dominance. Trump has signaled on Truth Social that “Ukraine must be willing to lose some territory to Russia.” Also, Trump is pressing Ukraine to abandon any commitment to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO.  Last week, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine would not be giving up land to the “occupier.”  Isaiah 2:3-4 reminds us “[The God of Jacob] will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” Newsmax ordered to pay $67 million to Dominion voting machines The conservative news organization, Newsmax, has agreed to pay Dominion voting machines $67 million for suggesting the company had rigged the 2020 election in which President Donald Trump lost to then Democrat candidate Joe Biden. Newsmax issued a statement complaining that the Delaware judge presiding over the case had not offered a fair trial. And Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy noted that “The actions taken against Newsmax, and earlier against Fox News, represent a direct attack on free speech and a free press.” He also encouraged all businesses to leave Delaware, a liberal bastion in the U.S.   Back in 2023, Fox News was saddled with a $790 million payout in a similar lawsuit.  The almost $1 billion was quite a take for Dominion, a company earning less than $100 million a year, per an estimate from CBS News.  Stock valuation through the roof Stock valuation is way, way high on the S&P stock index.  Price-to-earnings ratios are scraping 30 at 29.88, the highest since 2020 and the 2009 recession. The price-to-earnings ratio is the ratio of a company's share or stock price to the company's earnings per share.  Price-to-earnings ratios averaged about 15 for a hundred years, prior to the stock market craziness of the 2010s and 2020s. The NASDAQ 100 price-to-earnings ratio is 42, the highest in recorded history. Another index, known as the Buffett Indicator, comparing the valuation of the 5,000 largest companies to the Gross Domestic Product is 210.11%, the highest in history. Before the 2009 recession, the Buffett Indicator  hit a high of 109%, and before the dot-com crash, the indicator hit an unprecedented 135%.  270 million babies killed by in vitro fertilization And finally, Life Site News reports that 270 million babies have been aborted by the in vitro fertilization procedure since the idea was conceived in 1978. The calculation is based on the estimation of 16 embryonic children killed for every live child born.  About 17 million children have been produced by the IVF procedure. Those 270 million IVF abortions add to about 65 million legalized abortions since 1973, and millions more by the abortifacient intrauterine device or IUD, and other abortifacients.
