Oración desde Morropón, Piura, Perú. Evangelio: Juan 5, 1-16. Bendición: P. This Live Better Sell Better Podcast episode throws back to our conversation with Arthur Castillo, Head of Dark Social and Evangelism at Chili Piper. Before tackling outbound prospecting, make sure that your inbound process is done.Arthur shares his experience in transitioning from sales to marketing and optimizing both the inbound and outbound channels efficiently altogether. He also gives insight into what a sales rep can learn from the marketing perspective and vice versa.HIGHLIGHT QUOTESUnderstand how you can get someone into your sales funnel as quickly as possible - Arthur: "They know they're not buying the best product, it's just 'Hey, who can solve my problem in the quickest way possible at a fair price?' They're really looking to solve that problem and move on."Utilize the right resources to establish credibility - Arthur: "If a buyer can learn from one of their peers over a sales rep, they have way more credibility than a sales rep ever would. Partly because as a sales rep, you've probably never have done the job or you probably have never used the service that you're about to sell." John Schu and Lauren Castillo share This Is a Story, inviting us to imagine the myriad ways that books can foster connection and understanding--and how they can empower children, through their own passions, to transform the world. BOOK DESCRIPTION: This Is a Story by John Schu; illustrated by Lauren Castillo Page Length: 40 pages Ages 4 to 8, Grades P to 3 Children's literacy advocate John Schu and Caldecott Honor recipient Lauren Castillo celebrate the power of finding the perfect book--in a story that's more relevant than ever. This is a word on a page. This is a page in a book. This is a book on a shelf . . . waiting. With a sea-horse kite in hand, a child heads out with Dad to the library. On the way they stop at a park, joining lots of people, some of whom are flying kites, too. At the library, a person toting a big pile of books hands over a story on a favorite subject: the sea horse. All around, there are readers poring over books, each with their own questions, ideas to explore, hopes for the future, and imaginations ready to spark. With a warm, lyrical text and tenderly expressive illustrations, John Schu and Lauren Castillo invite us to imagine the myriad ways that books can foster connection and understanding--and how they can empower children, through their own passions, to transform the world. NOTABLE QUOTES: (7:44) “[Finding that just-right book] feels very soothing and it makes me think of the books that are the ones that I return to over and over again. Those are like comfort objects to me.” (8:30) “A book often walks into our life when we need it the most.” (8:45) “We know that books can make our hearts grow. They can make our hearts change. And they can make our hearts more compassionate.” (12:11) “And right away we see [that] the way that I define story is probably different from how you define story, Matthew. And how you define story, Matthew, is probably different from how Lauren defines story, so I love how everyone has their own personal definition of what the word story means.” (13:39) “Reading can be a workout for your heart, and reading can be a workout for your imagination.” (14:23) “I feel that I am a better person because of all of the kids who I've met around the world.” (15:15) “Cities are the places I like to call home. And that's because I love to be surrounded by diversity and experience different cultures and different types of people. And when I illustrate, I always want the art to be representative of the many types of people in our communities.” (17:52) “Sometimes humans need help connecting.” (24:07) “Is there a book that feels like a best friend to you?” (24:33) “Don't be shy to ask your librarian or your teacher or your friends for suggestions if you're having a hard time finding books that you love. Because I know that, you know, for me as a kid sometimes it was hard for me to find those books that I loved without help. And so I would, I would urge you to, to reach out and ask for help because they're, those books are out there and they're waiting for you to find them.” ADDITIONAL LINKS: John Schu Website - MrSchuReads Lauren Castillo Website - laurencastillo.com. Purchase the Book - This Is a Story TALK ABOUT THE EPISODE: How would you describe the just-right book for you right now? What format (picture book, novel, graphic novel, novel in verse, etc.) does it use to share the story? What topic(s) is it about? What makes this book such a good fit for you? What is your relationship to story? What word or words come to mind when you hear the word “story”? What feelings come to heart? What memories? It can feel really satisfying when someone shares a recommendation with you that makes you feel like the are knowing or seeing you/your true self. Have you experienced this yet? If so, what did it feel like? If not, can you think of an opportunity you might have to make someone else feel seen in this way?

On the 7th December 2022, President Pedro Castillo attempted to dissolve Peru's Congress. His attempted self-coup ended almost as quickly as it began, having been denounced by his own party, the military and the police. He was arrested as he tried to make his way to Mexico, and currently awaits trial. His running mate and vice president, Dina Boluarte, has assumed power in his stead. However, prior to Castillo's attempt to gain complete control, Boluarte had already been expelled from the party, after publicly rejecting its ideology, and defected to the opposition. This has left Peruvians angry, especially as she originally intended to see out the rest of the term until 2026. Thousands of disillusioned Peruvians gathered in protest all over the country, at first demanding the release of Castillo, and latterly, for the resignation of Presidential Boluarte and constitutional reform. They have been met by a fierce and brutal response. At least 60 Peruvians have lost their lives in the protests, and a further 1000 or more have suffered injury. Still the protests continue. Bio taken from IMDB One of the most respected Latina actresses in Hollywood, April Hernandez-Castillo's personal life story is one of victory. Her feature film debut as Eva Benitez in the Image Award-nominated MTV film, Freedom Writers (2007), alongside Academy Award-winner Hilary Swank, put her in the ranks of some of the biggest names in the industry. An actress with a blend of unlimited expression and humor, the Bronx (NY) native made her stage debut at the famous New York Comedy Club in New York City as a stand-up comedienne. As an actress, April expanded her stage experience to television. She got her first acting break as the Yo/Yoa Girl alongside NBA All-Star Houston Rockets center Yao Ming in the 2004 Super Bowl Visa Check Card national commercial. Next came major television roles that would include NBC's Emmy-award winning series ER (1994), Law & Order (1990) and 30 Rock (2006). Keeping an eye on the big screen, in 2007 she tried out for the role of a lifetime and got it--in "Freedom Writers". She would co-star alongside one of Hollywood's biggest stars, Hilary Swank. It was in this role that April would catch the attention of The View (1997) producers, who invited her to co-host the show. Reaching critical heights, her portrayal of Eva Benitez earned her recognition and critical acclaim confirming her status as one of the more talented up-and-coming actresses. Displaying the talent and drive to parlay success into a career as a respected actress, April garnered roles in the pilot Blue Blood (2008) on Fox and Showtime's Nurse Jackie (2009), CBS' Person of Interest (2011) and received a SAG Award nomination for her role as Officer Cira Manson in Showtime's award-winning drama Dexter (2006), a role in John Mitchell's sci-fi comedy The History of Future Folk (2012), guest-starred as Danny Pino's sister on NBC's drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) and appeared in two episodes of FOX's hit show The Following (2013). April has demonstrated her versatility as an actress. However, her latest role is not in front of the camera but as a motivational and inspirational speaker. Every International Women's day there's marches all over Mexico, demanding justice for the femicides. One of the biggest marches happens in Mexico City. Last year, on International women's day 2022, a clip went viral. He's surrounded by women, who are screaming "no estas solo, no estas solo". They're jumping, there's drums and they all embrace him. This man is Jose Luis Castillo and he's 62 years old. The girl in the sign he's wearing is his daughter, Esmeralda Castillo Rincón and she has been missing for 14 years now. Jose Luis Castillo has been relentlessly searching for her since he was 48. In today's episode, Cristina tells MJ about Jose Luis Castillo and his search for Esmeralda Castillo Rincon. Since December, Peru has been in the midst of a protracted politico crisis. Following a failed coup in early December, President Pedro Castillo was arrested, becoming the fifth president to leave office in Peru in five years. In the midst of protests, Castillo's deputy Dina Boluarte took power. But protests have continued in the following months, with roughly 60 people dead—mostly protestors killed by the police and the military, as the Peruvian government takes an increasingly authoritarian turn. After Castillo's departure from office in December, Lawfare published a podcast conversation with Rodrigo Barrenechea, a 2022/23 Santo Domingo Visiting Scholar at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University and an assistant professor at the Departamento de Ciencias Sociales of the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. With the violence and unrest continuing to unfold, Lawfare Senior Editor Quinta Jurecic asked Rodrigo back on the podcast for an update on where things stand. He explained why he thinks that Peru may no longer be fairly described as a democracy and why it's hard to see an end to this crisis any time soon.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/lawfare. Bible Reading: Psalm 103:8-13; Romans 3:21-26; 6:23"It's not fair," said Kate as she stomped up to her teacher's desk. "I don't have any wrong answers on these word problems, but you still gave me a B instead of an A.""You didn't show your work," Mrs. Castillo replied patiently. "That was part of the assignment. I said you needed to show me how you got your answers or you would not receive full credit.""But on my last assignment I didn't show my work either, and you didn't lower that grade," Kate countered."That's true, but I can't continue to be that lenient," said Mrs. Castillo. "I warned you about that."Kate huffed. "But I deserve--" The school bell interrupted her."You'd better hurry, or you'll be late for your next class," said Mrs. Castillo. That night at dinner, Kate told her dad about her talk with Mrs. Castillo. "I deserved to get an A just like on my other assignment.""I disagree," said Dad gently. "You knew the penalty for failing to show your work. What you really deserved was to lose points on both assignments. You should be grateful that Mrs. Castillo went easy on you the first time." Kate looked glum, but she had no answer to that.During devotions, Dad read a few verses from Psalm 103. When he was finished, he said, "This reminds me of your problem with Mrs. Castillo, Kate.""What do you mean, Dad?" Kate asked."The Bible clearly says that we're all sinners, and we deserve death and eternal separation from God," said Dad. "But listen to verse ten again. 'He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.' Christians will spend eternity in heaven with Jesus--not because we deserve it, but because of God's mercy. Just like Mrs. Castillo didn't mark you down on your first test even though you didn't follow the instructions and show your work, God doesn't condemn those who trust in Jesus as their Savior. Instead, He shows us grace and forgives us for all our wrongs." Dad closed his Bible. "Let's pray and thank God for His gift of eternal life.""And for not giving us what we deserve," added Kate. -Philip J. AndersonHow About You?Do you think you deserve to go to heaven? If so, you're wrong! The Bible says that all of us are sinners who deserve death for sinning against God. But because of His mercy and grace, Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died on the cross, and if you trust in Him, God won't give you what you deserve. Instead, He'll give you His gift of eternal life. Join me as I tell John the heartbreaking case of Baby Hope. When the body of a malnourished girl was found in a cooler off the Henry Hudson parkway in 1991 the homicide detectives of the 34th precinct work hard to identify her body and find her killer. It would take 22 years, but Baby Hope would eventually get her name back. In this episode we talk to Dr. Theresa Castillo, Chief Program Officer at HealthRight International, a non-profit partner of NYU GPH that has worked to improve critical public health systems in Ukraine since 2005. Even after Russia invaded Ukraine a year ago, HealthRight continued its HIV, mental health, violence prevention and maternal and child health programs in-country. But it has also had to pivot to key humanitarian services, creating mobile crisis teams to reunite families, arranging safe passage, managing supply chains and providing counseling. And though media interest in Ukraine's plight has ebbed and flowed, the need for donations to support resilience and rebuilding continues. Hear Dr. Castillo's compelling description of how HealthRight has helped more than a million people despite the ongoing war, including a new initiative to “care for the carers” -- the first responders -- and efforts to find opportunities for people to plan for the future. For more information about HealthRight International and its programs visit http://www.healthright.org. The sowing of confusion and turmoil mark the early steps in an operation. There are so many devils all around us. Setups occur, even in high school. Kenye's mom and the struggle with demons against redemption. When it comes to media, it's all about intentions. A strategic lesson on Peru, and why it will soon be in the news. Long borders and low population make national defense difficult. Gravity anomalies, blood chemistry, strategic location and natural resources define a US State Dept target. Hear comes the bird flu again. Break down politics by injecting woke on both sides. Fujimori, Garcia, Castillo, Toledo and planned election turmoil. Payments, illegal extraditions, accusations and foreign armies. The close parallels with our 2000 elections. Shakin' and quakin' to destabilize society and unleash hell. Clinging to power based on a shaped narrative. Farce elections incoming. Sound familiar some how? Remember that God always wins and faith will keep our legs strong so that we never bend a knee.
